Nurgle List advise?

original thread ↗

I am comming back to 40k after missing almost all of 5th and selling all my 40k models.

I came back with a ( rebased from fantasy) khorne deamon army and that all kinda worked but now im slowly buildins a more 40k esk force.

my list plan is along the following lines;

Kurgath
3 + bases of nurglings

Herald of nurgle
15 plaugebearers

Herald of nurgle
15 plaugebearers

Deamon Prince
Deamon Prince

10 Converted Rot Hounds ( flesh hounds)

then allied CSM

CSM Scorcerer Lord

5 x Nurgle Marines with some heavy weapons
5 x Nurgle Marines with some heavy weapons

and a quadgun defence line

How does that sound, competative?
Units of 5 marines die quick, you loose two and you have nothing left - go for either nurgles lucky number seven or ten to dish out some pain/hold objectives - i dont think aegis defence line is worth it as you dont really have anything to put behind it. Your better off getting in bolter range with your nurgle marines, and most stuff allows you an armour save and there is usually cover to hunker down in.
Maybe buy a rhino and put the 9x nurgle marines and sorcerer in there to move in support of your plaugebearers? Giving them close range fire support and if you give them extra ccw charge support aswell

Just my thoughts,
TLK
The defence line has already seen a game and was invalubale for taking down flyers, yes the flying DP can do it but not as easily.

The squishyness of that 5 man squads has been noted though, I might bulk them up bit then.

how about 1 squad tooled for combat one with some heavys in or a mix ( dont think I will have points for devestators)

also has anyone tried the nurgle fly riding fellows or the forgeworld blight drone?
In my experience Plaguebearers ain't that hot at typical line duties (i.e. actually killing the foe) due to their lack of speed. The troops of most other armies quite happily shuffle back and slowly plug away at them - T4 with a 5++ even with FnP isn't particularly solid. Beasts are apparently really, really good at this job though and I can't imagine the Plague Drones are bad either.
I don't suffer from mental instability. In fact, I enjoy it immensely.

Gutlord Inquisitor: FORUM FIGHT! Me, I'm betting on the stronghold. Sure, they're outnumbered with thick skulls, stubborn bull-headedness and an inflated sense of self-worth, but hey, they're Ogres.
