Ogre shields?

original thread ↗

Hey dudes,
I was wondering if anyone has made ogres with shields, and if so what did you use?
Or has anyone suggestion? As I'm aiming to do some viking like ogres and have shields instead of ironfists, ive got a couple of minotaur shields but there is only 3 designs and they are hard to come by

So any suggestions would be appreciated, preferably something easy where I can replicate the desighn 8 or 10 times, ideally like a  round peice of 'wood' that I could sculpt a boss onto and then paint..

Have you looked at these? http://sciborminiatures.com/en_,shop.php?art=890#i/conversion_parts/big/celtic_shields_01.jpg
I thought about giving my Tyrant a shield made from a chariot wheel. I think it was the skaven plague furnace wheel.

But if you are going for viking the scibor celtic ones might be better.
Hmm they do look nice however I think think they might be abit on the small side, will have to measure a mino shield to give be abit of scale for it
I know, there should be a gnoblog somewhere with ogres based on roman legionaires.
They had those typical big roman shields in front of them.

I thought it was something from Ikim

Now all we need is the 7th edition rule that said if the models are killed they don't get to fight and we WOULD be a broken army! lol

I have used 54mm Roman shields, though the company I got them from doesn't exist anymore.  The minotaur shields would work, but they are pretty largish.  If you want the same look you can try the Gor or Orc shields which are a pretty decent size without obscuring most of the model.
I've found these to be pretty good (I have the round ones):
