Heavens comet

original thread ↗

How is this being played as the rules RAW are different from what the meaning may have meant to be. Who knows?

So the rules say place a counter and explode as per rules. If it doesn't explode add a counter plus 1s. Starts at s4 but the way it's worded is the 1st counter is a counter so +1 s immediately.

So does it start at s4 or s5?
Cheers
Starts at 4+1 or 4+2 if you cast the boosted version.  So Str 5 is the minimum.

I was hoping that's how it rolled. Cheers.
Yeah, it starts with 1 marker and can be boosted to 2.

Followup on Comet...

The spell states to place a token on a fixed point on the battlefield.  When resolving the spell you have to measure distances from the token (not the center of the token).  How large should the token be??  Obviously it should be small (definitely smaller than a small round template).  I'd say in spirit of the rules you should measure from the center of the token, but I'm not sure I have to.  I have a 1 1/2" diameter token that I normally use, should I be measuring from the edge of the token (effectively enlarging my radius by 3/4")?

There is no set size in the rules.

I usually use either a coin or a die. The dice is good as its a decent size and can show how many markers there are on it. Use an odd die like a D12 or something so you remember its the comet.

Good advice here.  Recently had a 1st turn comet get 9 counters before it went off on Turn 6.  We probably picked up the dice markers 3 times ... lol.

I use lookout gnoblars. Gnoblars have never been so feared! :)
