Anyone here ever use greasus? I kinda want to someday.

original thread ↗

Does anyone have any experience with him? I know the movement 4 keeps him out of just about everyone's lists but I still think he has his tactical uses. I know there are a couple threads about all out special characters but I'm really only looking for info on the big guy.
You won't find any because he has no tactical uses.

Use him because you like the model, not because he has any sort of useful thing to bring to the table.

I almost sometimes justify him, but the Points cost is just one last hurdle too many for me.

Why couldn't he have just stayed a Monster at least like in the old book... he still sucked, but the idea of thunderstomping with sheer obesity would've been fun...

If you ever go nuts though, give it a shot. Who knows, might even do well.
Ogres - because who honestly likes 2 wound heroes?
Really? He has none. He seems like he would have something tactical about him. He just seems like he would e fun to run. That extra combat res and the auto rally within 18. He may be slow as hell but he can still hit hard.
As GT said, he just doesn't do anything at all asides from being reasonably tough and hitting hard with his almighty 3 attacks. Stupidity is nigh-worthless against a lot of armies (if it carried over to the Ogre turn, it could at least stop units from fleeing as a charge reaction) and the combat res. bonus is far too small to make a jot of difference. Auto-passing rally is nice, but it still doesn't go anywhere near enough to account for his price tag.  Personally, the only time I could ever forsee myself using him would be if I had a silly amount of points to spend and could justify having him just sat at the back looking cool and occasionally getting units back into the fight. Sorry to be a downer, he's really cool and his model oozes character, but there's not enough polish in the world for this lump of rectal excretion.
I don't suffer from mental instability. In fact, I enjoy it immensely.

Gutlord Inquisitor: FORUM FIGHT! Me, I'm betting on the stronghold. Sure, they're outnumbered with thick skulls, stubborn bull-headedness and an inflated sense of self-worth, but hey, they're Ogres.
I could see tactical use for him in large 10k+ games, where you have large hordes of units. You bunker him in a horde of ironguts and give them a 4+ ward. He keeps surrounding hordes from fleeing and/or large groups of mournfang. At that point range, his cost doesn't really matter as much...
The issue is, I can make a Tyrant that is far more useful to my army than he is and much cheaper to boot.

And Tyrants are rarely taken in favor of Slaughtermasters.

The only reason I would take a Tyrant is because I am either playng at or above 3k and magic is maxed out.

And I would only take Greasus if I was playing an absolutly monstrously sized game. Like 10,000 points.
