2000pts friendly doubles

original thread ↗

Hey guys. Posted a few days ago regarding help with a list doubling up with brets. Looks like I will be doubling with O&G now. (we are ignoring alliance rules)
It will be 2000pts each. Hidden lists so no one will know what their allies or opponents have until we get to the table. even then I will only see my allies. While we setup/deploy someone will check our points costs etc. (I wont say much, but one of the players is known to "forget" to add the points for something ;)) lol

I have not came up with a list yet. I know the O&G player will take 3 level 4's probably as is his custom. So I was thinking about running without much magic to give him a strong magic phase.
Idea was to use a tyrant/dual belly list. The bellies don't need much dice to throw a few fireballs that will only be used to remove regen, or kill redirectors. The breath weapon is where they are at.
However I have toyed with taking 1 Tyrant and 3 bruisers! (probably a silly idea)
I typically run 3-4 MFC at 2000pts with a swiftness banner however I have toyed with sticking that standard in the Ironguts with Bruisers/Firebellys and tyrant for a little surprise. Over the MFC I was thinking Scout/Swift ME's with AHW.
Plan will be me starting facing the Skaven while the orcs face off the brets. Skaven are slightly "squishier" than Brets and the extra attacks will help :)

Any ideas or tips would be more than welcome! I play brets all the time... but only played skaven twice and once he brought a REALLY poor list lol. I lost my IB and he lost his entire army lmao.

I would personally favor going against the Brets. Ironguts ruin their day, especially if you get the charge.i would be tempted to drop three cats and three units of ten gnoblars. That will slow up the knights, allowing you to smash into his ranks. The mournfang will also do well against the higher armored knights.

Skaven are squishier, but have a good chance of being steadfast. The O&G have a better chance to remove this. If I was looking at taking out skaven I would go for regular ogres over Ironguts. The point savings will give me more models. Something I could use. Also, this might be a fun time to take a horde of gnoblars.

One of the nice things about our new list is that so many things work. Let us know what you take and how it turns out.
