Mrs.Fett's Blood Guzzlers

original thread ↗

Hi!

My name is Stephanie. I recently just got back into the game. I have owned my Ogre army for 2+ years now. I recently finished painting it and with this my interest in playing has started back up again. I play at my local store one the weekends. This is my first army I have ever owned. I do also have a Goblins spider army and a Trollblood army for Warmahordes. I have no idea what I am doing when it comes to making lists so this is why I finally signed up on The Ogre Stronghold. Hoping you experienced Ogre players can send some tips and advice this way!

Here is a list of what I own:

17 Ironguts
13 Ogres (3 battler standard barriers)
8 Leadbelchers
1 Tyrant
1 Bruiser (also my BSB)
1 Slaughtermaster
1 Giant
1 Ironblaster
1 Thundertusk
2 Gorgers
6 Morfang Cavalry
1 Greasus Goldtooth

and a bunch of Gnoblars which I've never used lol...

Let me know what you think!

Stephanie :)
Hi Stephanie!  :)

That's a sizable collection of Ogres you've got there! Most competitive lists are based around the models you already have, with a Slaughtermaster as your general, a core of Ironguts, Mournfang as special and a pair of Ironblasters as rare :) Plenty of examples can be found in the forums Armies of the Kingdoms section :)
Would love to see pics of your Goblin army :)

After all, painting 100 night goblins is something you do in the morning just before you are off to work.

And I think you missed a 0 when you wrote 11 armies. The correct nr should be 110 armies I would think, based on your painting speed.
Hey Stephanie good to have you at the stronghold.  To be honest I would just play what you have and what you like.  You certainly have enough core models.  The army you play with will depend alot on the gamers you play will.  If they are super hardcore tournament types, then list building will be super important but will casual gamers any army will usually result in a fun game.  Personally, I am very big into the hobby side of things.  I have completed 4-5 armies for 40k this year and not once took into account what a sensible list would be.  No, I base my entire modeling and painting on what I thought would look cool.  I plan on doing another Ogre army in the very near future and I have thought about that loosely.  My plan is to put as many Ironguts on the table at 2500 pts, which is something like 48.  Good luck and more importantly have fun with the hobby because it really is awesome.
Thanks guys!

Lots of good suggestions. I did just buy second iron blaster and officially finished painting my entire army (excluding my new iron blaster, still in the mail) I'm very excited to get it in and try playing with two in my list. I usually play with just regular players, no hard core tournament players, there not my type lol. I more play for fun and the modelling as well.

The biggest amount of ironguts I have played with was my 'gut star' unit tehe..lots of fun! Its a unit of 24 including command. Lots of fun!

Ill be posting pictures soon of my finish products!
