Can a character join a character?

original thread ↗

Hi All,

I'm about to play a special scenario and I need to know if I can create a unit of characters. I'm having a hard time finding a ruling on it. Its going to be very important for assaulting buildings which is the core of this mission.

So can anyone tell me? Is a character a unit? Can a character then join another lone character (i.e. two firebellies and a tyrant as a unit that assaults a building)?

Thanks All,

Morfiend.

p.s. if anyone has a suggestion on the ultimate building assault party in a 1500 point list I'd love to hear it. The best I've got so far is a unit of Maneaters with Flame Banner led by a Tyrant. I'll be fighting lizardmen.
As far as I know, I believe the answer is "yes", because characters count as a "unit" in of themselves; however, when they join a unit, they become part of that unit. Either way, read the "Character" section of the BRB, I think it describes it all there.
24 Gnobs! Wow, 2 sets, crazy!
Toothy, Workie, Sir Reginald, and Busty (for the bus explanation)!

New book WLD: 17/8/2 ... A good quick game to get me re-invigorated, glad it was a win either way lol

Yes, characters are allowed to join units.

Units are defined as a group of 1 or more models.

Some specific unit types are forbidden from being joined by characters/joining other units. There is no restriction like in 40k where a unit that is only ever a single model can't be joined.

Thank you guys. I found the relevant ruling to back up what you guys are saying. Its right there on page 5 :-)
Your ultimate building assault party should of course have flaming attacks for the rerolls to wound. I would say 3 firebellies to use their breath weapons in a unit of xhw maneaters with flaming banner. =)
