Mournfang Cavalry (and semi intro?)

Hey everyone! I'm new here to the forum and admittedly new to the hobby. I started playing 40k in April and just a couple weeks ago bought my first fantasy boxes. I originally wanted to play Fantasy to begin with but everyone at my local GW and my friends were all playing 40k so I picked up some tyranids and boy are they expensive! Since then a buddy of mine decided to buy some orcs+goblins and I said, "YES, FINALLY! I can go buy some Ogres!" So here I am. I know almost nothing about the fantasy in terms of playing but that's okay because painting is about 60-70% of the fun in the hobby for me. I've started building a 500pt list that will easily carry over to 1000+ and I'm so glad that I don't have 12-0934242304eleven302 models to purchase like I do for Nids.

So, without further stalling, here are some photos of my first Mournfang. Still a work in progress. Suggestions? Do you like it? Do you hate it? I haven't been painting models very long so I'm open to any advice!

I like that a lot! I was actually planning on painting one of my Mournfang with white fur! Do you happen to know what paints you used and the order you used them in?

For sure! I started with Abadon Black as a base then built up using Rakarth Flesh, Ushabti Bone, and finally Ceramite White over the top half of the model (shoulders, back, and ridge on the back of his neck). After that I washed it with Nuln Oil. All of the layers were just simply dry-brushed on. For the skin sections I used Rakarth Flesh, this includes the skin on his face. I wet-blended the Ushabti Bone onto his nose before painting the nose black. His feet are Rakarth Flesh and nails Ushabti Bone. I hope that helps!

I got a recommendation that has worked well for me for darker, stickier looking blood. It's Tamiya Color Clear Red, comes in a small pot at most hobby/train stores. Mix just a touch of black with it, and you're good to go.

edit: I forgot to mention, great looking beast! I like the icy look. Nice contrast with the browns and creams. Keep up the good work!
