Regiments of renown

I actually think WoC is the army to beat - their model count will be low, but you can go with a Chaos Warrior Champion + Chaos Knight combo that armies at those points totals simply are not equipped to deal with.

Ogres will deal with them better than most thanks to the fact that you can bring an Irongut, but it's still a scary prospect to fight that army.

A crypt horror with scaly skin and dragon helm.

A tomb kings chariot or ubshapti.

A kitted up a war dancer looks pretty good.

A Grail knight.

I'll tell you who doesn't make out to well in this game. Lizardmen. I don't have the Skaven book but they mite suffer also though gutterrunners , rat ogres and jazzails I dunno their points costs.
Can't bring a Grail Knight - he's Rare and over the cap.

Skaven could be all right, because they can bring either a pair of Jezzails or a pair of Gutter Runners. Stormvermin are also OK, but anything Core is going to have serious Ld issues.

Also I have to disagree I think Chaos Dwarves would be awesome. Here's too lists I threw together that I think looks like fun.

Chaos Dwarf
Chaos Dwarf with a Fireglaive
Bull Centaur with a Shield (2+ Armor)
Hobgoblin Wolf Raider
Hobgoblin Wolf Raider with a Spear

Or

Chaos Dwarf
Chaos Dwarf
Ironsworn Deathmask
Ironsworn
Hobgoblin Wolf Raider
Hobgoblin Wolf Raider
Hobgoblin Cuttthroat
Hobgoblin Cuttthroat

I'm sure other armies are stronger but I think these parties sound fun and tough.

These rule seem like another great example of GW as a Beer and Pretzels / Hobby / Friendly game and certainly not a balanced very well / competitive play game.
It's not that Chaos Dwarves would be bad at this... In fact, with Darkshard Armour, they are probably one of the better armies to put a party together from. It's that you can't, as the rules state only Army Books may be used, and it discounts any White Dwarf rules, Warhammer Forge rules etc. That said, casual play with a local group I am sure no one would mind... :)

After all, painting 100 night goblins is something you do in the morning just before you are off to work.

And I think you missed a 0 when you wrote 11 armies. The correct nr should be 110 armies I would think, based on your painting speed.
Rightm rightm sorry I should have stated that I was talking about Chaos Dwarves under the assumption that people are using this for home play and ignoring a clearly silly rule. Also I was discussing the Chaos Dwarves to try to figure out why they would be disallowed and if re-allowing them would break anything.
