Tips on dule Firebelly set ups w/ tyrant/SM

original thread ↗

Playing my first game in months.

Wanting to try out dule Firebelly and eith a tyrant or SM.

Not sure on a good way to run them.  Normally play matches at 2250 points.

Is two lv2 the way to go I know it's get tricky when rolling spells, can they both take fireall?
What about giving one the ruby ring, would it stack with the flame lore rule?

I want to give one the HH because my area is very magic heavy.

The other one I was thinking the ring and a Ds if ( if the ring stacks)

Any one have any tips on running them?
Never ran them myself, but you really only want to do that with a tyrant. Take three casters and you won't have enough dice to go around.

The ruby ring does work with kindle flame, so that and a scroll on a level 2 so you don't necessarily need to swap for the sig if you don't want, then the hellheart on a level 1 so you can throw him out for a breath weapon/hellheart suicide run.
I've had great success with dual firebellies and a tyrant. Our local vampire player won't even bring certain lsts against me if I run them, and he's a fine tactician. I'm not so great at using my own chaff and re-directors, so I tend to prefer obliterating theirs and the 'Bellies excel at that.

It's an odd thing to say, but one piece of advise I have is to consider your tyrant a sacrificial unit, if kitted out properly. I've had such success throwing him under the bus to delay or set up something that I cannot stress it enough.

That said, I've been hoping someone would have started this topic for a while, as I'd love to pick up more pointers for my favourite build from the more experienced players who swear by this. Not to mention adding it to the tactica!
I tried them today and 1 won and loss 1.

Don't think I use this set up to its true potential, it was more of tiral and error,
with a Tyrant or SM ? Details... :)
I run a Tyrant + 2 Firebellies list very frequently.

I make both Firebellies lvl 2, give one the ruby ring and the other one a Dispel scroll.
My Tyrant runs around with Greedyfist, Fencer's blades and Glittering scales.  That makes him A6 S6 WS10 and it gives him protection in a different way than your opponents expect.

Most things will hit the tyrant on 6's.  Most combat characters will hit him on 5's.  If he does get hit you still have a small ward save (6+) from the Greedyfist as a fall back.

I try to give both Firebellies fireball (giving me 3 total with the ring), but my first priority is flaming sword of rhuin, and maybe flame cage, depending on the type of army I'm facing (hordes don't like flame cage very much).

There is only news.  There is no good or bad.
I am guessing you also run a BSB in the list. If so how do you gear him, to me it is starting to be a big point sink on 4 chars
Those who live by the sword, get shot by those who don't.

I do run a BSB yes.  I give him heavy armour and enchanted shield.  I run him in my IG unit (3 wide) and he stays in the second rank.

If there comes a challenge from a scary character then my Tyrant steps up (also in the IG unit).

The Firebellies are each in their own unit con each side of the IG unit.

The 4 chars does cost a lot of points, that is why my BSB only rocks HA and enchanted shield and why my Firebellies only have a 25 point item each.

This is my game-plan for 2250+ games.  With 2000 games I'll leave the Firebellies lvl 1 or drop the ruby ring.
There is only news.  There is no good or bad.
Redstart;

I use a tyrant with minmial gear set up, I like the idear of greedy fist and fence blades set up. I went with cheap magic weapon, and ward and armour.  Not the best use of gear on my part.

I run a SM with 2 level 1 Firebellies, admittedly for chaff clearing and flaming attacks in my Guthorde. Gear is relatively minimal, but it seems to work rather well for me.
