I don't recall every turn of my games but will give a small rundown.

Game 1  Middle Ground   (Bretonians)
Turn 1, I started first, moved my troops towards the center for the objective. Magic phase wasn't effective and no shooting. On his turn, no charges or movement, he had 1 magic user (lore of beast). 2 trebuchet that misfire and 20 bowmen causing 2 wounds on my bulls.
Turn 2, Gorger shows up towards his skirmish bowmen. No charges were declared, magic phase was on fire with the bangstick, bonecruncher (magic missile) and brain gobbler (panic test) against his 2 units of cavalry causing 1 of them to panic off the board. Lead belchers shot his fast cav but he passed his panic test. On his turn, no charges and or movement, nothing on magic, shooting both trebuchet bowmen towards my units which I all panic checks were successful.
Turn 3, Gorger Charges skirmisher, No charges since I stayed next to the objective. The butchers did all the work with magic missiles, bang stick and braingobbler which he had no cavalry left which a unit of men at arms were fleeing. His turn, rallied men at arms nothing on magic and shooting was not enough for panic.
Turn 4, I was in range for 2 units of guts to charge with maneaters leaving the tyrant with ironguts next to objective. Winning combat resolution as all unit overran. His turn a battle standard bearer charged a single butcher killing the butcher.
Turn 5, I charge his last bowman troops and he lost combat. The game was declared a massacre for the Ogres.

Game 2 Offending Unit   (Wood Elves)
Turn 1, He started, having an all tree except for Battle standard, unit of glade guards and a level 4 wizards, 2 treemen. 2 units of 3 treekin. This wasn't a good game since my friend played him the first game and told me to watch him. My opponent tried cheating 8-10 time which I had to look at his armybook and correct him which was reported to the judges later on. His dice rolling was very good which I had no match. My magic wasn't working much and my tyrant wasn't passing his fear checks for charging the treemens. On turn 6, the objective was to distroy a unit and get double their points which I did and he did not. The game was declared a barely a solid victory for the wood elves.

Game 3 Magic Flux   (Beast of Chaos)
Turn 1, I started by moving my troops up to 6 inches. I had a poor magic phase as the dice didn't work. On his turn, he charged my bulls with his 5 flying chaos furies as the lost CR and fail their Ld and crumbled. His magic wasn't too affective and no shooting.
Turn 2, my Tyrant charged a chariot and destroyed it (str7). My Yhetees did hardly anything that game as I kept them in standby. I used magic missiles and bangstick towards the dragon ogre shaggoth and brought it down to 2 wounds while another butcher slained his unit of 5 maureders with bonecruncher. His turn, his other chariot stayed out of line of site from my tyrant. My leadbelcher shot his unit dragon ogres wich 1 dragon ogre died. My 3rd butcher cast magic missile at his fast cav which failed their panic (turn 4 they fled off the table). Dragon ogres charge the leadbelchers wich they suffered 2 wounds but passed their Ld.
Turn 3, I charge his bestigor herd unit (full command) including, his mage, battle standard with my maneaters/butcher with a unit of 3 guts on the flank and everyone hold ground. Butcher cast troll bugts on leadbelchers. His turn, his general charged my unit of guts/butcher and declared a challenge which the butcher was slained. Dragon gores did 3 wounds but I regenerated.
Turn 4, I placed my Tyrant in front of his last chariot waiting for him to charge. Yhetees faced the dragon ogres on the right for a charge on turn 5 if leadbelchers stand their ground. Not much magic. Maneaters slained his magic user, battle standard and made other wounds on unit with ironguts on flank which my opponent lost CR and failed Ld. On his turn, chariot charge tyrant and chariot was destroyed (str7). His general killed 2 guts and got the remaining gut with banner on the run. Dragon ogres won combat and leadbelchers fled.
Turn 5, Bucher slained general with magic missiles and other butcher killed the last unit of dragon ogres with an amazing roll of 2d6 (11 hits) with a roll of 7 6's!
Another massacre for the ogres.

Game 4 Order of March   (Nurgle/Storm of Chaos)

I don't know what to say since i'm against these unblanced armies which is their last season in tournaments. Poison attacks in combat, ward saves of 4+ and 5+ and my enitre army is at -1 to hit in shooting and combat. So Maneaters, Guts, Bulls ar hitting on 5's. I also dislike players that mumble and talk fast and move fast. Besidees that, he was a good player and had some good rolls. No tactics, just straight forward charge. My maneaters with tyrant stood ground for 4 rounds of combat. I had many flank attacks but my roll to hit on 5+ wasn't enough. My biggest mistake after rallying my last yhetee on turn 5, I charged hit biggest unit, needing 1 kill to drop it at half and my yhetee died which I could have saved 100pts for a minor lost. So the ogres suffered a solid lost.

Game 5 Flank Attack   (Lizardmen/sotek)
Turn 1, I never played this scenario so I didn't kow what to expect. I started and entered my second half on the right flank. My die rollind didn't work much even for the magic. His advantage he entered his units on the same side. His unit of cold one's had an magical item, 2d6 movement that considered a charge if in contact with a unit. My bulls got destroyed which caused a panic test to my 3 guts with butcher and fled off the table as he overan into another butcher.
Turn 2, moving my lead belcher out of range in case of another overun. Leadbelchers killed his terradons and fled off the table. My butcher died in combat and I got shot at by his salamanders after rolling 24 shots and causing 13 wounds on my guts. On his turn, he charged my leadbelchers with a crazy wheel, won combat and pursuit in my Yhetee's. At turn 5, I had maneaters, 1 butcher and tyrant with 1 wound left which the wyrdstone had cause one at the begining of the game. Turn 6, I had only maneater and butcher left. Which the ogres got massacred.

All in all, it was a good tournament, I was selected for best paint again and came in 3rd. My friend played against this kid in 40k which his father was around watching. My friend gave the kid suggestions not to do certain moves because he will lose some of his units and which the kid didn't listen and lost those units. He explain alot about the rules and helped him out. In the end, the kid's dad told his son to score my friend:  0 points for sportmenship, 1 point presentation, 0 point selection and 0 points in honour !!  " I would of created such a big scene for the judges to kick his dad out "

In conclusion, learn and know your rules because people can cheat and make it look like they didn't know.

Congrats on you 3rd place !

It's sad though to see that there's cheaters in such competitions. You made the good move in reporting them.

I wish I could have been there but i was at Toronto assisting to the Leafs/Habs game

I think, ogrestronghold should have a battle report section for tournaments.
Who will be the next Khan in the Ogre Kingdoms?
I do agree that battle reports are very good when written well (like yours).  When I first started playin Druchii, I learned so much by reading the BatReps over at druchii.net.  It helped me immensly.  Just a little tid bit on how you used some units and how well they faired is enough to show someone new to the army what to expect.

I am shocked at the armies that showed up at the conflict.  Only one Dwarf but three Tomb Kings?  It's looks like you got a decent draw as far as the armies you played against (except for the people playing them...).  The last two are the only ones that are real problems for Ogres just when you compare list to list.  It's so poor that you have to consistently call a judge over just to make sure your opponent isn't cheating, I hate that small portion of the tourney scene here in North America.  People are looking to win so badly that they will do anything to win, even though they know the rules.  That combined with the fact that, if you do call them on it, they kill your score.  GW really needs to change it's scoring method in North America.

Grats on the third in painting!  I always love your work so I am not shocked that you did so well in that aspect.
This thread is worthless without pictures
Jestor, I shall post a link for the pictures taken when it will be available.  :D  Thank you for the comments.

I have read the rulebook a few times and went back threw it for some ?ing and every time I find new things that I didn't know or I have mistakened and just plain forgot. So it is a smart thing to do by going back and reading frequently. I probably have to read it again and again.

Ive seen your army in action in Ottawa when I went to look at the Tournament... Must say I liked the conversion you did at the time on your Leadbelcher and Butcher. Since ive miss Montreal wanted to know if you could put a picture of the army you use for it, and, give us some feedback on how Montreal Tournament was compare to Ottawa ?

Thank you for the good comments about my army and I should post here a link in about 1 week when GW will have it on their site.
I wish I could recall the people I see in tournaments.. please forgive my poor memory.

The difference between both tournaments. Montreal is a better organized.. more people but less than nov 2005. GW is trying to make lord of the rings tournaments but for a reason in Quebec, it's not working. Players are just not into that game.. I don't know about else where. I talked to many GW staff, ex staff and got some imput from players as well. What I was able to understand is that GW cut down on the costs. Renting cheaper halls, before players would get a t-shirt and food now we get nothing. $20 for 5 games, meaning that some leave empty handed and more are realizing that it's better off playing hall of heroes tournaments because it's cheaper, friendly croud, less power gamers, specially the one's that will do anything to win. I mean why was there 50 players in 2005 and this year 30?  Actually, I would like to know how it is in other countries.. is there less players and why ?

In Ottawa, the hall looked like a school gym with no AC on the first day. I believe that Ottawa has a GW bunker well decorated, why not use that place? I know Montreal was supose to have a bunker and many players are still waiting. Many rather the hall in "Palais des Congrès" instead of this years "Place Bonne Aventure". It looked like a basement. I really hope GW will improve because $100 is alot for a tournament. We wanted to go to Windsor in January but were having second thoughts.

Thanks !!! Good to know...

I went to two tournament in Calgary (03-04) before i move to Ottawa and I was pretty bug down by what ive seen here in the region... The tournament here in Ottawa (06) dint seem to hade a proper standard or something. Was wandering if it hade something to do with who was at the head of the organization at the time or if it was a region probleme. Calgary have put some hell good one in the past and hade receive alot of help from the community so I dont really see why on the East side of Canada things could have been down like that.

But hey.. Canada as 6 Conflict and 1 Golden Demon Game Day !!! You must have bad apple in all of them.. hehe.. As long as you hade fun playing it and learn few trick along the way its all good stuff.

Take care,
B.

Well to answer to that, there are a few reasons. From what I heard from the mouth of a realible source, Vancouver wasn't a success this year. Halifax was their first one so there wasn't many people, Ottawa the same thing. About Montreal, I thought it was a language thing since some french players have a had time to express themselves as other players can't communicate in french which is a small issue. I mean don't get me wrong, the conflict Montreal is a good event since there was alot of people. I also think that the location wasn't the best of places to start off with. GW has cut down in their budget. Before, every player use to get 1 t-shirt and a meal paid now we have nothing of that. As for the worst general, he get's stuff that were left on the shelves which do not sell. To me, it's a slap in the face for someone that paid $100. One of the good prizes was a ticket for the next years conflict. I know of some different store owners, including their clients, were not present as they were last year. Why? I don't know.

But don't get me wrong, Montreal Conflict is a good event with alot going on. I was maybe expecting more players.. It might just be a phase. ;)
