Wow, you can buy the Ultramarines. No, not a Tactical Squad, not a Battleforce, not a Company. You can buy the entire freaking chapter.

Wow... um... uh... how many points is that 100K? That is the biggest waste of money ever... you could buy an army of each race for that price...

Exactly! Let's not even take into consideration how much glue and paint it would use to build that army. When would you even get the opportunity to use that many models!?

This is clearly not something for the average Joe. What this is, gentlemen, is a cheaper-than-usual midlife crisis. If money is no object there's many worse ways of whiling away the long hours 'till the grave.
I don't suffer from mental instability. In fact, I enjoy it immensely.
Gutlord Inquisitor: FORUM FIGHT! Me, I'm betting on the stronghold. Sure, they're outnumbered with thick skulls, stubborn bull-headedness and an inflated sense of self-worth, but hey, they're Ogres.

Just a little Over the top imho.
Even some of the army deals they have already been doing recently are quite expensive for a one off purchase. All well and good if your single and have no major finical commitments and no children to bring up but most average joe's just can't afford the constant increase in prices GW are putting out. But hey.
Sorry rant over

I want to take some time (not really) and add up all those boxes to find out if it's really the largest ever one-click collecting they've done or if it actually saves you any money from buying the sum of its parts.
Actually, I did it. For once there is a substantial saving to make, but still, I'm not going to waste £7000 on Space Marines.

Honestly, if I had the money, I would do it. It's a good saving, and a great collection to own

After all, painting 100 night goblins is something you do in the morning just before you are off to work.
And I think you missed a 0 when you wrote 11 armies. The correct nr should be 110 armies I would think, based on your painting speed.
Necrotix16 Sep 2013
Yeah, it's not something you'd ever really want to own, I mean, you would never need 47 Rhinos (there's more than that due to the fact there are 6 strike forces in there too). Also, the rather sad person in me (other than the one that added it all to a shopping cart in the first places) noted that there are no scout bikes in the chapter deal, yet the ones on the web site are painted in UM colours. But if they're not in the deal which represents the chapter, surely there can't be any?!?!?! Just one of those things that made me chuckles (that and £500 of Land Raiders).

I really would want to own it though Maybe not Ultramarines, but certainly wouldn't say no to owning my own Chapter! It's one of those "If I won the lottery, I would buy..." sort of things

Just imagine how much room it would take to store it though and if you're honest, would you ever get it fully painted?

if you can afford to buy that, you can afford to get the whole thing professionally painted for you

If I had the money to buy it, I would also spend the money to have a professional painting company like Blue Table paint it for me.

Yeah, if I had the money to buy it, I would definitely have the money to have it professionally painted too. The real issue would having the storage for it... As it is, I have three display cabinets in my room, and still lament the lack of space to have my models on display
Space Marines, or a Car? hmm....
I know which I would pick, and it wouldn't be able to get me to and from work...

What you could do is buy it up as the deal, then return it piece meal for other armies/vouchers therefore making yourself £900 worth of Warhammer! Bless there returns policy

That's a pretty great idea! £900 on top of the £7000 could be another two armies...
