New FAQ

There have been new FAQs for some time now. They finally closed the Greedy Fist debate by removing the FAQ and just keeping the Errata.

There is now a precision that Greasus does not benefit from his Scepter of Tyrants on Stomps. Besides that, nothing new.

BRB FAQ'd so that the roll of a natural 1 for to-wound is a failure.  About a year ago they wrote an FAQ to tell us quite specifically that the roll of a 1 wasn't an auto failure.  Why bother with this change?  Was the call center swamped with complaints or something?

A bunch of RAW-but-kind-of-unintuitive rulings got overturned in this FAQ. Perhaps a change of philosophy with the FAQs (again)? Greedy fist, overrunning with warmachines, impact hits and lookoutsir, etc.

Very true.
I dont mind the RAI rulings but I am very surprised with the 'sudden' changes as GW previously as set a RAW guideline for interpretations.
(or we could start speculating whether it is testing of interpretations guidelines for the coming 9th edition as they have now tried both ways for 'no apparent reason')

I was wondering about that. The change to the killing blow ruling in particular might be foreshadowing of 9th ed mechanics. Maybe character-ridden chariots/monsters will become a true unit type, perhaps even a split profile unit?

I'd just assumed with the reversed rulings that they'd published them, then gotten reports back of abuse / imbalance, so they turned them around to try and fix it?

I'm quite happy with Greedy Fist being fixed now, got sick of people telling me that the Ogre FAQ should be ignored due to its inconsistencies.

More of a case that they started doing it in house instead of farming it out to the Direwolf guys.
