Devlan Mud

Didn't exactly know where to put this, but have anyone else noticed how absolutely vile Devlan Mud smells?!

I was using it the other day, and honestly thought it was my feet.

Sorry for the strange post, but my god, that stuff is nasty. Anyone have any idea why? 

All of the washes smelled odd. My random-stab-in-the-dark-total-guess-I-really-don't-know would be that the washes have some kind of varnish-like material to keep them flowing nicely across the model and not separating.

Do GW still make devlan mud? Is there a new equivalent in the new paints?

Agrax earthshade, it's not 1:1 but closest of the new GW paints.
Army painter Strong Tone is the closest you can get, as far as I know.

I've heard good things about Prism Gaming leather wash. I ordered some and if it is any good I'll post something about it.

We had a discussion like this over on the Daemonic Legion awhile back. Devlan Mud is definitely stinky.

I miss Devlan Mud. It was one of may favorite citadel products. I put it on everything! Flesh, metal, cloth. I even put it in my coffee. But not really.

Frankly, I wonder if Gryphonne Sepia doesn't smell even more digusting than Devlan Mud did, because that really smells peckola.

My Gryphonne Sepia doesn't smell bad at all. A little odd, but nothing compared to Devlan.

It is a shame that it's gone, but Agrax is pretty close. Everyone who used it around my parts always had a saying for Devlan.

"Paint your base colors, then apply your 'liquid talent' (Devlan), then some highlights, and presto! You're a master painter.
