This is my first attempt at writing up battle reports, so it might not be the best ever...but here goes.
My list:
Tyrant - HA, IF, Sword Antiheroes, Tali Pres, Giantbreaker
Bruiser - BSB, HA, Enchanted Shield, Sword Striking, Tali Endurance
Butcher - lvl 2 maw, scroll, tormentor sword
Butcher - lvl 2 beast, warrior bane
7 Iron Guts command, dragon hide banner
3 guts muso
3 guts muso
10 gnobs
3 belchers muso
3 belchers muso
3 maneaters scout stubborn, champ, standard, flame banner
3 maneaters vanguard swiftstride
2 single sabres
2 fangs muso
2 fangs muso, standard, gleaming pennant
My basic strategy was to put the fangs on opposing flanks, then just place everything else as I saw what my opponent was dropping. I always tried to be aware of the 6" rule for obvious reasons and also would keep the 2 sabres close to my tyrants unit for the late game redirecting.
Game 1 Nurgle Demons:
She basically had papa nurgle, a single herald in a unit of 25-30 plaugebearers, a second big unit of plaugebearers, 2 units of furies, a 4 pack of beasts, a soulgrinder and 2 5 packs of nurglings. Might be more, but I was already drinking by this time so things might be a bit fuzzy haha.
She had the Pbs on center with big papa behind them, the grinder on the right flank and the beasts on the left. The nurglings she scouted 12 inches from my line on either side. I believe this was her 3rd or 4th career game of warhammer so I don't think she knew what everything on my side of the board did.
I had my fangs out wide, with guts and the maneaters to support, belchers next to my big unit and the dogs trailing. I didn't want to vanguard the eaters so I could charge with them if I won first turn. I did. Fangs and eaters charge one unit of nurglings, fangs and guts charge the other. The big unit moves up close enough for me to charge next turn, but not for her to charge this turn. In the combat phase, I secured both flanks by popping the nurglings.
She charges one of my fangs with the beasts and i just accept it thinking they can just sit there the rest of the game, neither side doing much. She moves some furies in front of her soulgrinder trying to shield it from my maneaters and fangs on the other flank. She also move the two plaguebearer units up.
My turn two is where the game was basically won. I charge the plaguebearer unit with the herald with my tyrants unit. I also move a sabre 1" in front of the other unit and the gnobs 1" behind that to hold the second unit in place so I can get them my next turn. I also use a second sabre and an small gut unit to get in big papas way so he cant ruin my day. My tyrant and guts go crazy with the banner active and really put a hurting on her unit. We learned later that she forgot she had regen on that unit...not sure it would have made a huge difference, but still. She has a few left after the combat, but they will be dead on her turn allowing me to reform to face the other unit of Pbs and kill them over the next 2 combats. Then it was just mop up time. Magic and shooting never really played a part in this game, although I'm pretty sure my tyrant had savage beast of horrors on him at least once...
Jen was a lot of fun to play against, and a very good sport. I hope she continues with the hobby. I'll write up the others when I get a chance.
