Fire and regen

original thread ↗

If a fireball is cast on a unit with regen hits inflicts wound regen is removed.
Then comes the shooting phase does the unit have regen back or is it still removed until next turn?
Those who live by the sword, get shot by those who don't.

It is removed until it is re-applied either via magic. However if you are talking about something like trolls it is removed for the remainder of your turn. Resuming on the player turn that owns the unit.
So your magic phase with fireball would remove regen for - Shooting, combat. Then it would re-instate its self on the movement phase of the owning player.

mcsheehy is not quite right here. Wounds inflicted by flaming hits will only remove the regen. for the current phase (magic OR shooting OR close combat).
P. 74, last section.

But the lore of fire also has spells giving your troops flaming attacks so dont despair : )

Dam...what mcsheeny says is how I/my group have been playing it.

But when I reread the rules I read it how joakim describes it.....well at least I am not the only one doing it wrong then lol.....back to just blasting stuff with the iron blaster

Thank you and damn you Joakim! :O :P lol

No seriously thank you, there is a whole lot of people playing this incorrectly.

Makes me wonder, anyone ever cast flaming sword on an iron blaster? I think it would auto wound and negate regen?
No problem friends - next time you can correct me : )

And yes, the ironblaster could auto-wound with flaming attacks... pretty spiffy!

7th ed fire removed regen for the turn. 8th its for the phase.

Initiative matters for flaming attacks in combat.. a firebelly can remove regen in combat before ironguts attack, but not before bulls attack as they are striking simultaneous.

A Firebelly does have a flaming impact hit...

The I2 breath attack can be used too. Sometimes those S4 attacks just wont hit/wound anything not even mentioning the following armor saves.
