my mate is running a Warriors army this weekend using the 7th edition book.
He has got two characters with juggers.
i am correct in thinking these characters can join units cant they. for example a unit of trolls or maybe warriors...possibly even knights?

Now all we need is the 7th edition rule that said if the models are killed they don't get to fight and we WOULD be a broken army! lol

Naturally they can join Skullcrushers and get a LoS roll but when joining units that aren't the same type or base size they will most likely have to sit on the side of the unit and forgo their LoS saves.

they are the same size as trolls atleast being monstrous infanty and monstrous cavalry and regen is a noice little save

A lord on jugger is on a 50x75 mm base (trolls are on 40x40) so it will not rank up with them.
As for look-out sir, remember it takes 5 RnF (excluding champions) in a unit to grant one... must WoC generals don't seem to run units of 5 Skullcrushers.
The smart thing is to run the jugger behind the unit of trolls - so that any potential shot has to go through several monstrous infantry models with regen (who stop cannonballs if they fail to kill them).

Unless they are in Skullcrushers of sufficient size they won't get LoS. Ironblaster their shiny metal arses.

my mistake. just checked and my characters on juggers are 50 by 50. maybe an older edition than the current...but as far as im aware thats legal isnt it. it is on the base it came with. like giants of varying bases.
only reason im checking is the jugga dudes fit in warrior units...legal yeah?
my friend would luv this and id luv to give himthe good news

Yes, the old models and bases are still legal. It would rank up with warriors, marauders, chosen, chaos knights, etc. It would not get a look-out sir from any of them, so it could easily be killed via cannon. The methods I mentioned in my previous post are the best way to protect him from cannons.

Hey. Monstrous infantry + cavalry don't need 5RnF models for LoS, they only require 3 as stated under their section in the BRB. Sorry don't have it on me, could someone check this? it would be much appreciated!
Nope. LOS requires 5 RnF - the 3 monstrous RnF is only regarding ranks, not LOS. Otherwise the look-out-gnoblar would be useless : )
If footprints does not collide, a 50x50mm model would fit in a 2.5x2.5mm unit but would not get the LOS unless they all have the same unit type.

Second that.
LOS is on 5 RnF models of the same unit type, with not counting in the captain of the unit as he is a model who can also benefit of the LOS
The Look out Gnoblar is the only exception to have it replaced with 3 RnF models, but again with not counting in the captain of the unit as he is a model who can also benefit of the LOS
