Maneater Army

original thread ↗

Hello All,

After messing around with small bits of different warhammer fantasy and 40k armies for many years, I've finally decided to build 1 army and finish it. As you might have guessed it is an Ogre Kingdoms army!

One of the reasons I chose OK is the maneater, the background and conversion possibilities are just great =) This army will be a tribe of maneater ogres who've travelled all around the world and adapted to their new environments during these journeys. The plan is to convert the first rank of every unit into maneater style ogres.

I know this has been done before, and a great source of inspiration for me was a maneater army featured on the GW website:
http://www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?250907-Ogre-Maneaters

So far I've put together a 1000 point army, including some convertions =D However all of them are still unpainted and I'm pretty slow at painting, so it will take quite a while before I can post any pictures of finished models.. I'm also working on another 1000 points worth of maneating ogres!

The current army consists of:
Butcher
5 Ironguts
6 Ogres (ironfist)
4 Leadbelchers
Thundertusk

The expansion will be:
Bruiser
2 Ironguts
5 Ogres (ironfist)
4 Maneaters (brace of pistols, heavy armour)
4 Mournfang cavalry (ironfist, heavy armour)

The Ironguts and Ogres from the expansion will join the units in the current army.

This is an overview of the army so far!

Here is the unit of standard ogres, the conversions will come with the expansion of the army..

The thundertusk!

Here are a butcher and a unit of ironguts, with some conversions =)

Some leadbelchers, also converted.

All of the conversions are based on warhammer armies and pictures from the OK armybook, except for one of the leadbelchers who's based on Gragas from the game League of Legends =P

Please feel free to comment on anything from army composition to modeling, and in the future even the painting!

And here are some better pictures of the butcher. He's based on a picture from the OK armybook, where the blood from his magic gathers behind him as an angry maw thing. The idea is that the butcher has also travelled around and has gathered many exotic ingredients for his magic. He has some nice stuff like dwarfs beard, some recipe, a few bits of meat and a cooking pot storing some guts and blood for the great maw!

ooh, pictures! Loving the floating banner on the Butcher... ;)
I miss the Tenderiser...
I used to be called "Ghlezgar", if you want to know.

As requested by theviking, here is a picture of the back of the gragas leabelcher:

Since the cannon already had some straps on it, I figured it looks like the cannon is hanging from his belt =P
The beard on that leady is great, gnoblar incoming
