Greasus Goldtooth, Overtyrant of the Ogre Kingdoms
What dissapoints me about the new Ogre book is that they didn't improve Greasus. He was a useless fat lump then, and he's a useless fat lump now. This makes me a sad panda, because his fluff is so awesome, yet his rules and model makes him look like a lazy tyrant, rather than the mighty Overtyrant.
Here's some rules I considered for Greasus:
(Note, with these rules, Greasus would stand on a regular 40mm base, rather than his Chariot base.) Greasus Goldtooth -530pts
M WS BS S T W I A Ld 6 6 3 6 6 6 4 6 10
Equipment: Sceptre of the Titans Heavy Armour Overtyrant's Crown
Special Rules Fear Indomitable Will Hoardmaster Overpowering Mass Goldtooth Tribe
TROOP TYPE: Monstrous Infantry (Special Character) SPECIAL RULES: Fear.
Indomitable will: In the presence of the Overtyrant, Ogres will fight to the bitter end. Greasus (and his unit) have the special rule Stubborn. Hoardmaster: Unless Greasus is fleeing, all friendly units within 18" of Greasus (including the Overtyrant himself), add +1 to their combat result scores, and automatically pass rally tests. Overpowering Mass The Overtyrant's weight alone is a force to be reckoned with. Greasus has D3+3 Impact Hits. Goldtooth Tribe The Ogres that follow Greasus tend to be richer and more confident than other Ogres. In an army that includes Greasus, Ironguts cost 40 points per model, rather than the usual 43.
MAGIC ITEMS Overtyrant's Crown: Talisman. The Overtyrant's Crown gives Greasus a 4+ Ward save. In addition, Greasus and any unit he joins have the Immune to Psychology special rule. Sceptre of the Titans Magic Weapon. All close combat attacks made with this weapon, apart from Impact Hits and Stoms, have a Strength of 10 and the Multiple Wounds (D3) special rule.

That's good, but I think that he's be more like 600 and change his impact hits to D3 +1. If your dropping IGs points, you can't make him cheap. Also, you solved the biggest problem of greasus that isn't allowed by his model. He is M4... His model is riding gnoblars so you can't do much about that. They should have introduced a new model and made his gnoblar throne an upgrade with some awesome abilities.

I like the thinking about the Goldtooth Tribe rule, but feel like it's a bit too good since IGs are one of our most solid and dependable units. Perhaps just changing it to 'Any Irongut unit may take a magic banner of X points' would be better- so if you wanted to take lots of IGs they could all have magic banners? Or even say that one unit of Ironguts could take the Rune Maw, so that your BSB doesn't need to.
I also think that the D3+3 Impact hits is pretty gross; impact hits already cause a lot of carnage, so maybe D3+1 would be more balanced, but if he rolls a 10+" for his charge distance he does 2D3 impact hits instead?
Six attacks at S10 might be a tad too much for the fattest fatty. This should probably be 4 attacks (5 at the most); if you did drop it to four attacks, and changed the other bits I mentioned, I think you could get away with dropping his points to 500, which means you could take him in 2000pt games

Yeah, Goldtooth tribe rule could be OP.
Stealing Mega-bobs idea and adding to it.
Goldtooth Tribe: The Ogres that follow Greasus tend to be richer and more confident than other Ogres. In an army that includes Greasus, any Ogre unit may purchase Heavy Armor for 5 pts per model and any Irongut unit may purchase a magic banner up to 50 points.

I like this version of the rule. It makes IFist Bulls have 4+/6++ and our Ironguts can grab a few different good banners. This, with the other rules mentioned, would make me want to actually play Greasus. Or, heck, it doesn't have to be any Irongut unit, but maybe they could have an additional unit with a magic banner (so 2 units could, instead of just 1). I don't necessarily seeing a Greasus army running MSU (nothing's small about him!), so having 2 larger Irongut packs just seems fluffwise more... Greasy...?
However, I feel that he should be more expensive than 500; honestly, he's the Overtyrant, he should be fielded in 3k+ games, since those are the "king's retinue" grand armies. All you'd have to do is give him a way to avoid or heavily negate cannonfire, and he'll be worth his egregious amounts of points (and flab ).

Yeah, that's probably a better rule. All these rules + cannonball resistance might be a bit much! Just take Ironcurse on your BSB or something.

He doesn't really need specific cannon resistance. Look out Sir is enough for a guy that's going to be bunkered.

I would keep greasus the same as he is now, but make the following changes:
1) Gnoblar hoarder: He may join gnoblar units. After all, he is being carried by them. I see a large sea of gnoblars and his throne being carried somewhere in the middle. 2) gnoblar hurler: Each shooting phase, he can literally pick up d6 gnoblars and throw them. It would be 18" range, str 4, AP. For every one thrown, remove a gnoblar
I don't think he should get M6, or be really badass fighting. I see him as a lazy overlord. He simply sits back, on top of some hill, squishing gnoblars with every movement, commanding his army below.

Actually reducing ironguts in costs isn't a good mechanic. Maybe their wealth could be represented by allowing ironguts to take magic banners not just one.

Or maybe the option to buy plate armor?
Goldtooth Tribe: In an army that includes Greasus, any Ogre unit may purchase Heavy Armor for 5 pts per model and any Irongut unit may purchase Ogre Plate armor(4+ armor save) for 5 points per model. Any Irongut unit may also purchase a magic banner up to 50 points.
