Empire RPG Episode 4: Dark Times Approach...

"No. It can't be. Winter shouldn't be here for another 4 weeks!"
The Blight shall be upon us if we do not act! But I cannot send my men to their doom in that God-forsaken place.
The forces of the Dark Gods grow stronger, their attacks more frequent.
Hath we more time we could have built reinforced barracks and settlements for the poor.
Alas, The Beast is almost upon us.
And it hungers...
"Squire!" Yelled Captain Storm-Gale,
"Sir?"
"It is time I bid the frontlines farewell! Alert my lieutenant and my men of my absence! I shall be gone at dawn break, remember the plan if the enemy attacks."
"Sir. Beg your pardon for inquiring, but where travels thou?"
"The Lions! I shall request the Lions for my questing. Good Morro Figands!"
He must not know of our business in the woods.

As the sun begins to rise into the dreamy sky, a man can be seen on a barded steed galloping over hills. He stops at a town called "Amshire" and enters the local tavern.
"Lion, does thou fare well for another quest?"

(checks my dice rolls for the past 10 days) I'm assuming he entered this one because I lit all the other local taverns of fire.

"Grimwood Forest men. The place has been livid with the enemy. Sightings have confirmed Goblins, but I fear more. This quest is dangerous men, and I shall understand fully yer reequests to stay."

Anders looks up from the tattered prayer book he had been studying for the last few hours, clapped it shut with one hand and tucked it into his robes.

"Captain, if there are have been reports of Goblins there are sure to be other foul greenskin threats, Orks and and even Trolls are surely not far behind. My Sigmarite brethren and I have had many dealings with these foul creatures in the past and none are to be trifled with.

This is a sign from our holy Lord and Master Sigmar, I must attend to ensure our companions do not fall victim to the heretical gods these ghastly creatures worship.

Steel your resolve men, there are many reports from across the Empire of the foul Beastmen of Chaos lurking in such wooded area's and although their intellect is low their cunning and savagery is great. Be prepared for the worst. "

Anders readjusts his belt and blesses his mace with a short prayer, then gives the captain a nod to acknowledge he is ready to depart.

Gathering his knives from the target-board against the wall Cortez looks at the Captain:
"I've never had a chance to pull down a troll before, that will be quite something to put on my records."

Pulling the last knife from the wall Cortez looks at a few local tavern folk sitting nearby:
"You lot better pay up what you owe me!  I'd offer you double or nothing, but it seems my time is about done."

(Just so I can get this out of the way)

"I attack the Darkness!"

And so, 4 silhouettes rode out into the sunset, a heavy duty bearing upon them.
They ventured out all night and stopped at the entrance to some disidious forests.
"Here."
Upon exploring into deeper areas, the team heard a scuttling noise.
Everyone take a Perception test.

49, fail.

Contemplating stealing your Holy Water

Anders catches a glimpse of Torg eyeing up the vial of blessed water hanging from his belt

"I wouldn't bother friend, it's not got any alcohol in it"

Can still make beer with it.

No cause for alarm. Just some rats scuttling by our feet. The team venture further into the forest. A hazy fog hangs above various ponds. Strange insects glow with a faint light.
Eventually the team encounter a fork in the trees.
One path disappears under thorns and other brambles. The other, has squashed leaves and mukky paths.
"Where thost ye think we shall venture?"

I don't like getting my feet wet.

"Gentlemen, I believe if we are here to hunt down the scourge that infests this here wood then we should follow what appears to be the tracks left on the path, I don't fancy hacking my way through brambles and thorny thickets. I sense there is danger afoot"

(OOC - AKA My Sigmar sense is tingling!  )

It seems we agree in the trekked path? Ok.
The team ventures Even deeper into the forest, until they come across a corpse.
"That ghastly smell! What is that?.. A body?"
The team rush over to inspect the mangled remains.
"It's...just...a young lad"

"Search his pockets, might give us some indication of who he were, or what he was doing here."

"It's a boy! Be naught more then pebbles in his pockets. The forces of Darkness are strong here. I will not hold it against you if any of you leave here. The Dark Forces here are of great potency here".
Storm-Gale stared as not a soul left his side.
"Truly warriors of age-old tale"
The team continue down the trekked path, and they encounter a strange creature howling in the darkness.
"Get down!" Storm-Gale whispered.
We could attempt to sneak past it, or kill it. Yer call"

"That is obviously a creature spawned by the darker powers of this world, we cannot leave here while it still draws breath. It must be destroyed, if you feel you cannot handle the task I shall smite him down with our Lord's righteous fury!"

Anders said as he slowly in unclasps his mace with a look of disgust in his eyes

"I'll see if I can get a bit closer to see what we're up against."

Cortez tries to sneak closer to the creature without being spotted:

Sneak roll = 11 (Shweet! snake eyes! )

I find cover and point my gun at it.

Ok, I pass a perception test and can now describe the creature:
It has two legs, each very muscular, but skinny,as though running was it's feat. It has a hunched body, with it's spine visable. It has a horse shaped head, but no horns or hooves.
"Do we kill it?"

(Quickly! Scour the forum for someone that want's to roll an assassin!)

Anders moves over to some cover where he has a clear line of sight to the beast and feels his anger rise as he takes a closer look at the fiendish creature stood before him.

"Sigmar has lead me here to do his work and that I shall, no creature of chaos shall stand so long as I draw breath!" Anders says as he stands up with mace in hand, the other outstretched. He mutters his prayers fast and quietly. As his holy power builds his eyes and hand begin to glow with brilliant light.

(OOC - I'm gonna blast this beasty in a truly fanatical sigmarite fashion. So I'm gonna use my Sword of the Empire to send him some hurt!

Prayer roll = wp 5 (includes my bonus from favoured of sigmar) + 7 = 12 success!

Damage roll = 9 + 4 = 13)

The holy blade surges forth towards the beast like creature with blinding speed

The beast lets out a murderous howl, the sword impaling the beast. Bending down on all fours, it rushes forward to Anders and:
Bites for 3 damage
Claws for 4 damage.
Quickly Cpt. Stormgale pulls out his pistol and fires
31 hit
16 damage.
The beast gurgles in its blood as it dies.
"That was close, but we must make haste, we might have alerted other attention"
Pressing onwards, the team have reached a grassy part if the forest.
"Strange, the grass seems dry" There is a large amount of trees blocking any light now, and it aapears there are many routes to be taken.
"Any idea as to how we should progress?"

Having taken some serious damage from the beast that had assaulted Anders he takes time to address his wounds

(OOC - I'm going to cast heal on myself. Healing Prayer roll = WP 4 + 1 + 8 = 13. Just what the doctor ordered! That should put me back to full health right? )

Feeling the healing powers bestowed upon him by Sigmar Anders feels revitalised and ready to continue with the endeavour.

I make my way back to the group and look for a path.  I also note that one should not look directly at a giant flaming priest.

Hehe. Yes Anders, thats correct!
(As a pointer, you know you can voluntarily take Perception, Wisdom etc. tests to get clues and hints. This IS about YOU guys

Cortez tries to figure out what path would be the best to take:

"They all look the same to me, let's just pick one and go!"

Anders surveys his surroudings looking for any clues as to were they should go next

Ok, I'l nudge us in a direction.
"The grass here is stamped on, we should take this path!"
Hurrying, the team runs down a path.
Suddenly, Stormgale stops.
"Dont move."
(Everyone take an Agility test to see if you stand still)

I have an agility of 10. Roll=59.  Nope.  Really hope that isn't in "accidentally drop a live grenade" territory.

Agil Test: 75

hmmm...  that can't end well...

Would I be correct in assuming it's rolled on Will Power? Don't appear to have Wisdom on my stats sheet

Agility roll = 37.... A totally unsurprising fail

"HOOOOOOOOWL!"
A pack of wolves dart towards the team, gnashing with tooth and claw.
I take 4 damage.
Torg takes 2 damage.
Cortez takes 3 damage.
Anders takes 4 damage.

Anders takes a bite on the leg from one of the ravenous wolves. He feels a surge of anger rise up in him, he tries to calm himself but it is for naught. He has always hated hounds and wolves ever since he was a child. Anders decides enough is enough and attempts to smite them with the fury building inside him. Surrounded he knows what he must do.

He takes a long deep breath, infusing his anger with holy power and....

(OOC - Praying Voice of the Emperor

Casting Roll = 5 + 8 = 13... success, God I love Favoured of Sigmar!
Damage Roll = 9!!!!! + 8 = 17.... I believe the technical term is OWNED!!!!  )

"IN HIS NAME!" Anders roars, unleashing a wave of raw holy energy which bursts out in all directions. Anders puffs and pants as his prayer takes a lot out of him. He draws his mace and takes a ready stance on chance the wolves survive his assault.

Stab twice! (I'm assuming they are to close for me to use a gun).  93.....using a fate to reroll that. 75.  Still a massive miss.  Second one 63.  Nope.  Although I think I hear hoof beats.......

"Damn dogs!"

Cortez attacks with his sword:

Hit: roll = 65  nvm

2nd attack
Hit roll: 66

You see at what the wolves were protecting, the armour of a knight.
Bringing him back into consciousness, Stormgale asks him;
"Where does thoust hail from?"
Recieving no reply, Stormgale turns to the Lions,
"What shall we do? We best not leave him here, he seems unwell, but I can't seem to trust him. Ye decide. I'm going to scout ahead just in case"
(Gaan, your up. Convene with your team and fill us in onnyour backstory)

I start poking him with a stick.

Anders glances over at the knight who appears to be ok so he starts to address his own wounds before attending to the needs of his companions.

(Healing Prayer = 5 + 9 = 14. That'll be me back to full health then!)

Anders feels Sigmars power sap him of his strength a little, as he tries to catch his breath he addresses his companions.

"Fear not Gentlemen, I shall attend to your wounds in due course" Anders says with a smile.

"I'm going to learn to play the tuba!"

Cpt. Stormgale is startlef to hear a tuba sound back where the team is.
"Torg," he muttered.

"This bloke's quite the silent type aint he?"

"Are we sure he is really awake?"

Cortez starts poking the stranger with a stick...

(Poke him with a log for better effect 

I tie him to my tuba so I can carry him along with us.  I also invent the sousaphone at the same time!

Anders now turns his attention to Cortez

"Be still whilst I cleanse your wounds" Anders said gently whilst inspecting the damage.

(Healing Prayer on Cortez = WP 5 + 5 = 10)

Anders rubs his hand over the wounds Cortez had suffered, as he does so they glow with a faint light and the cuts and bite marks seemingly disappear

Few questions: 1) Are we going to ignore the maybe dead guy that I'm carrying around and get on with the quest? 2) What level do I have to be to craft some very large brass tubes? 3) What's the stealth penalty for having a tuba and a mostly dead guy (a "Torgaphone") strapped around me?

Anders now turns his attention to Torg.

As with Cortez Anders imbues his hands with a portion of Sigmar's power and washes away Torg's wounds

Cpt. stormgale stolls back to see the wounded knight not moving. Torg fashioning designs for what appeared to be a tuba, Anders healing and praying, and Cortez kicking his feet up in a relaxed state.
"If he has not stirred, we must press on with our quest, our enemy is advancing, so we must strike soon!
Leave him, if he walketh, he shall find us. If not, we collect him in our return. Do ye agree?"

Sounds great!  (I still say he is strapped to my Torgaphone though).

"Well, let's not stand on ceremony then lads."

Cortez makes his way over to the captain.

"Lets move."
The team moves along, an odd sound clinking sound coming from Torg heaving the knight barely reaches their ears. The team venture extremely deep into the forest, and stop when they hear a pounding sound hit the ground.
"Get down and stay still! They be nearing us!"
(Everyone take an Agility test.)

74! Nope.

(Agility test =  50.... fail!)

I will however take this opportunity to pray for our stout captain and heal his wounds

(Healing Prayer of Captain Stormgale - WP 5 + 10.. well bugger me!)

"Captain, it seems Sigmar smiles upon you this day" Anders says softly with a smile.

Anders imbues his hands with divine power and washes away the wounds inflicted upon him by the Wolf Pack further back along the path.

Uh oh,
The pounding sound grows nearer, until the team see a mighty beast walk towards them.
In an instant of blind fury, the horned minotaur charges, barrelling down the path
Torg is hit
Cortez is hit.
Torg is hit.
Anders is hit.
Stormgale is hit.
Everyone takes 4 damage and is now Concussed (-5 to Ws and Bs tests)
Everyone may now attack the minotaur.

Shoot twice!  First shot= 41 miss.  Second=49.  Am I doing something wrong 

Charge the beast and attack!

(Your kidding me?! I just finished healing everybody!!  )

Anders loses his composure, he had nearly exhausted himself before healing his companions' wounds and now he realized what he faced.

He draws his mace with a look of utter hatred in his eyes, the beast reminded him of the form his brother took on after offering his fealty and soul to the Blood God.

"Be gone foul creature!!, You shall feel the full fury of my wrath!!" Anders shouted , pointing his mace towards the Minataur in a challenging fashion.

(I'm gonna try and blast his ass with some holy pew pew, more commonly referred to as Sword of the Empire

Prayer = WP 5 + 3 = 8 Only just goes off!

Damage = 6 + 9 = 15)

Anders suspects this might draw the foul beast's attention and takes a ready stance to brace for an oncoming attack.

The sword pierces the minotaurs muscular hide, and is later shot in the knee by Stormgale's pistol. The beast flails in rage, knocking Stormgale off his feet.

Anders, still seething with anger lets loose another Sword of the Empire.

(Prayer = WP5 + 3 = 8

Damage = 10 + 3 = 13)

Then re-assumes his ready stance

The minotaur lets loose a large moan, and begins to haul its mass around with each attack. It  crashes down on Anders, dealing no wounds (but you now have a walking ox on you).

(Oooh I see how it is, pick on the Holy Man  )

Welp, since I have abysmal WS and I don't want to shoot the priest, can I try cross training to bard?  Maybe try playing the Iron Man song?

Whilst under the beast's body a strange tune comes to Anders mind and he can't help but hum along to it's strange melody.

"My Sigmar works in mysterious ways"

(Oh and Torg, shoot away! I can always heal myself  )

With a loud squelching of brains and eyes, the minotaur slumps to the ground, gooey liquid pouring out of where it viewed it's enemies.
"That was... Close. Come, we must push on! That was no minotaur when I saw it last...."
The team hurry down a path, eventually noticing that the path is well smoothed and used. The team hurry ip a steep mound of trodden leaves and dirt black earth. Below them they see...
Everyone take a Perception test yay!

39.  Torg is distracted by the beer stein butterfly again.

Why do I get the feeling this is going to hurt me again?

Well, ye didn't fail TOO bad...
An enclosed cave lays before you, it's gaping maw causing eerie music from the wind. It is inknow how deep the cave is.
Outside the cave are 4 men sitting around a fire, drinking something.
"What shall we do? We need to get in the cave, but I fear drawing too much attention to ourselves could be fatal. Yer call"

Anders dresses his wounds in preperation for the oncoming challenges that may await them in the cave ahead.

(Healing Prayer = WP 5 + 6 = 11)

He feels the light of Sigmar infuse his body healing all wounds. He then walks over to Cortez and prepares to heal his wounds as well.

(OOC - I'll have some trouble posting in the next 5 days or so, going on holiday and the place were going has unreliable internet conns to say the least)

I have a plan!  Let me toss several grenades into the forest!  The noise should draw the men away from the cave entrance and hopefully not attract a horde of beastmen.

Anders gives Torg a stern look

"I believe that not best Torg, we all value our legs and there is only so much Sigmar's powers will allow me to heal"

I'm going to be gone for the next 3 days.  Christmas stuff.

So, the team stay atop the hill, out of sight for what felt like an eternity.

Can I take this opportunity to get somebody healed up? If so use the following

Indeed. So heres what happens:
The team venture down, where they are greeted with merry drink and some festive cheer. For a week.

Congratulations, you are the first person on a forum to make me do a spit take.

Anders shakes off the worst of his festive hangover. He knew it was a bad idea challenging Torg to a drinking contest but t'was the season to be merry! He gathers his things and prepares to continue the adventure.

Torg attempts to make a IV drip for everyone.

(OOC - Has this sort of died or are we still on a break?)

I could......light something on fire?  Or maybe come up with a back story for my character?

Well we can continue without Maanaam but itl be tough with only three of us. Its upto you guys.

Less people to heal I suppose but the fights could get pretty rough to be honest. Has Mannnamm officially quit or is he just busy with other things??

I don't think Torg is strong enough to carry a Knight and Cortez around as well as his rifle, tuba and pyromaniac supplies

The team skulks down to some trees out of view of the men.
"Right, we can take some out by shooting them from afar, but we would have to get into position. Torg you stay here and rests on the rock, take out the man furthest from the campfire. Anders you can stab one with your prayers from over there, in the bushes. Cortez, you must get close to them and get the one closest to the campfire. I'll get the last one from that tree over there. Sound okay?"

Sounds like it could work, although we may need a backup plan if(when) I miss.

Cortez draws his blade in readiness.

"I'll wait for the ranged folks to get into position, then I'll try to sneak in close and engage the enemy after the first volleys had been fired."

"Just don't hit me in the back with that thing..."  Cortez motions to Torg eyeing his handgun.

Anders gets into his designated position and crouches low to remain hidden from view. The quickly thumbs through his prayer book and tucks it away. He signals he is ready for the coordinated attack.

1st shot: 76 miss.  2nd shot= 51 miss.  Ouch

Anders drops his head into his hand and sighs...

"How did Torg get into the Questing Lions with shooting skills like that?... Well It looks like it's up to me then."

Anders stands up revealing himself with his right hand held out in front of him. His eyes begin to glow bright yellow and golden energy builds up into his hand as he begins to chant his prayer to Sigmar. As the power builds to it's maximum Anders turns to face the enemy Torg had targeted with his rifle and....

(Sword of the Empire Prayer Attempt = WP 4(+1) + 10 = 15 Success! Damage = 5 + 9 = 14)

unleashes a blast of holy fury that screams towards it's intended victim. The brilliant sword burns with righteous fire and strikes it's foe with crushing force. Anders, realizing he may have given away his position draws his mace and gets ready for a potential melee with one of their foes.

As Cortez starts to sneak towards the enemy a sudden blasting sound makes him turn on his heels.  As he looks back he sees a blazing player flying from the priest's hands and the dwarf standing with a smoking gun...

"Ok, well... I'll just wait here with you guys then until the enemy reaches us..."

Cpt. Stormgale shoots 1 shot: Miss! (boo)
"Charge!" The enemy ready their weapons and charge at us. We might get one more shot in perhaps?

How far away am I?

(OOC - Did my Prayer do anything last time round or did it just sort of flop? I'm also considering a counter charge so I'd be keen to know who is in range)

(Brain Fart) The sword lascerates a man's arm off 
Torgthey are within 6m

Cortez braces himself and mentally prepares himself for the worst...

Anders looks over at Cortez who seems to have made up his mind and is taking a stand, He then looked over at Torg who he could barely see through the smoke bellowing out of his Rifle.

"Sigmar bless me this day, let thy glory inspire great deeds from my companions" Anders thought to himself.

Anders grits his teeth, tightened his grip on his Mace and charges the closest enemy.

"FOR SIGMAR!!!!" He yells and he rushes through the bushes towards the foe.

(OOC - Cant remember how charging works, not my usual bag but I figure no guts no glory lol! Do I get attacks on the charge?)

(What's the to hit penalty for swinging around 300 pounds of knight stuffed tuba? I know how hard it is to carry one of those things, much less swing it.)

Torg runs forward flailing his tuba around until he reaches the camp fire. The two nearby men ran forward to him and attacked
Torg you are hit twice, and take 9 damage and you are Stunned

"Torg! Be on thy guard! I am on my assist!"
I attack one bandit with a pistol, but miss.
"Blast my accursed eye!"

Seeing Torg offer himself up as bait Anders quickly resorts to his prayer book and focuses his mind. He holds out his hand channeling the power of Sigmar to heal Torg.

(Prayer Attempt = Wp 4 + 1 + 5 = 10 Success! Torg is healed 5 Wounds. )

Wish a flash of light the Prayer is complete and Torgs wounds begin the healing process. Anders sighs...

"I can see this is going to be a common occurance"

Anders takes a ready stance in the event of an attack.

One man focuses on Stormgale, only to be cut down swiftly whilst the other wallops Torg with a wooden club
Torg you are hit twice and take 6 damage and are Stunned again...

(I'm helping!)

Focusing his will Anders attempts to heal Torg (yet again!)

Prayer attempt = Wp (4 + 1) + 7 = 12 Success! 7 Wounds are healed.

Last man hits Torg twice, but Stormgale intercepts and blocks the second.
Torg takes 3 damage

Noticing Captain Stormgale entering the fray Anders turns his attention to his wounds.

Healing Prayer Attempt = (Wp4 +1) + 5 = 10, Success! 5 Wounds are Healed.

Probably sound like an idiot, but who's wounds exactly?

Yours 

Cpt. Stormgale skips around with glee and sings melodic songs of happy smiley faces.
"Wait a second...Good God"

Anders now tends to his own wounds

Healing Prayer attempt - Wp(4+1) + 10 = 15!! Success! 10 Wounds healed. 

Anders now fully regenerated takes a ready stance and braces himself to once again enter the fray

Is it my turn?

(OOC - I believe it is, you've skipped a turn for being stunned and can now get that tuba back in action!  )

Well then since I'm completely useless in melee, can I go into a defensive stance now?  Or should I stop asking questions and just roll some dice

The men enter the caverns, the path a very grainy gravel uncommon in caves. The walls are a strange shade of green with deep pigments of green.
The team receive Three Actions each, to do whatever they want such as heal, search etc.

Anders takes the time they have gained to heal the wounded.

Healing Attempt on Torg = (Wp 4+1) + 9 = 14, Success! 9 Wounds Healed.
Healing Attempt on Cpt. Stormgale = (Wp 4+1) + 10 = 15, Success! 10 Wounds Healed.
Healing Attempt on Anders = (Wp 4+1) + 5 = 10, Success! 5 Wounds Healed.

Anders, now drained of energy takes a short respite to regain his strength whilst waiting for his companions to decide what their next move should be.

(OOC - That should be everybody pretty much at full health. You guys anyways! Feel free to go on another suicide mission now Torg!  )

Torg, your search does not return many secrets of the cave except that;
It is made of an igneous rock
The cave is relatively new
There could be signs of digging

The men press forward, navigating many winding pathways and even sometimes step-toeing across gorges.
"The fall is great here men, so I advise in abstaining from viewing the descent too much"
The team come to a halt when: They hear something.

Ok after coming back from internetless land let the games continue!
The sound becomes much louder, like a large humming. Soon, a beat can be heard, rather it is felt than heard.
"Can ye feel that ghastly sensation? I fear they are close to awakening whatever it is that is down here. Men, I shall be honest, this here chasm has many secrets to find, but, this place is a lock. A prison. It holds the ifrit of unholy spirits inside, and if Chaos taint corrupt it... Well I fear the worse. We must advance faster now"
The team speed down pathways littered with bones and corpses, the beat becomes much louder and even more painful. The team enter a large, circular cavern, in where cackling, psychotic men are performing a strange ritual.
The men immediately notice you and scream louder, alerting some Gors to your presence.
3 Gors appear and attack everyone.
Torg is hit twice and takes 5 damage
Anders is struck once for 3 damage
Maan is attacked twice for 7 damage.

(OOC - Only 3 Damage? They must fear the holyman! And rightly so!  )

Anders recoils in pain after the foul Beastmen assault him and his companions. At the sight of the unholy creature his rage builds. He inhales a gust of air whilst channeling his holy fury.

Damage Roll = 7 + 8 = 15)

As his lungs fill to bursting point, Anders turns to face the foul abominations and shouts.

"IN HIS NAME!!"

The Prayer is unleashed into the air surrounding the faithful, a wave of holy force surges forth crashing into everything nearby. Anders quickly regains his breath and takes up a ready stance with his Holy Mace in hand.

"If Sigmar's power wont smite these abberations then I shall have to" Anders thinks to himself.

(I'm waiting to see if you guys can kill all three of them before I go.  That way I can chuck a grenade at the crazy(er) people.)

Anders, you manage to severely wound your assailant but the other two resist a large portion due to their Unnatural Hide.

Wounded one fails to hit Anders and takes enough fall damage to die (LOL)
Torg your hit with a headbutt that deals no damage but you are Stunned for 1 turn.

Anders stares at the Gor corpse lying at his feet and smirks.

"I'd call that justice if I ever saw it. Sigmar saw fit to have the foul creature smite himself!" Anders yelled to his companions.

With Mace in hand Anders charges the Gor assaulting Torg in an attempt to free him from the Gor's attention. With his Sigmarite Steel Mace in both hands Anders swings for the Gor and....

Damage = (4+7+8) + 25 = 40 +10 for Chaos Creatures
Total = 50 Damage!  )

A bloody pulp is left dangling off of Ander's mace, whilst what remained of a torso slumps to the floor with a disgusting slosh sound. The room begins to grow dark all of a sudden, as the chanting becomes louder and more manic.
"We must stop the heathens from unleashing the-"

Stormgale is struck and flung to a wall with a bone breaking crack. What stood in his original position stands an enraged Minotaur. Muscles and spikes bulging from every orifice, the team ready themselves.
Everyone gets 1 free action as he's slow as hell.

Grenade (1...2.....5!).  I rolled a 9, and my strength is 22.  Do I hit it?

After wiping the remains of the Gor from Ol' Painful, Anders notices the Minotaur is distracted so he decides to take this chance to heals Torg's wounds.

(Healing Prayer Attempt = Wp (4 + 1) + 6 = 11 Success!
6 Wounds Healed.)

With a flash of light Anders' Holy prayer succeeds and washes away Torgs wounds, with that done Anders grips his mace tight and takes up a ready stance to brace himself in the event he is the subject of this Minotaurs rage next.

(OOC - I figure this is the more sensible option as Maan hasn't been around for a while. If he gets seriously inured I'll drag his ass to safety and heal him up then! )

Torg you hit the Minotaur and launch him 7ft back ( ) and you deal a total of 2d10 + 1d10 + 5 damage.

56 + 6 + 5=67

Oh sorry Torg, I guess damage doesn't actually follow a normal 2d10 stat roll.
In stat rolling, you pick your unit and ten dice seperately before rolling (which I assume you rolled a 5 followed by a 6)
But in damage rolls they sum of both dice is used, i.e no Ten dice is nominated.
So rather your attack damage looks like:
11 (2d10) + 6 (d10) + 5= 22 damage. (Plus the normal 7 for Explosives)
The minotaur is launched back in a bloody pile, but he seems to be surfacing

Anders notices through the smoke and debris the Minotaur is still alive although it appears to be on it's last legs as it struggles to get back on it's feet.

"Not so fast!" Anders yells at the beast with one arm outstretched. Anders focuses his power into the palm of his hand, aiming it at the beast he recites his prayers.

Damage Roll = 7+5 = 12)

The Minotaur is pierced with a holy blade, infuriating the beast.
The Minotaur charges you Anders.

With great difficulty, Stormgale removes the debris from himself, and charges the beast to aid Anders
"Foul creature, I shall send thee back to wherst thy came!"
With a mighty blow from his sword, Stormgale causes the beast to roar in anguish, releasing Anders.
In the beast's rage, it bulldozes Stormgale through Torg and some nearby cultists.

There has to be SOMETHNG that I can chuck a grenade at.......can the other guys take cover in my tuba? Oh wait, the knight is still in there.

(OOC - What about those cultists that are skulking nearby?)

Anders winces in pain after taking such a serious hit from the Minotaur, he quickly recites his prayers in order to heal himself.

Torg has taken 4 damage so far from the Gors and the Minotaur, Anders if I recall correctly your okay with full health and Stormgale is in critical damage 
In regards to Torg throwing the grenade, you will hit the minotaur on a 31 or less, but you can hit the cultist group on a 48 or less (Swarms cause so much attention lol)

(OOC -  I took 11 from the Minotaur and healed back 10 so I should have 1 wound taken?)

Anders turns to aid Cpt. Stormgale and attempts to heal his wounds.

Rising to his feet, Stormgale mutters something under his breath, and fires 5 times at the minotaur.
"You stupidly fowl creature of the most unclean of all hellspawn's beastly mothers! I smite thee in the name of the Emperor, in the name of Sigmar, and in the honour of the Empire of Man! Now die, ghastly beast!"
Each bullet magically set alight, both piercing the minotaur's tough hide and burning it. After each bullet causing a large gushing wound, the beast slumps to a bloody pile of smolten fur.
At this moment, the chanting stops.
"No...we are too late"
The room rids itself of light, as though the flames feared what you await them. An eerie fog covers the floor, hugging the feet of the warriors. The fog eventually begins to glow, revealing a hooded figure strapped to a large stone in the centre of the cave. Arcane runes scrawled over their body, with skulls and other totems surrounding them, they let out a scream of terror. 4 hooded figures emerge, one holding a book, another a grail, the third carrying a pus ridden rat corpse and the final revealing a blood caked dagger. Above the sacrifice, a tiny rift opens. The team avert their eyes to the harsh light, which still leaves a burning sensation.
"NO!" Dashing forth, Stormgale shoves the cultists out of the way. Looking back, a large scar has appeared on his face.
"Head North, and all will be explained! Good luck!" Stormgale jumps into the portal, and with a loud clap of thunder, everything goes white.

The team awake, finding themselves scratched and bruised.
"H....help....me"

Hearing the cry for help Anders looks around to try and access the situation.

(Perception Test = 19, Success!)

The room looks empty.No corpses or cultists, only the stone mast remaining with the sacrifice still on it.
"He...lp......me.....please"

Throwing beer at the problem has always worked for me.

(OOC - Hmmm... suspicious... Chaos Cultists leaving the sacrifice alive?! I'm half tempted to introduce him to the blunt end of my mace! To put him out of his misery of course!  )

Removing the hood, Torg sees a bruised and cut boy staring back at him. Startled at this, Torg readies a weapon only to be interrupted by the boy.
"Wait! Please listen to me! I am not a heretic! I.... I am Lancelot Stormgale."

"Did you say Stormgale?!"

Anderes rushes over and lets the boy down from the sacrificial altar. He then offers up a short prayer to Sigmar for allowing the boy to endure the torture he underwent. He then Prays to heal Torg's wounds.

Anders turns and addresses Lancelot.

"Are you alright boy? Tell us, what did they do to you? Do you know what happened to Captain Stormgale?"

"Thank you.... I should explain a bit. I am Lancelot, son of Ferdinand Stormgale. I studied at the Knight Academy, and I would graduate soon. Not too long ago, our school was attacked by Shadowmancers, and...." swallowing back some tears the boy continues "they got us."
"They took us somewhere, underground. The beat us, broke us, and then healed us to do it again. They would make us choose who should be the "one". It would have been my beloved. So I went instead. I swallowed some liquid, and I woke up here. Father, he saved me. But. I don't know how he knew, for I am not a mage. All I know is that he is somewhere now. And I believe I have an idea as to find him"

"By Sigmar's Grace! You have been through a lot. As have we and your father is a companion of ours who shared in our trials. We must attempt to rescue him! What say you Torg?"

Sure! It's not like today can get any worse! (Drinks) I shoulder my tube wrapped knight and prepare to move.

Anders tends his things, packing up and ready to follow Torg and Lancelot.

Everyone Levels up! Unifrtuneatly, ye can't buy new ar,our etc. because were out in the middle of nowhere, so I'll have the new mission up Tomorrow so check back tomorrow evening and It'll be up!
Ofcourse, if new players are reading this then feel free to join in!

Can we level up stats or gain new abilities etc from our level ups or is that still a no no because of being stuck out in the middle of nowhere?

Also do we get any achievements or stat increases etc for leveling up?

Ye can level up as normal (so choose your selected stat etc.) but unfortuneatly very few achievements this round:
Hug Me! For surviving a grapple with a Minotaur, Anders receive either +1 Strength or Toughness.
Frag Out! For Torg's 3 Cultist kill count, you receive +1 Damage for all Grenades when dealing with a Group (A band of 5 or more enemies)
