I'M BAAAAACK!
So most of you probably won't recognize me though some may... used to be an ogre player a long time back and very much a forums regular at the time... times change, things happen, life throws everything in to flux and i'd moved away from the Strongholds embrace... until now
A quick rundown and introduction...
Started gaming a long time back with 40k & necromunda... have run & traded off pretty much every 40k army in different guises throughout that time
Eventually got in to fantasy, Chaos warriors primarily until Ogres came out and i really got in to them
Fantasy & 40k took a back seat locally as we all began with Warmahcine/Hordes and Malifaux (malifaux on break awaiting gencon delivery), Warpath, Dreadball, Evil Baby Orphanage and Munchkin
And here i am now, gradually dragging myself back to the 'hold
So what am i going to be putting up here... well people who recall will remember i have a habit of taking on too many projects at once and bouncing between them... yeah, that's still the case but i'm going to try to use updating this Gnoblog as an incentive to get some more work done
Main Projects:
- 40k True scale Salamanders - All bought, all assembled/converted, painting is moving at the typical glacial speeds
- Warpath Enforcers - Half assembled, no paint yet
- Hordes - Gatormen - minimal collection, need to base & paint
- Warmachine - Mercs - got quite a bit painted by a friend of mine, still need to keep working on them, will get pics up in the enxt week or two of what's completed... primarily Searforge
- Warmachine - Cygnar - Assembled, need to start painting - including the AWESOME Stormwall Colossal
- Malifaux - too many crew to count, got a Seamus crew in particular that's nearing completion that i'll get photographed, otehrwise currently awaiting on Nightmare Tara to arrive from Gencon
- KICKSTARTER - Wild West Exodus (Union) due to be arriving in a couple of months, looking forward to trying the syster
- KICKSTARTER - DEADZONE - This is a system that from the first glance i saw of it i knew i was going to be getting in to... and i've got no less than all 4 core factions arriving when they ship (including a double set of Enforcers i liked them that much)
And finally, somewhat at the bottom of the pile... i'm looking to get back in to Fantasy...
Currently debating between Elves (i have a handful of Wood elf figures, Mantic Elves & IOB high elves), Ogres (damn i loved running ogres but i'm loving the new mantic ones), and VC (soft spot for a horde of shambling undead)... so will likely be looking for some help/advice on deciding, planning & building that list
Last note for anyone who remembers from WAY back, i also have my 40k assassins project that i'm ressurecting, dug out all 2 dozen+ temple assassins and however many Death cultist reps i had planned and will be getting the conversion work sorted
So, not knowing who of you is still about yet, but particular greetings to Wildcard, Just Josh, Fantasy Freak, Corai and anyone else who i regularly discussed things with from back then

Dude! Welcome back!

It is so good to see another regular come back!
Good to see how your habit for having so many projects on the go is still going strong

Particularly glad to see someone else getting into Wild West Exodus
Looking forward to future updates matey!

After all, painting 100 night goblins is something you do in the morning just before you are off to work.
And I think you missed a 0 when you wrote 11 armies. The correct nr should be 110 armies I would think, based on your painting speed.

Hey dude, figured you'd likely be the first to reply somehow

Trust me, there's more projects that that too, just don't have the space/time to list them all

OK, first photo dump... my painted Warmachine mercenaries... my apologies for flash murdering these... Dip is shiny and the flash has washed them out where i was snapping shots at the gaming club
Rhulic first
Gorten & Driller

Wroughthammer & Basher

Gunbunnies - Blaster, 2 Gunners

Hammerfall Highshields

Herne & Johnne

my Alt Rockbottom, Thor & my alt Thor

Horgenhold Forgeguard complete

Another 10 Horgenhold Forgeguard pre-dip

And my Highborne Covenant mercenaries
custom Ashlynn, Nomad (magnetised as a Rover too), Eiryss & Harlan Versh

Closeup on the custom Ashlynn, i can't stand the poor pose on the normal ashlynn (
http://privateerpress.com/warmachine/gallery/mercenaries/warcasters/ashlynn-delyse)
the rest of the mercs are pre-dip as i need to order more dip... but...
Durgen Madhammer, Gudrun the Wanderer & Taryn di la rovissi

Mangler & Mule (and a bokur just on the side of the shot)

Gunmages (Gun Mage Captain Adept used instead of the normal UA Officer)

But wait... there's more
So a quick summary of some of the other stuff... mostly Malifaux now
Outcasts... Freikorps & 2 Ronin

2 of the lovely living dead ladies from my Seamus Crew... a dead doxy & Bete Noir

Dead Justice (Last year's gencon exclusive Nightmare Edition)

The lady herself

the Judge

The Marshalls

and "overkill"

then 2 conversions... Santiago (with the pistols) with an eye gouged out and his coat more ripped than normal)... and my ghoulish drill sergeant (head & weapon swap)

Another Nightmare edition i managed to track down... Lord Chompy Bits... on the left is the normal sculpt (missing 2 arms), and i can't see any reason i'd ever use him compared to the near enough full pound of metal that is the wonderfully monstrous Nightmare Chompy

and finally for tonight, my Hurn Headtaker from Heresy... painted by a friend for my birthday, i now need to base him suitably well to match

The dip really does wonders on the Mercenaries! They are superbly painted anyway, but the dip just adds another layer to it!

The Headtaker is such a beautiful sculpt! I can't believe I have never seen it before...

So glad this is back, I can definitely see it becoming one of my favourite blogs

Yeah, dip in general on warmachine turns out amazingly... otherwise the mercs are just absolutely flat colours, limited pallete, nothing fancy at all... got a whole bunch of Cygnar to crossover with the gun mages & precursor knights that will be Purple with the pale grey as an accent so it all ties in nicely... looking forward to tackling the Stormwall Colossal but need to get some normal things done first
The headtaker i was gutted when it turned out i'd missed the first limited run.... this is the second Hurn that Heresy has done and i'm really tempted to get another so i can mix up the armblade & spear options

Looking forward to seeing the Stormwall Colossal! It is one of my favourite Warmachine models...

They pale grey and purple sounds fantastic!
I may have to get one of the headtakers

Such a brilliant sculpt!
What did you get from GenCon?

I'm hopinig the effect of purple jacks will be quite striking and should tie the 2 forces together quite nicely... just got to get my finger out and assign time between the other stuff
Do it JJ, the headtaker is amazing and comes with different forearms & hands for whether you want blades retracted or extended... Heresy have some good stuff really quite reasonably priced, while the Headtaker is a bit more pricey it's a lovely sculpt
Lylyth box arrived yesterday... but have just come home to Nightmare Tara (the nothing beast is an immense sculpt), miss-step and a Viktoria box ordered for a club member... still to come is the V2 rulebook, couple of card decks and the University expansion that has some very nice bonus Rezzers models in
Randroid!! sorry i missed your name off the first post dude, good to see you're still around too
If i can take some better pics i'll be posting some more tonight of some random figures, truescale marines and maybe an assembled Malifaux v2 box...

OK, so it seems i'm not out of the bad habit about keeping things updated...
Been distracted from the tabletop with the prep work for a new DnD campaign at the moment so not much in terms of gaming, a little in terms of assembly that i promise i'll get some shots of up in the next couple of days
The other thing i've been distracted by is an awesome tactical PC game called FTL: Faster Than Light... it's tricky, it gets you absolutely hooked, it's on Steam... and i have a spare key thanks to buying game bundles and being sent the odd gift... if anyone wants it feel free to PM, but be warned it's quite addictive and frustrating at times
Finally something i'd recommend to any PC gamer or Android user who enjoys indie games is to check out the Humble Bundle... they put up bundles of games that you pay WHATEVER YOU WANT for and it's for charity to boot and there are some amazing deals
Anyway... next update will be pure tabletop gaming, i promise
