gust of wind

original thread ↗

Hey guys,

i'm brand new at playing warhammer and decided to play OK  :D.

In the rule book i read about a spell called "gust of wind" from the lore of heaven.
My question now is: when you cast gust of wind on an enemy regiment near the end of the table, is it possible to blow them off the game?

Thanks for help!

Cheers
Welcome to the Stronghold!

I believe it says in the rules for that spell (or maybe a FAQ?) to treat the end of the board as if it were dangerous terrain, so the unit takes the hits from the spell. However, I don't have my BRB on me, so if someone else corrects me, follow them :P

It's a silly spell, but can be helpful in case you fail a charge and don't want the countercharge to be as easy for the opponent; or, combine it with one of the spells that penalize movement (fulminating flame cage or curse of anraheir {?}) for some extra damage.

New book WLD: 21/10/3 - Haven't kept up on this! Solid win, followed by a good training-game tie!

The board edge is treated as impassable IIRC, so they just take the requisite number of hits and stop moving.

You can't blow them off the table. And that spell is really lame. believe me, people have tried to make it decent since 8th edition came out. Its a bad spell all around.

thanks a lot for your help!

thought this spell would be useful to blow off some targets, who are hiding on the end of the table  :D. but that would definitely be too awesome i suppose  ;)

cheers
