Greets all! Below is a link to my previous post where I asked for advice on a list I made for a tourney. Further below I thought I'd give you a run down of how well I did!

So I did change up my list a little and I'm pretty happy with the results! I added a banner to both my troop units (Standard of Dicipline for the Ironguts), and a second Sabretusk. To make up the points I made one Mournfang unit from 2 to 3 and dropped the second Mournfang unit.
Round 1 vs. Vampire Counts
He took a level 4 Necromancer for a General with a dispel scroll for sure, not sure what else. He also had a BSB. For units he had two Vargulf, 2x10 skeleton units (no cmd), 3 Terrorgiests, 3 bases of ghosts (forget the unit's name) and a massive unit of around 40-50 Gouls (where he put his characters).
I forget all the spells there but I know I got Maw, Guts, and Cracker. He had Raise dead, Curse, and Van hels (forgot 4th).
I got the first turn, the game was basic battleline but additional points were awarded if you took terrain by the end and for characters killed. He conceded on my turn 3 with only his Ghoul unit (w/ characters in it) left and I not suffering any unit losses (I think I lost a few bulls and a single IG). He wanted to give me full points but I was a sport (since he is a good friend) and only took points awarded to me if the game had been ended at that time. This earned me somewhere at the top of the middle of 12 players.
Round 2 vs. Skaven
He had a Grey Seer and a BSB for characters. Unit wise he took a Doom wheel, Warp lightning cannon, 40 clanrats, 20 slaves, 20 Stormvermin (where he put his characters), 20 Giant rats, and 25-30 Plague rats w/ a Plague furnace.
For magic he took the Horned one spell (useless against me!), warp lightning, super frenzy and something else. I had Maw, Cracker, Guts, and Marrow.
I thought this game would destroy me but shows how strategic maneuvering and the power of Ogre infantry rules. He got first turn (it was dawn attack and he stole on the roll of a 6). His warp lightning cannon obliterated my Ironblaster which scared off my sabretusks and Mournfang. With nothing left but my infantry I got a front and side off on his furnace the following turn and just rolled down his line. By turn five the only thing he had left was his warp lightning cannon. This earned me a massacre and second place among the competitors.
Round 3 vs. Ogre Kingdoms
I was sort of dreading this fight as I dont fancy taking on same armies as me. Our forces were similar but different enough it made a difference. He had a SM for characters, 9 IG, 9 Bulls w/ IF, 3 Maneaters with duel pistols, poison and scout (he couldnt deploy as scout because of my deployment), 5 cannon guys (their name escapes me), 2 Mournfang and two units of a single sabretusk.
Magic I had Guts, Gobbler, Cracker, and Marrow. He had Gobbler, Cracker, Maw, and Guts.
He slaughtered me! This was mainly due to my turn two I lost my SM from being sucked into the warp and an extremely bad retreat roll on my bulls, and my Ironblaster being destroyed by his maneaters. I stuck it out and fought on with my Ironguts, BSB (in the same unit), and my Mournfang. I tried to break his Bulls and SM w/ my Mournfang but he didnt break and ground them down. But my IG and BSB made a terrific showing by taking out his IG, his Mournfang, and a third of his bull unit. Though I lost I was extremely satisfied with the turnout despite the horrific dice and losses so very early.
Overall I took third in the tournament as I also got best painted army! I was very satisfied with the overall turnout of my force and I look forward to expanding it some more.
