I fought an ogre civil war match the other day.
My list:
SM - Lvl 4, Dispel Scroll, Fencer's, Greedy Fist - 385
Br - BSB, HA, Enchanted Shield - 139
Bulls - 8, Command, LoG, Ironfists - 291
Ironguts - 8, Command, Stan o Disc, LoG - 394
LeadB - 4, Bellower - 182
LeadB - 4, Bellower - 182
Sabre - 21
Sabre - 21
Sabre - 21
Mournfang - 2, HA, IF - 140
Man Eaters - 5, EHW, Musician, Swiftstride, Scout - 280
Ironblaster - 170
Ironblaster - 170
2396 pts.
He took a tyrant, 2 firebellys, 12 ironguts, 2 units of 8 bulls, 3 mournfang, and 2 ironblasters.
I beat him to a bloody pulp and ate what was left over. I table him after 4 turns, and I still had:
Slaughermaster
3 Bulls
BSB
8 leadbelchers
5 maneaters
1 ironblaster
I still had about 1400 points left.
We did the dawn attack scenario(I think). It's the one where you have a diagnal line seperating you with only 12 in between both armies and you have to roll to see if you start on the board.
His entire army was present and only my slaughtermaster didn't deploy.
I deployed behind a wall and waited for him to come to me. I peppered him with leadbelchers, I hit his ironblaster turn 1 with my mournfang, my maneaters scouted behind his army and pressured him forward. His mournfang hit my ironguts, but because of the wall he didn't get impact hits and I murdered them. I also got the Maw off on his generals unit and killed 3 ironguts.
One of his bull/firebell units hit my ironguts and wiped them out after i killed the mournfang. His tyrant and iroguts hit my bulls and because of bullgorger on my bulls, I butchered his generals unit. He stuck because of stubborn and his bulls/firebelly threatened to flank me, so I decided to find out how good my slaughtermaster really was. I charged the unit directly in hopes of stopping him from flanking me. In my magic phase i jumped my SM to S6 T6. He wrecked house. WS 10, S6, T6, 5 attacks. He held them for 2 complete turns and let my leadbelchers flank his generals unit and win the combat. His other unit of bulls/firebelly was wiped by leadbelchers, ironblasters, and mournfang.
The civil war is over! At least until we get hungry again...
Note to ogre players. The lore of fire kinda sucks against ogres... He only got a few wounds with it the entire game. I was able to completely control magic. Though that's more than likely just because I had a lvl 4 and he only had a lvl 2...
