Kings of War Ogres Releasing 29th of July

Mantic's Kings of War Ogres are set for release on the 29th of July:

"Ogres are in demand the world over as soldiers, and mercenary bands can be found across the whole of Mantica. Wealthy patrons can obtain the services of entire hordes of Ogres, banded together as an army under the leadership of a particularly charismatic (or just violent) Captain. Such a gathering of might is enough to strike fear into the hearts of their enemies, even before they begin to charge…

Following from June’s new releases of Werewolves, Mummies, Trolls and Orc Chariot, Kings of War gets a new Faction with the addition of the Ogres!

The staple units of the new Ogre Army are the Warriors and Shooters – two multi-part plastic kits that include two sets of weapon options. The Warriors can take hand weapons and shield or two handed weapons, whilst the Shooters get Heavy Crossbows and Blunderbusses."

Nice! Fit in well with GW models as well as being different enough to bring something unique to the table.

Just a shame that I've already got enough of each :-/

Nice models, but I prefer the fatties that GW makes. These don't look like nearly as much fun to paint. Plus, what's the point in using them in KoW? You don't remove casualties, you just add markers. What would make ogres special? 

Very nice though may get some of the units !!!

Having seen them all together like that they do look quite good.  I do like character model and still like the shield that they use with the nice curved spikes they would make nice Iron fist substitutes.

Those bases look pretty big though. Are they still on 40? Or can they fit on them if they aren't?

Yeah, they say these come with 40mm bases on the Mantic website, so their bases must just be a bit thinner than GW's bases.

I fully agree with you I would not be mixing these guys with my fatties. If anything I would just get these guys just to paint and play KoW.

Just got my Mantic Ogres from the Kickstarter in the post and must say they look really nice although they look considerably smaller when put next to the GW Ogres, ill try and put up a photo of them next to each other later today.

My mate has a few of these mini's now so I took a look at them.  Not to bad up close but I must say the feet are no joke tiny.  Literally the size of gnoblar feet and I'am being generous there! 

Any news if they are multi part as im after a few of the weapons.

Seen my mates and the weapons are attached to the arms of the model.  But the arms are separate from the model as well as heads etc.

I'm making my first Ogre army using a combination of these and GW figures so will post up some pics soon (Just in the assembly stage atm.

I don't think when put alongside each other they look too bad in terms of the size, height wise they're about the same and heads etc. would be pretty much interchangeable but the GW ones are much more bulky.

I'm using GW Ogre's for some of my character figures and the KoW Ogre's for my normal Ogre Bulls and Ironguts and I reckon they fit well enough.

Just to note the base doesn't help, if you base the GW Ogres on Mantic bases the size difference becomes much less of an issue.
