Flame Gut Tribe

So if you click the link below, you'll see my frost army. Its all painted with blue skin, and has a lot of 'frost options'. Anyway, I decided I wanted a flame one as well. Fire and ice! I will paint their skin with Bloodletter wash, or something along those lines.

Every unit has an element of flame, with the exception of the single model units (stonehorn, ironblasters, sabertusks).

I don't have a level 4, but I have the Hellheart in a unit that is M7 so I can cram that thing down my enemies throat. I also have 5 fire spells that each will benefit from kindleflame AND 5 breath attacks!!

What do you guys think?

I like the idea but I worry for your low leadership. With only LD 7 general and no standard of discipline you may have problems. Sure, the bsb helps but it can only go so far!

Well I was thinking about adding the Standard, but that would only make me broadcast a leadership 8, which most everything has anyway?

Ironguts are Leadership 8. With the standard, they would be 9 but the Firebelly General would still give out a leadership 8 bubble.

I am impressed you're doing a second 3500pt Ogre army! A fire themed army would be very cool and a nice contrast to your Frost Gut army.. How about a volcanic/angry maw setting? Add in some Lava?

Also no Gnoblar Trappers? Lots opportunities for conversions there and they do shoot sharp stuff in addition to land mines/traps.. very fire themed dont u think

If you want more leadership and stick to the fire theme, switching something out for a tyrant with the thundermace might be fitting, but have it be made from some magic volcano rock or w/e.
Cracks in the stone head of the mace, filled with lava, I can see something like that work.

Well I could do a tyrant but then I'd have to drop some other stuff... 300+ points is two firebellies or a whole unit! Do you guys think that is worth it?

Also I don't have any Gnoblars in my frost army because I just dont like 20mm bases lol. The trappers do fit really well though... Hmmm....

Maybe I can find some points for a few speed bump trappers.

If my math is correct.. you should have 4-5 Gnoblars holding a flaming torch from the leadblecher box set.. and then you can convert some more gnoblars by adding fire to their weapons?

Hey you know I think I still have a bunch of those lying around from when I made my other army.. Not a bad idea.. Man I gotta play with some points now. How many Gnoblars per unit? 10?

yeah 10x Gnoblar Trappers are awesome for their cost at 50 pts, you dont need any more models to force units do a terrain test when charging the trappers... so keep the trappers at base cost 50pts
dont ever flee, just stand & shoot sharp stuff at the charging units THEN they do a terrain test for every model in the unit lol.

Awesome ok. I'll see if I can find the points. Then I gotta figure out how I'm gonna afford a whole new army...
