Storm of Magic Question

original thread ↗

Hi guys

Just a quick one. Does anybody know if Cataclysm spells from Storm of Magic are affected by their lore attribute? I'd imagine they would but seeing as they have their own special rules (i.e. Cant IF them, dispell scrolls don't work etc). I was asked the question yesterday and I couldn't answer in all honesty. It would be nice to think you could RRoR a unit then hit them with the 6D6 Fireball spell and get the +D3 from Kindleflame but I'd like to be sure before I go into my next game looking to get myself a Nurgle Daemon Prince and the +1W & T
I don't have the SoM book to hand, but I am fairly sure it mentions that they are a part of that Lore, and are affected by any rules and attributes of that Lore. However, I have no reference to hand, as I am at work :)

That said, even without reference, I would play it that way, as logically they are just an expansion to the existing Lore, and would therefore be affected by the Attribute :)

After all, painting 100 night goblins is something you do in the morning just before you are off to work.

And I think you missed a 0 when you wrote 11 armies. The correct nr should be 110 armies I would think, based on your painting speed.
I'm in the same situation as you JJ. At work, no reference at hand but I 'm also inclined to agree that they would be affected by the Lore Attribute. Thanks for the input.
I played a SOM game about a month ago. We never actually looked up the rules, but just played it that way. (at work as well, darn jobs!! Hehe)

Fun little trick, although not very cost effective is a Tyrant on a carpet with a greedy fist and Dawnstar Sword. If you have presence, you strip 10 wizard levels automatically... 500 pts, but absolutely hysterical when you see your opponents face. :p
They call me MR. Cthulhu! AAAAAHHHHHHH!
That could be pretty nasty! I mean, most armies would have next to no wizard levels left...
