Hi Everybody!
I used to play Skaven then Dark Elves in 6th Edition. A few months ago my friend Sean convinces me that 8th edition is a lot fun. So, fast forward to now, I finished my 1000 points Ogres just in time to play in a 3-game tourney at GW yesterday. I came 7th out of 12 players!!
Over the last few months building and painting the Ogres, I learnt a lot by reading great discussion threads here at Ogre Stronghold to prepare for the games. Thanks Everyone!!
"The MAWesome Tribe"
1000 points List
Fire Belly Lv 1, General
GW, Ruby Ring, Dispel Scroll
Always took the Fireball Spell
8x Ogre Bulls, Iron Fists
Musc & Champ
7x Leadblechers (and is joined by Firebelly)
Musc
1x Ironblaster
1x Piggy (Kitty to you)
1x Piggy
1x Piggy

I lucked out and had great opponents that made all the games so fun it didn't really matter who was winning or losing.
1) Vampire Counts (Jerry), Dawn Attack, WIN for me, (Jerry finishes 6th)
He had Etheral Fast Cav that didnt go for the Sabretusk redirecting bait and turned out couldnt be wounded by my Leaddies, went charged the IronBlaster's rear.. what a pain!! It finally got taken care of by Firebelly. Also because of Dawn Attach deployment, his general/caster was on foot by himself, with his skeleton guard unit far away. It was easy to blast the Vamp hero off the field and then his army started crumbling haha
2) Goblins (Jind), Battle for Pass, LOSS for me (Jind finishes 3rd place)
He had this deep unit of Goblins I kept trying to whittle down with my Leadblechers, and then the Ironblaster, redirecting it with my Piggies, before finally getting it into combat with my Bulls but they were just too much. And I fell for his bait, directing hits onto his hero which had a ward save!! I should have directed hits onto the goblins! Gahhh! I had hilarious Bad Luck with Iron Blaster. It didnt get any wounds on first turn, and then on 2nd turn it mis-fired and was out of commission for next turn as well, then Turn 5 it whiffed the wounds roll again.
3) Ogres (Sam), Meeting Engagement, LOSS for me (Sam wins the Tournament!)
He had a Lv 2 Butcher, 6 bulls, 7 ironguts, 4 leadblechers. Was a very fun game pitting Ogres vs Ogres, as it gave us both ideas for our new builds haha. It was a great grind down to him having 2 blocks barely alive to my 1 block barely alive.. both our general/casters alive too. I felt he got the edge right off the start because I had to deploy my whole army first (Meeting Engagement) my Ironblaster was on one corner because it was raised and he deployed entire army on opposite corner. In hindsight, I should have put the Ironblaster in the middle!!
It was a great day of gaming and I'm very motivated to continue painting more models so I can play 1500 points games!

Very respectable placing!
My Firebelly rolls double 1's on the MisCast Table. CRUD! Large Template with S10 hit on every model! 3 Leadblechers each get a wound each at S10 then my Firebelly rolls 2 and is taken out of the game LOL!
This sucks!! I was wanting to shoot with the leaddies!
I forgot to do Stomp attacks too haha oh well. I was quite thrilled how the combo charge worked out and that I won the game without a General!

I'm in love with the idea of Lego terrain....
