Unusual ogre character builds

original thread ↗

My main idea for this thread was to discuss some unusual/silly character builds you might have come up with or tried out in some less competitive games, and what I'm most interested in is:

What unusual character builds have you tried that you discovered work really well?

During the preparation for a friend's campaign I was striving to come up with a fun tyrant build, when I decided upon:

Tyrant
Heavy armour
Great weapon
Charmed shield
Talisman of preservation
Arabyan carpet

Now I full expected this to suck when i designed it, but he's proved to be extremely useful, and not just at hunting war machines.

Anybody else got a similar tale?
Not to disparage you, but that is a pretty standard flyrant build.
Actions speak louder than words, unless your eating a mime of course.
A build I've been wanting to try a mawseeker, gut maw, and gold sigil sword, with IF build, challenge everything u can!

my 2 favorite builds are

mawseeker
gutmaw
great weapon
6+talisman

and

giantbreaker
greedy fist
sword of striking
dragonhelm
heavy armor/ironfist
Hadn't seen it used before, but if you say so!

Tyrants do lend themselves very well to carpet builds because of the large number of attacks and wounds, plus the advantage of impact hits and stomps. (I'd wondered about some sort of flying Doombull build)

I really like this one, makes for a very good monstrous cavalry beater, 5 attacks hitting on 2s wounding on 2s minus 4 to armour saves, plus a good armour save to boot!

In a unit with the razor standard and some buffs (augments) cast on them this could be a real game changer against all these skullcrushers and demi-chicken armies.

I may have to "borrow" this build.

im glad people like my build, but as i posted it from memory, i left out 10 points worth of magic items, of course there are only enchanted items left, and only 3 that are 10 or under,

ironcurse icon
potion of foolhardiness
potion of speed

id probably go with potion of speed, to make sure i can attack before most/all of whoever im fighting
