Got a game tomorrow against my mate's Empire or Skaven. It is a surprise!
I want to try Heavens on my slaughtermaster for the first time, as well as sniping Maneaters.
Here is what I was thinking:
Slaughtermaster. Lvl 4 with Gruts Sickle & Dragonbane Gem. (Heavens)
BSB. Hvy Armour, Crown of Command, Ironfist, Luckstone, Dragonhelm.
Butcher. Lvl 1 with Dispecl Scroll. (Maw)
8 Ogres. Standard & Bellower. Ironfists
7 Ironguts. Full Command. Std of Discipline.
10 Gnoblars.
8 Leadbelchers. Bellower.
3 x1 Sabretusk.
6 Maneaters. Heavy Armour. Musician & Standard. Brace of Pistols (6) & Banner of Eternal Flame. Sniper & Poison.
Ironblaster
Ironblaster.
What do you think? Not used Heavens before. Am not sure on the core, I wasnt sure if one big unit of Ironguts was too much?
Thanks

I've run the heavens list a couple of times, one thing I found was that the SM actually can work in the leadbelcher unit instead of the ironguts. Depending on what spells you get it might even be ideal because once you get into close combat there are a cew spells that you won't be able to cast.
The list looks solid, nothing glaring that I can see. I like Grut's on the SM since it really helps with those casting costs.
Another thing to keep in mind is that you want to delay the enemy to get the most out of your shooting. Consider the maneaters with scout and poison if the sniper and poison doesn't work out.

The list looks solid to me.
My consideration conflict a little with the above comments. But it all depends on your gaming type.
I would keep the poison/snipers - the list is not build for combat so taking out essential characters is key. Yet empire can wrap most characters in a 1+ AS, making the snipers useless, almost. Chain-lightning on the other hand can with a little luck nail a wizard hiding naked behind the empire front battle line ; )
The 8-pack of LB is rockin and has lovely synergies with lore of heavens.
I would skip the grut sickle (or what its name) and go for a magic item that can kill mages or interfere with the opponent magic phase. Hell heart or feedback scroll could work. They can be risky but both Skaven and Empire can lock up the ogre army in combat/gun line so you need some more spice to be deadly at range. The hell heart fits on your lvl1 that can be sacrificed : )
last, I'd lose an ogre/gut for a bigger unit of gnoblars, or just more units. A deep unit of gnoblars will be steadfast against knights for a turn or two saving you much needed time to deal with the other stuff coming in your face.
edit: Remember to use the maw lore signature spell - getting a unit stubborn can be a great advantage given the relative low combat punch the heaven list includes. the LB (or beaten up gnoblars) will lose combat big times to anything armoured but being stubborn will keep them around for flank charging with juicy man eaters and maybe a iron blaster. It worked for me in an earlier game.
Good luck and enjoy!
... and please let us know how it worked out : )

Thanks for the advice! I am really looking forward to trying this style of list.
@Entreri Bloodletter
I had never thought of running the Slaughtermaster with the Leadbelchers. My only worry would be leadership, especially when the units are all fairly small.
@Joakim
I'm going to give the snipers a try, been meaning to for a long time! Having painted the final 2 leadbelchers this month, I CAN NOT WAIT to use them in one go! Unless I roll Trollguts I will probably choose the signature. With that and the BSB, I should be able to keep the units hanging around if all goes badly!
I shall report back after the game tomorrow.
Thanks!

Sounds great.
The list is not a typical Ogre list. It does not perform well against fast in-your-face armies but if you can keep the enemy off for a while you can soak him up. Hopefully you will not be facing a full knight empire list - those are rough for ogres, especially your list. But dont worry it does take time to figure out.
Troll guts would be the only alternative to the stubborn sig. spell. But my dice-luck usually makes sure I go for the sig ; )
For the heavens spells I usually prioritize no. 1,3,6 and the signature.
