Maw Breaker

original thread ↗

Tribe name:   Maw Breaker

Tribe symbol: a red great maw symbol with broken and shattered teeth on a white background.

Tyrant: Vorek the Defiant

Tribe background:

Called by the maw on the pilgrimage all ogres eventually take, Vorek the Defiant stood over looking the great maw and the wasteland surrounding it. But  Instead of awe and reverence, only anger, hatred, and sorrow filled him. Believing that before the coming of the great maw, ogres lived a peaceful life, untroubled by constant insatiable hunger and the incessant calling of the maw. Vorek left that horrid place and began to gather believers, others who were sick of, or even driven mad, being shackled to this thing, this monstrosity, horror that had destroyed what the ogre race had been. And what was worse, it was being revered as a god by other ogres.
The Maw Breakers, as they have come to call themselves, are now on a fanatical crusade to destroy the great maw and restore the ogre race to what it once was. The ranks of the the righteous swell with converts with each victory against those who stand in their way as they seek the knowledge and the power to reclaim their ancestral homeland and destroy the source of the darkness tearing at the soul of every living ogre.

I started this army for a local escalation league and plan on having around 1000pts when it's all said and done. I haven't touched a miniature in probably 7 years now so i'm way out of practice in just about all aspects of the hobby. This will also be my 1st time playing wfb as well. Comments and such are always welcome.

The escalation leagues they run here aren't the typical type. They are setup more to get people into the hobby and serve as a good way to slowly expand an existing army. This is the first box i bought for it. I hate the firebelly model and like converting stuff (not that i'm any good at it) so 1 box of ogres became 1 firebelly and 5 ironguts with bellower and sb.
This Is my firebelly. Not excited about how it turned out. Was going for an empire bright wizard look and ended up with a maneater/hunter look. I'll have to try again in the future and this guy will probably get converted into a hunter.

Sorry about the poor image quality. They looked pretty good on my phone lol.
3 of the converted ironguts.

The other 2 ironguts, bellower and SB.

I really like the theme, personally having never heard of an army hell-bent on destroying the Maw. I think your conversions are great, especially considering your time away from the hobby :)

Can't wait to see some more :)

After all, painting 100 night goblins is something you do in the morning just before you are off to work.

And I think you missed a 0 when you wrote 11 armies. The correct nr should be 110 armies I would think, based on your painting speed.
Quick update, throwing paint at my ogres.

If anyone could explain to me how you get around the 5 attachment/max file size restrictions, that would be awesome. This is the first forum I have really participated in and really don't any of the fancy things that can be done with posts.
Most people upload their photos to an image hosting website - I personally use Photobucket - and then copy the IMG link directly into the body text of their post, and the images are then embedded into the post, as opposed to being an attachment :)

I hope this helps :)

Thanks. I will try that on future posts
