Salteater Gnoblog, new pictures 20 july

original thread ↗

A short introduction
Alright, let's start with my first Warhammer Blog. Although I've been playing Warhammer for 10 years now.
I still have a Bretonnian and an Orcs & Goblins army. In the last few years I also had a Wood Elf and a Beastmen army.

So why turn to Ogre kingdoms now? Don't like playing Bretonnia in the 8th edition especially because of the steadfast. And for O&G, well they're my fun army with all the random stuff. Didn't give them a Circus theme for nothing :). And I really like the Ogre models, especially the Maneaters, Leadbelchers, Thundertusk and the pets: sabretusks. No not our other pets, the gnoblars. I've been painting so many goblins that I don't want to start painting their relatives yet ;-)

To the Ogres: the theme
The theme of my Ogre Kingdoms, not the most original, but still fun: Pirates. Because I had some nice ideas and we have the best model for it of course.

Painting
At the end of july I'm playing in a friend(ly) tournament. I try to go there fully painted (well, my army). For that I had to speedpaint as nothing was painted (bought the army 2nd hand mostly undercoated). I'll post a few picturse now, taken with my phone. Need to retake them in a 'lone setting' with a black or white background. But I just wanted to show you already :).

"We're not playing anymore because where getting older, we're getting older because we don't play anymore." And that's why I still play (from Warhammer, to RPG's and board games)
Welcome aboard matey!  Always nice to see another pirate army out there, I'm working on mine as well. (the Maelstrom Masher blog farther down the page)  I'd love to see more pictures close up and see what other conversions you have done.  I've found once you get thinking there are so many to choose from to fit the theme.

Post some closeups when you can!  Looking good so far
I made some larger pictures of the close to being finished Salteaters  ;>)

Yarr! Looking fantastic, love the bases.
I miss the Tenderiser...
I used to be called "Ghlezgar", if you want to know.
