Last week had game against O&G. Enemy had more or less:
Black Orc Warboss
Savage Orc Great Shaman
Night Goblin BSB
2*lvl2 Night Goblin shamans
3*Night Goblin boss

3*5 Goblin wolf riders
2 Manglers
60 or something Night Goblins (with fanatics and netters. The general, and all goblin heroes in here)
2*Doom diver
2*Lobba
39 Savage Orc Big'Unss (Great Shaman in here)
14 Trolls
1 signle troll
Wulf chariot

All his characters had basic gear. General had some items and great shaman had offcourse lucky head and stuff. Cant remember what else he had as core units, but its not that important :D

I deployed from left to right: cat, IB, ME´s, Bulls (with characters), IG's, cat and MF.
His deployment was (starting from my left): Lobba, mangler, wulfs, wulf chariot, doom diver, mangler, savages, wulfs, lobba, goblins, troll, trolls, wulfs and doom diver.

Turn 1
I go first. Terrain only few hills with little forests. Move my cats against his wolfs. Suffle my troops up, but not too hasty (those manglers, fanatics and stuff..). Manage to snipe a W on his great shaman. IB actually did few wounds on mangler. In CC I make wulfs on my left to run. On my right, wulfs kill my cat. MF and Trolls had a staredown, that lasted the whole game

He moves manglers up but does not either march full ahead. Shooting does 1 W here, 1 W there.

Turn 2
I move my IG's up to mayby charge in his trolls in future rounds, leaving IG's flank open for goblins (needed 12 for the roll). I stay and kind a wait him to come me. I killed few savages with IB and ME's snipe another W on his great shaman. Magic missle killed few wolfs.

He moves a bit up. In magic he teleports his savages over his manglers to my left, turning savages front to my right and savages right flank towards my table edge. ME's are going to get charged. His shooting does few wounds.

Turn 3
I cant get my ME´s in cover so I reform my bulls to a horde (placed my lvl 1 beasts so that HH range would get his casters next turn.), facing his savages. IB shoots some savages again.

He charges his wolf chariot on my IB and savages on my ME's (no luck with stand&shoot). In his magic I use HH and kill something 30 goblings, put W on his BSB, warp his other lvl2, kill few savages (ME's took few wounds also) and his great shaman takes the last W and dies. In CC, he beats and runs over my ME's.

Turn 4
He had some 15 savages left so I swift reformed and moved up my bulls to face goblins and trolls. IG's and MF still having a staredown with trolls and coblins. In magic I now got regen on bulls and IG's.

He moves stays in place and reforms. Not much happening. I lose 2 MF to his shooting, but manage not to panic.

Turn 5
I charge my bulls to his coblins front and IG's to his wulfs next to his coblins. Fanatics do few wounds. In magic I get bigger rengen and +1T on IG's off. In CC I kill wulfs an reform to face his trolls flank. Bulls kill bunch of coblins, but netters really helped him. Both generals in challenge. He breaks rolls more than me.

We call the game. In his 5th, he could have shot another MF... He should have been able to rally his coblins and move his last wulfs between us to redect my bulls away from his coblins.

I had lost 2 cats, ME's, half of MF and IB. He had lost few goblin heroes, BSB, lvl 4 and lvl 2 shamans, half of savages and coblins, two units of 5 wulfs and a mangler.
Sweat saves blood
Yesterday I faced WoC. His list was some sort of CC-based list, copyed from some good ETC-player.

2*Deamon prince of nurcle (another was his general, neither was a caster. both had slime, few magic items. no ward saves but both had 2+ as.)
BSB on some sort of better juggernaut.
Lvl 2 (slaanesh) on some sort of beast also :D

3 chariots of slaanesh
1 gorebeast chariot
1 spawn
3*5 wolfs
3 skullcrushers with FC (BSB in here)
Hellcannon

I deployed from left to right: Cat, IB, MF, Bulls (characters in here), ME, IG, cat. His deployment was (starting from my left): Chariot of slaanesh, wulfs, deamon prince (his general), Chariot of slaanesh, spawn, gorebeast chariot, another deamon prince, chariot of slaanesh, wulfs, chariot of slaanesh, skullcrushers, wulfs, lvl 2, hellcannon.

Turn 1
He goes first. Suffles his chariots and deamon prince's up but only moves his skullcrushers and lvl 2 full ahead. I was kind a bunkered in my left corner. All my troops were on my left side of deployment zone. Only one cat was on far right. He moves wulfs up  so that my chargelines are limited. Magic and shooting go nothing.

I charge my cats on his wolfs in both flanks, bulls to his generals front (needed 8 to roll, rolled 10). I moved back my ME's and IG's, so that he would need wery good rolls to make charges with his other deamon prince and skullcrushers. I swift reformed my MF to flank him, if he ever made those charges. In magic I get nothing off, but burn his scroll. IB hit his other deamon prince, but I roll 1 to wound :x ME's shoot one W in the same deamon prince. In CC it is a ever lasting challenge between our generals. I had a nice bus of bulls and an ogre charge going in, so did 2 wounds with impacts on him. In the first round of challenge I do 1 wound more and he has only 1 left! Mayby this was not so bad idea after all  My other cat wins CC near our challenge, but wulfs stay. Another cat gets killed by his wulfs (had frenzy on them..)

Turn 2
Skullcrushers make the long charge on IG's and I can only hold. Wulfs charge my ME's and I stand&shoot 7 wounds on them (other deamon prince needed like10 or 11 with two dice, so used my stand&shoot here), killing all. Offcourse his deamon prince makes the charge. Hellcannon failed its test on turn 1 and now misses MF. In CC IG's are overrun by his BSB (skullcrushers restrained and reformed to face my MF) and ME's by deamon prince. His BSB pursuits of the table. In challenge he puts 3 wounds in my SM.

I charge MF in skullcrushers and reform my bulls to horde (dont know why. I was going to be charged from both flanks next turn). In Magic I get regen on bulls. IB missfired. MF easily kill skullcrushers down to a one model but he runs more than I and escapes. During my pursuit I clip his wolves flank. In challenge he makes two wouds and I fail to regen. SM dies.

Turn 3
He chages bulls with all his chariots and alos spawn makes in. He moves his other deamon prince, lvl 2 and bsb also near my bulls. In CC the result was nasty, but I held with steadfast. We call the game. I had only IB and MF left. Bulls and remaining characters would have been killed in my turn 3.

I seem to have hard time against WoC every ******* time! In addition, never has my IB won me even 170p! We say they are cheesy, but I say giant would be money well spent instead!

It seems I wont be playing ETC tournament (got so much to do beside), but a local store has a one day tournament in next month.
- 1200p armies, no lords or named characters, maxium of two same characters, single model point cap is 140p unless it is a character, character can spend maxium of 25p on magic items / gifts / runes, Only BSB can have a magic standard, original maxiumsize for a unit is 30 models / 300p, ETC line of sight, cant take two of samekind special or rare unit,..

Scenarios will be battleline, blood and clory, meeting engagement and batteline.

So, cant take IB or SM, I can only take one sabretusk, only reason to take anti-regen would be facing O&G, because they could take a unit of maxium 8 trolls,..

Im planning to take BSB with basic gear and with +1LD or +1M banner. Also 5-7 IG's and 7-10 bulls. One single sabretusk and 10 gnoblars (mayby trappers). Unit of 2 MF.

Should I take Firebelly as general (lvl 1 with scroll or ring?) or take butcher or bruiser for a general? Also 4 leadies or 3 ME's?
Sweat saves blood
Thanks for the battle summaries.

The first game against the green skins certainly sounded like a stand off, he didn't do himself any favours by getting his spell casters into range of the Hellheart however there isn't much else you can do.

Do you normally run the Ogre Bulls in a bus formation or horde or just depends on the match up?

Second game - damn 1's to wound with Ironblasters!  I've experienced that just about every game 'when' it doesn't misfire.  :(  Dual Daemon Prince is no joke!

Good luck with the tournament next month!

Thanks for reading! Were more summaries than reports :D Had no time for the ETC...

Local store runs 1200p border patrol by the on this month. I have played few games testing my list.

Firebelly: General, Lvl 1 Lore of Fire, Ruby Ring of Ruin, additional hand weapon
147
Bruiser: BSB, Standard of Discipline, heavy armour, ironfist
153
6 Iron Guts: FC, Look-Out Gnoblar

14 Gnoblars: Trappers

5 Maneaters: 3*additional handweapon, 5*heavy armour, Bellower, Captain, Swiftstride, Stubborn

I think this list is as competetive as it can be, under the rules for armylists in the tournament. In test games, I ran 7 bulls instead of one more MFC and the ME's. It sure had 3 hard hitting and fast units then, but I think the list is even "more" now. The opponent will be forced to try to take out ME's or MFC and success with that or not, IG's with characters will mop up. One of the four scenarios will be blood and clory, so in that one I need to play safe with my "all eggs in a one basket".

2491

Dwarfs had a heavy kitted lord on a shield, Bsb, dragon slayer, 30 some rangers, some 30-40 longbeards (bsb) with shields, 20 hammerers (lord), 2 organ guns, 2 cannons, copter and one grudge thrower.

From my left to right: cat, leadies, MFC, IG's, ME's with characters, cat and bulls. There was a tower in the middle and I hide my ME's pretty much behind it. Bulls and one cat were on my far right kind alone.

Opposing from my left to right: copter, rangers scouted as close as they could to my leadies, longbeards, slayer, organ, hammerers, organ, (behind em were the artillery on a hill).

Turn 1

I go first and move my MFC within 12-13" of his longbeards, giving his artillery a great shot on my flank  I move the IG's Behind MFC and wheel ME's close to em, but taking some cover behind the tower. Bulls and cat march behind a house, ready to threaten the artillery on the hill (was still something 20" away). Leadies move within 12" and unload on rangers. If I remember right, 13 died but no panic.
He charges rangers to leadies and longbeards to MFC. Both fail to make it. Then his shooting kills 3 of my 4 MFC but I manage not to panic because of my tyrant and bsb nearby. He tries to kill my cat on the far right with the grudge thrower  , but misses. Copter put a wound on the cat at my left.

Turn 2

Gorger comes and moves right under the hill, about 3" away from thrower. I charge the lone MFC standard to dragon slayer, hoping to overrun to organ gun. IG's charge longbeards. I suffle my ME's to make it in his hammerers if they stay still or charge my MFC (in case it fails to overrun away hammerers charge arc). Leadies move to 1" away of rangers and cat on my left enters another tower (can they?). Bulls take cover and organ gun shoots the cat on my right. In shooting, leadies only kill some 3-5 rangers. In CC, IG's kill a lot of longbeards and make them run. He rolls 11 and I pursue 8". The lone MFC kills the slayer, but overruns like crap, leaving his flank for hammerers.

Hammerers charge the lone MFC, rangers charge leadies. Longbeards rally. Copter moves to shoot IG's. Shooting does little. No targets for him really. Cannon did mayby one wound on ME's (still managed to stay in the shade of that tower 8) ). In CC his lord kills the lone MFC, but hammerers would have failed to overrun on my IG's flank due to hitting terrain first, so they reform to face my ME's. Leadies and rangers result is; I lose by one, but general and bsb do their thing from a distance.

Turn 3

Gorger takes on the thrower and ME's charge hammerers. In CC I challenge his tank lord (wanted to try this in the first place...kind a one reason to play the whole game. I knew that even he kills my tyrant, I would win that CC in two rounds). He hits me first and makes 3 wounds in! Failed 3/4 4++ :x I swing back and after his 4++ and TOTS he has 1 wound left. Bsb and ME's kill the whole unit before they get to swing. Lord runs and I catch him. Leadies wipe out rangers (only lost one model to em). At this point we kind a played it for a little longer...I got his artillery, wounded cat killed copter,...

I have played 4 cames in a week against Dwarfs and every time they got bad beating. I think we are one of the worst matchups for Dwarfs in this edition, but they do kind a suck generally in this edition.

3000

I deployed from left to right: (left flank) giant, bulls, gnoblars, cat, leadies and SM in tower, (middle) ME's with general and bsb, IG's, (right flank) IB and a cat.

Delfs deployment from my left to right: 10 cold ones, witch elves with cauldron (bsb with fencers blades) on a hill, dreadlord (+1S sword, charmed shield, +1 AS, 50p cloak that gives some nasty things,..) on dragon behind that same hill, 21 exes, 20 dark shards, RBT, master (ogre blade and enchanted shield) on manticore and hydra(behind a hill), cold one chariot, 10 dark shards and RBT.

So no magic on his behalf and he gets to go first.

1a
Cold ones, witch elves, exes, manticore, hydra and the chariot advance full speed. crossbows move in a range to get some targets. Dreadlord flyes behind cold ones and stays out of my IB's range. Shooting does few wounds. Cat on my right loses one wound, but lives.

1b
I move gnoblars and cat up to redirect the cold one knigths, suffle giant on the other side of the bulls and behind gnoblars (why).. bulls move back full speed. ME's move close to tower to be ready to support. A house is between manticore and my IG's so IG's wheel only a bit to protect ME's flank but staying out of manticores LOS. Wounded cat runs behind a ruined tower. Magic is 2&1 so with 3 dice and +6 to casting rolls I cast something...bonecrusher killed one knight mayby. Leadies kill something 9 exes and IB put 3 Wounds on hydra!! Flailbalster does something!

2a
He charges cold ones on gnoblars (only one dies to S&H and DT), exes to tower and manticore to my ME's right flank. Everything else suffles up. Shooting does few wounds to IG's. In compat gnoblars run and he overruns to giant. Exes win the tower compat, but I stay. He killed two leadies and I killed something 5 exes. Held my SM back. Tyrant takes 2 wounds in challenge, but kills the manticore. Somehow the master makes his breaktest and remains on my flank.

2b
Bulls aid the giant by charging cold ones front. Cat on my right runs somewhere..was kind a pointless for the rest of the game. Gnoblars run off the board. IG's suffle behind the house waiting the hydra or to be ready to aid ME's if witch elves make to their front. Wounded cat runs from ruined tower behind IG's. In magic I get off big regen and big +1S (my other spells were stubb and bonecrusher). IB faild to wound the chariot. In compat I kill all cold ones and reform stubidly. Now exes lose the tower compat, but the remaining few stay. Tyrant takes 3 wound before ending masters life.

3a
Dreadlord charges giants left flank (giant had 4 wounds left). Witch elves charge ME's front and the chariot makes a long charge to my IB. Hydra moves from behind the building and flames my IG's (only few wounds), staying out of their LOS. Shooting has no pretty much no targets. In compat the dreadlord kills the giant and overruns out of bulls LOS. Exes and leadies continue to punish each other. Witch elves do FREAKING 21 wounds on my ME's (praise the sigmar I kept my bsb in second rank) and 14 or 16 of those were poisons!!! They just reroll everything  I make a ton of saves (praise the Maw I had the regen) and lose only 3 models (one had taken wounds from shooting already). In challenge Tyrant takes 2 wounds but makes his 4++ and kills the hag. ME's kill something 20 naked angry women and my bsb guts his bsb in pieces from the second rank. He was barely steadfast (we were not sure was he. We played it so that the cauldron completes ranks. If thats not the case, then he would have ran) and made his breaktest. On the far left, IB loses compat and is run down...flailblaster.

3b
I charge IG's to witch elves flank and move the wounded cat to redirect the hydra (it had regained its wounds). Bulls run after the dreadlord, if it ever was to make to ME's. In magic he dispels big regen with two sixes but I get the big +1S off. Compat in the tower had been blody and it ended my SM killing his champion. Had two leadies left. Witch elves are killed in compat and ME's run the running cauldron down. IG's reform to face the hydra.

At this point the game was kind a played, but we kept going on..

4a
He charges his dreadlord to ME's and hydra to cat. Chariot comes back to board but is far away from everything. Shooting does few wounds to IG's. Hydra kills the cat and reforms to face IG's. In challenge tyrant makes his 4++ again and stays alive. In return dreadlord is down to one wound. Having S9 is nice. Due to compat resolution the dreadlord breaks and runs. I dont catch him.

4b
Bulls charge the fleeing dreadlord off the table. IG's charge the hydra and kill it. We call the game.

No stupidity tests failed nor did witch elves or manticore fail their frenzy checks, giant did not fall over anyone, leadies did not kill SM because of grut's, IB did not missfire,...

Well, I managed it without one :)

Empire played kind a Striland list, so no magic. Mannies took two ld tests from shooting near board edge, but rolled 8 both times :D Heavens kind a worked well with shooting. Comet is also more fun than I thought :D By the turn 5 or 6, it was my IG's and casters against his greatswords, bsb and generald. He had nothing else left. I had all leadies, one cat and 3 ME's.

Played the Border Patrol tournament few weeks ago. Resulted 5/10. Funny, cause I won 3 games and lost 1 :D Played against DoC (15-5), Dwarfs (15-5 or 16-4), Chaos Dwarfs (lost it 0-20) and O&G (16-4). Had my first game against Chaos Dwarfs...K'dai fireborns suck ***! Game was pretty much him calling LoS for seering doom and me saying no. It took out my MFC by 8 wounds! Had taken one wound earlier.. Against DoC I held too much back. That and MFC wiffing their attacks against skullcannon on their turn of charge, cost me the 20-0 win. Dwarfs were easy, but let him indirectly "snipe" my characters by grudge thrower! Lame.. O&G was also easy, exept my IG bunker throwing 2*11 not to overrun into night goblings after killing trolls. Fanatics made kind a lot of hits...9,8 and 9  Lost my IG's.

Chaos Dwarfs - yuck.  I hate those things.

However sounds like something to be learned from every game as usual.  When's your next games up?  I've got two to play today but still stuck as to what to bring for a list.  Not sure on the Ogre Horde list I posted, can't help but feel there is no longevity to the idea.

I think you should leave the runemaw and take SM and firebelly - hellheart and scroll. The horde will be nasty with SM in it. Done it few times and it plays out. SM and BSB in CC gear and naked firebelly with hellheart in front rank along FC is playable. The hellheart is usually used in time you make in CC.

I have few upcoming tournaments, two in march and one in april. First 2400p named characters and so on allowed, the second is 1200p border patrol and last is 2999p named characters allowed and so on...
