Hey guys this is my first list, i've had a look at some others posted here and have come up with the above. My thinking is to put the Slaughtermaster with the Leadbelchers, i'm thinking he can use gruts sickle on them for a couple turns and when most units are in combat they aren't going to be firing as much so the loss of one ogre after 3 turns of the sickle is acceptable, meanwhile he is going to be getting +6 to casting attempts - i dont think the off chance of rolling snake eyes is really that big a deal and spending aprox 14 points worth of wounds for him to get the +2 is great. Also he will be regenerating and im not wanting him in combat so hes not heavily armoured and no fencing blades.
BSB with ld9 banner in big unit of Ironguts and big bulls unit as a core, with some sabretusks to flank, redirect or hunt wizards/crews
Mournfang to flatten anything and Ironblaster to hit monsters etc.
Thoughts appreciated!

Bruiser BSB Enchanted Shield - Heavy Armour - Dispel Scroll - Sword of Might - (leads Ironfists) 184 Lexy - Removed point costs for indivdual items
List doesn't look too bad. I would make all the sabretusks as singles for a start but the main thing you need to change is that your bruiser cannot use dispel scrolls. Only wizards can use any arcane items so if you want a dispel scroll you will need a butcher or a firebelly at least and I would recommend a least having 1 wizard.
Hope this helps.

Very standard list. It will work well.
By the way, don't post individual item costs, just totals by unit/character. Otherwise you are infringing on GW's IP.
One thing that puzzles me is putting your general with the leadbelchers. There is not a lot of protection for him here. What are your plans for the different units?

Hey Zolas you must have missed the Slaughtermaster entry above the bruiser BSB.
Hay Bigmacdaddy, i've mentioned it in the blurb below the list - so he can use the sickle on the leadbelchers as opposed to the ironguts (who are obviously better protection) im not really keen on having a lvl 4, 350pt wizard on the front lines even if he's an ogre, im thinking by the time he's used the sicle a bit the leadbelchers wont be shooting as much, therefore not as much a key squad as the ironguts/supporting ogres. Because leadbelchers can move and shoot, im thinking of keeping them reasonably close to the other units so the short range buffs are still an option if the slaughtermaster is using maw
not too sure what the strat is for the ironguts/ogres just use the sabretusks to redirect/hold up a unit leaving them ready for a charge

Dude, remove the individual costs for everything, it's against the forum rules.
Second - you can build the Slaughtermaster differently (if you don't mind dropping the Sickle) to turn him into a WS10, 5 attack combat monster that gives enemies -1 to hit him while still being a lvl 4 wizard, and he's more useful to you in a Gut unit than in the belchers. The Maw lore (which, with your current build, you have to use) buffs our units in combat and is generally a really good lore, but you have to place the wizard right because the ranges aren't great. Additionally, if you put him into a leadbelchers unit, he's not very well protected at all. Mobile armies like Brets will outmaneuver you and charge him, and armies with lots of shooting like Dwarves, some Empire lists, and the various Elves, are going to be concentrating a lot of firepower on that unit. Why? Because he's your General. And a lvl 4 wizard who is turning himself into a lvl 6 wizard by cutting leadbelchers with a sickle. You're always better off putting him in a bigger, stabbier unit that will make people think "oh f*ck, i really don't want to be fighting that".
Third - your Bruiser can't carry a dispel scroll (it's an arcane item, meaning wizards only), move that onto the Slaughtermaster.
Last thing - split the Sabretusks into 3 units of 1, rather than a unit of 2 and a unit of 1. If they're on their own, they can wheel freely, making it easier to redirect enemy units, and this way you can screw with 3 things rather than 2.

Lol I did miss the slaughtermaster or was too focused on the BSB having a dispel scroll. Either way don't forget to remove the dispel scroll from the BSB and as others had said just leave point totals for each entry.

If you are looking for simple grut's sickle use, a small unit of regular ogres is much more economical. I agree that you are better of with your general in a scarier unit. He may not die in combat, but getting mowed down in pursuit from failed leadership due to combat res is just as dead.
You need to remove those point costs. Otherwise you risk getting this forum into trouble! So edit your post and remove them before the post is taken down.
Ok on a second helpful note I run my SM with gruts sickle and its awesome! However... thinking he will be safe in your Leadie unit is just silly they are more vulnerable than your gut unit. If you are concerned about having him in combat stick him safely in the 2nd rank! But remember he is T5 W5 Regenerating them every cast! He doesn't NEED any armour lol. Your sabres should be run in 3 units of 1. that way if one dies the other wont run for the hills. Everything else looks good If you need to drop an Irongut to fit them in 3x3 formation then do it! and stick a GW on your SM

Heres the amended list without individual points costs, i've been tossing up between grut's sickle and the popular fencers/glittering scales build, decided that the slaughtermaster in the ironguts sounds pretty good, but is he able to case if hes in combat?, i thought he wasn't.

For the SM in an irongut unit you dont need him to kill anything. The iron guts will do this very well! The glittering scale+fencers blade is only for protection right? If so a 4+ ward safe is cheaper and much better choice against tough enemies.
My meta analysis to the SM The purpose of the irongut unit it self is heavy combat most likely as it is the only thing in the ogre army with a real heavy damage output (lots of S6 attack) when you are not running a tyrant (who doesnt deal the same damage as IG either). So if the unit hits combat it will face opponent that will most likely kill the SM if he is in the front row (where his 5A (with fencers) S4 wont matter against high armor safe stuff). Keep the SM in 2nd row with a gw (this option is added in the FAQ for about third the price of fencers blades), keep the crown of command + dispel scroll and spend the other points of more iron guts - they die fast before striking back : ) The purpose of the SM is to be a caster and general, so he should really stay alive which means to stay out of combat. Dont worry about the placement in 2nd row as most of the spells you will cast is augments anyway.
