The Empire:RPG No.1 "Just a Test of your...Skill"

original thread ↗

"M'Lord, your... uh, hirelings are here. Shall I let them in?"
"Hath you know sense, you would have given them passage already" I replied.
The night was cold, however the Imperial General Tent kept in a good deal of heat. In walked in a group of men. Majority of them were Imperial, like myself, but a strong Dwarf followed behind.
"I hope thay travels ailed you not? I am Captain Storm-Gale, 2nd Captain of the Alvstrong Regiment."
"Now, ye ponder the matter of your prescence here, do you not? My men are stretched thin. I have been informed that the Horstrom and Berran Regiments are losing their battles. I have heard of all of your past deeds, and I believe you are what I need to help protect our lands. The Orcs attack from the North-East, and Chaos Marauders from the North. Families flee and I can do naught more but watch. The Beastmen attack from the south, and the Vermin Empire has been sighted warring with other armies."
The men shuffled and I stood tall, asserting my power as I would ready to issue an order, "However, thay deeds lie in the past. I devoid trust of the past, and so I have a task for you all".
"Just a test for your... Skill".
"Bandit scourges are common to see in war torn areas. A certain Warband have raided my men of ammunitions and have attacked my civilians. Get rid of them."
I watched the men leave. I must accompany them, I thought, lest they need it.
"Accompany my soldiers, their hidehout is near the thundra.
Ok, going off previous RPG experience, the first thing out of my mouth should not be "lets split up."  The GM killed me with lighting last time.
You shall fear the warppuppies for the warppuppies have teeth and are hungry, and forsooth they have decided that thy are crunchy and taste good with ketchup
"By Sigmar! We hath only arrived on the plains land! Their den lies yonder that hill." "Pray, tell, what did ye do to make your earnings?"
"As a humble servant of our Lord, earnings are not my concern. Should somebody offer me coin to better our temples or as donation to the less fortunate then I will not deny them. However Our Holy Lord Sigmar provides me with what little I require and for that I am grateful. I am not here to acquire gold not glory, I am here to help those who fall victim to the darker powers, to redeem the poor souls who hath strayed from the path of righteousness,  and to smite down those that will not divert from their heresy"

Anders looks towards the hill and contemplates what the future may hold.

"Praying on the weak and betraying the Emperor will not stand, what kind of men are these?! I pray they choose not to engage us for I fear they will be sent into Morr's cold embrace should they do so." Anders said as he looks around his companions

"I shall pray for their souls and hope that they see the light."

"Nay, my friend. These men have no faith, but they believe that the end justifies the means"
The team approached a fort, surround by large, sharpened logs.
"Here we are. I know not of what lies inside, for my scouts failed their cause"
"I need to ask all of you, do ye wish to take part in this assail?" I raised my sword, those who will, raise your weapons"
"I shall assist you, however, my I am aware of my skill. It is yours now put to the test."
(Could all players who have posted in the Original Post please post here so I know who is actually going to play please)
"Though I carry no weapons to speak of I am armed with my faith and righteous conviction. We shall not allow these men to continue in their devious ways. By Sigmar they shall fall this day!"

Well I am armed with a bad hangover and a grenade.  Should be enough for this lot.
You shall fear the warppuppies for the warppuppies have teeth and are hungry, and forsooth they have decided that thy are crunchy and taste good with ketchup

From behind the tall Elf in his embroidened robes had kept his silence, watching als around him with his large deep eyes, obviously not really comvertable in his surroundings.

What are these barbarian Humans talking about? they speak to vast in their rough tongue to understand

As a short silence falls he picks his moment and speaks:

"Captain Stomgee is it? My name is Lafaralynn and I hail from Cothique of the beautifull Isle of Ulthuan. I have only recently arrived and for some reason not of my knowing was ushered into this band of Ruffians. I have no knowledge of this current endeavor you are planning here, nor the reason why my presence seems needed. Has a mistake been made mayhaps?"

He looks at the Captain with questioning eyes.
Ogre Achievements: 20 / 101
"That be Storm-G-A-L-E to you my good sir. Decieved are you not, thou art not the mage Lafaralynn The Elf I requested?"
The captain measures the elf; Taller than himself, fair and lithe. A normal Elf.
"We, shall defeat the briganous hounds who dog my men in the fort and reclaim any weapons or gold we can. I allow you keepsakes, but only 1 per soul"
"Ah! A Dwarf! A man of steel can do no wrong with a gun that size!"
*Positioning now takes place: To the north, in 400 metres, is a bandit camp. To the east and west are hills, which also happen to encircle the camp. Rocks cover each hills, averaging half a metre off the ground. To the south, there is open tundra.
When Positioning, you declare where your character will start from. Engineers benefit from longer ranges and heavier armour, so they are often best in the hills.
Warriors, have more potential on closing towards the enemy in combat. As such, entering through the main gates would be best.
Captain is able for any area, but will not play a huge part in the battle (unless needed) in this mission.
Mages differ. Buffing mages are best reasonably close to their group. Offensive mages are best in cover, to compensate for little armour. Hexing mages are best close to the enemy, behind the group.
Priests: Priests follow the same guidelines as Mages, but have some armour to mitigate damage.
These are just guidelines, but you guys can do whatever you want.*
"Men, I have a proposition for you. If we had a scout to check it out in the night, we would be better advantaged against the bandits. Is anybody up for it? We will plan our attack at night rrgardless."
@Darkminion: Have you decided what lore you will take?
"Given our options captain I feel it best I stay close to our friends here, I generally abhor violence but will smite down those that would see any harm come to me or our companions. My powers have limited range so I shall march into the fray with Sigmar's might at my side. Should any need healing I shall also do all within my power to end any ailments or pain our associates should suffer. I shall pray to Sigmar for aid in our righteous endeavour and if he wills it we shall complete our quest unscathed."

(How does healing actually work, you mentioned being Imperial I can heal but does it work like a prayer/spell, can it be done during battle or is it something that's done after a mission?)
Healing is resolved as a Prayer that needs 5+ to cast. It heals an ally with 4m. The total wounds healed is by how much the priest succeeded the prayer. So a priest rolling a 7 would heal 3, because he passed the 5.6 and 7 marks.
I will find a good vantage point in the hills to the west.  Some place that allows me a good shot when the opportunity presents itself.
You shall fear the warppuppies for the warppuppies have teeth and are hungry, and forsooth they have decided that thy are crunchy and taste good with ketchup

(Brain, changed my mind. I'll be a Caledorian fire mage, we already have a healer and some offense would be good I think)

Lafaralynn looks at Captain Stormgale at the mans short impression of an explenation and decides to merely shrug as he only understands half of it. When he starts pointing in directions Lafaralynn nods and speaks:

"Where would you have me? I specialise in fire magic and some range would be preferable. Some range away from that Dwarf would also be nice."

Ogre Achievements: 20 / 101
"Gentlemen! We are in this together. I know there has been animosity between the Noble Dwarves and Elves in the past but we should leave those reservations there, in the past! We must work as a team in order to complete our given objective. Both of your people are allies to the Emperor and his Holy Empire, can we not forget our differences and work as one?"

Anders rubs his chin in contemplation,, looking at the Lafaralynn before he speaks.

"Lafaralynn, if you feel you are above such things and cannot learn to live with our comrade then might I suggest to take up a position on the opposite hill to the east so that we have a cross fire set up? Between your skill in the Arts of Magic and the raw firepower our friend is carrying here our enemies wont know what hit them. What are your thoughts on this Captain?"
"Finally! There they are!"  He thought as he saw the group standing up on a hill.  Climbing as fast as he can he soon skidded to a halt next to the group of men. "Sorry I'm late, I got a little held up on my way here and had to ask around to find out where you lot ran off to..." the stranger said while bending over double trying to catch his breath.
Standing up and straightning his leather jerkin with one hand, and his brimmed hat with his other one he looked over the group:

"But where are my manners?!  Cortez is the name, and bounties are the game.  If there is a reward to be have, then I'm the man for the job!  The girls and I will make quick work of any person who has a price on their head, be they cultist, bandit, deserter or even noble." Cortez said while fingering his sword sword and small crossbow.

(Sorry for only joining now, I was out of the country for a while on business and didn't have access to internet.  Could someone give me a link to the thread where we generated our stats?)
There is only news.  There is no good or bad.
http://www.ogrestronghold.com/forum/index.php?topic=26332.0
Thanx Mast, will post up my background story there later today or tomorrow.
There is only news.  There is no good or bad.
"Mage, I believe that the Priest offer wise words. Find cover of the immovable stone, and use your fire to wreak havoc on those below. And you... Cortez? Join me by the gates. Now my men, shall we scout it out, or just charge in at night?"
*Darkminion: I'll post up some fire spells in the main thread*
"Roger cap'n!  If we are not needed to take these scoundrels alive then I believe our best bet would be to charge in, feint an attack and then pull back outside the walls.  If these louts are as foolish as most bandits they will probably follow us out where our other companions can help out with clear shots."

Cortez stood waiting for an answer, he wasn't really sure about his strategy as his normal hunting grounds are usually within a town or city, or between the trees of a forest...

I've never been one for this whole, battlefield... thing... too many open spaces...
There is only news.  There is no good or bad.
"Hmm." The captain contemplated on Cortez's words, systematically evaluating every possibility.
"These are no mere bandits... There leader is well educated in the language of war. We must use a different tactic."

Lafaralynn has a look of utter surprise on his face at how the human Captain spoke to him.

"Mage?"

These are indeed barbarians, in Asuryans name why did I come here?

He is about to speak up again as Cortez starts speaking battle plans with the Captain. He looks around at all the eager faces and then merely shrugs and starts to move toward his appointed spot. As he walks he shakes his head muttering to himself

"Mage, he says...."

Ogre Achievements: 20 / 101
Taking note of Lafaralynn's expression, the Captain asks
"What ails you my friend? Ahh, you have set up on the other hill. Pray tell mage, what spells thoust behold?"
"Cortez, ready yourself by the gates, and charge in on my word."
"Where does Sigmar guide you priest? Where shall you be?"
"Dwarf! On my command, shoot into the camp at any you can see! Aim to kill!" And Elf! Fire once the dwarf reloads! Then Cortez here shall charge in through the gate, the priest shall offer Sigmar's protection and I shall observe your skill. When needed, I shall strike. When not, I shall be observing."
"Good Luck to you men!"
"Dwarf! Fire!"
*Ok Torg, please roll 1d10 and halve it for Night Fighting. (Round up) Thats how many enemies can be seen.*
*Darkminion, you do the same.*
*MaanNaam you can't do much until the gate is opened, which will be when Torg fires his shot*
*MasteroDisaster you can pray before to help your team if you wish*

You shall fear the warppuppies for the warppuppies have teeth and are hungry, and forsooth they have decided that thy are crunchy and taste good with ketchup

Lafaralynn ignores the tone of the dribbeling human and decides to show them why his race is indeed superior. At his position he concentrates on the winds of magic and his eyes start to glow slightly as he takes in the first ticklings of the chaotic powers, harnassing them into a sparckle within him and fuelling the flame. As his hands start to ignite it seems a ball of fire grows slowly in his ever turning hands, crackling with arcane power and waiting to be released.

(ooc: I rolled a 6)

(ooc1: Casting fireball)

(ooc2: Dont really know how this goes, so waiting for a signal before I let it go. If another roll is needed for the spell and if I have targets I do not mind if you do the roll for me)
Ogre Achievements: 20 / 101
Okay Torg, you see two people, will you fire?
(Roll your Ballistic Skill +10 because of surprise attack)
You have the Longshot, so two shots can be fired
Okay Darkminion, here we go:
Just roll another dice for perception and half it. (round up) Thats who you can aim at.
So you cast Fireball. You only fired Singular I assume?
Fireball is cast on 5+, you rolled a 6, so you plus your wizard level, 6+1, and you plus your High Elf ability, 7+1 so you end up on 8. Now it's not macro casted because no double is scored. Also, for future references, you don't get Dual Fireballs by meeting a casting value on a Singular fireball. You declare
I cast Fireball (Singular etc.)
So getting 10 on a Singular Fireball will not transform into dual Fireballs. It's just Macro Singular Fireball.
Cortez unsheathed his short sword focusing on the gate. "Al right Bianca, time to feed you."

*Background story is up on the other thread (finally)*
There is only news.  There is no good or bad.
"Captain I shall follow Cortez and Yourself through the main gates. I fear my healing powers may be required in the front lines. I should like to offer up a short prayer to Sigmar before we charge into the Fray. With his blessing their attacks shall be like arrows upon a cliff face!"

Anders starts to mummer his prayers, mustering all his belief and courage he waits for his signal to charge with his companions. As his prayer reaches it's crescendo Anders starts to glow with a brilliant golden aura. Yellow and Gold mist dances around his body as though it has a life of it's own. He claps his hands as the prayer is complete hoping that Sigmar has heard his plea.

(OOC - Not quite sure how this works as I'm not sure what my WP bonus is (WP 30) but I'm hoping to cast Shield of Gold on 9+, I rolled a 6 on a D10)
Grumbling something about shoddy human craftsmanship, I fire twice (because why not?).  First shot = 22+8+10=40.  Second shot = 22+5=27.
You shall fear the warppuppies for the warppuppies have teeth and are hungry, and forsooth they have decided that thy are crunchy and taste good with ketchup
Okay Mastero, your bonus for any stat is the "ten" digit. Ie
27= Bonus is 2
So you roll 6+3 for bonus and you prayed successfuly!
Ok Torg, for you, Shooting is different.
First you fire two shots.
You name one dice your "tenner" and one dice your "unit". Next you see if you got UNDER your Balistic Skill. Then we apply bonus, so for Surprise attack, you add +10 to your Ballistic Skill. I say the fact that spell casting is to beat a value, and yours is to score under it, so maybe that confused you? Just roll the shots again and I shall see what happens.
I'll post up a glossary on the main post and then you guys can use it for reference  ;)
As Anders clapped his hands the mist and smoke that had previously enveloped him seemed to solidify into an orb around him. The Orb itself still had a swirling appearance like fresh milk being poured into a cup of tea however he knew that it's appearance was quite deceptive to the untrained eye, arrow nor steel could penetrate this aura of holy power easily. Anders eyes were now glowing with a golden light and a fire that could bring down a charging treeman. He smiled as he said

"Stay close men, they shall not be able to penetrate my warding barrier. Sigmar has favored us this day, he has deemed this a worthy quest. Let us smite the unbelievers! This is a good sign!"
Running to Anders' side Cortez started shouting: "Shun the non-believers!!"  While thinking to himself: 'I have no idea what I'm doing...'
There is only news.  There is no good or bad.
The Bandits awaken to see a group of men storm their hold.
Suddenly, 1 Bandit is disintergrated by a Fireball and others rush to help.
"GET BACK AND FIIIGHT!!!" A booming voice roared.
"Skarr-Braun? What holds this man to bandits?" the captain spoke. <I cannot allow my men to venture forth to defeat him. He layeth waste to many a foe> The Captain loads his revolver, takes aim, and fires at an unsuspecting Bandit. The revolver hits his knee, and the Bandit doesn't move except to keel over in pain.
"Dwarf! Take fire on them!"
*The camp is now alit with some flames and torches, and as such, Torg and Darkminion can see 14 Bandits in total. 4 are heading towards the main gate and 6 retreat to a cave in the back of the fort. 2 Bandits are dead already. 2 Bandits are halfway between the gate and the cave.*
Okay Torg, you got your firing a bit mixed up there, but If I assume correctly and put it right, your second shot swerces to hit a guy in the troath (critical hit). So roll the damage of the gun (2d10+10) and tell me what you got.
I got a total of 23 (sorry for the late reply)
You shall fear the warppuppies for the warppuppies have teeth and are hungry, and forsooth they have decided that thy are crunchy and taste good with ketchup
Okay, 1 Bandit realises the bullet's impact, and falls to the ground in agony, gurgling blood.
There is a hole in the guy.(Also, Critical Hit would grant you a dice extra of damage, but that would be over-kill)
(Also have you figured out the rules for shooting on the glossary post?)
I believe so.  Roll 2d10 (one being multiplied by 10) to see if I hit.  Then I roll for damage using the guns characteristics.
You shall fear the warppuppies for the warppuppies have teeth and are hungry, and forsooth they have decided that thy are crunchy and taste good with ketchup
*Sorry for long time, been busy today and yesterday*
The bandits rally at the call of the Brute, and so, fire arrows into Darkminion and Torg.
Whilst 1 hits Darkminion, the arrow fails to injure him, and Torg cleverly lifts up his rifle to deflect the arrow, which pings on to the floor.
Bandits are charging towards Cortez and Anders, what will you guys do for yer next turn?
I'll probably just take another shot.  Any modifiers against moving targets?
You shall fear the warppuppies for the warppuppies have teeth and are hungry, and forsooth they have decided that thy are crunchy and taste good with ketchup
Torg, you have to score Ballistic Skill or under. Also, what bandit groups are you targetting? Will you fire 2 or 1 shots and reload 1?
(OOC - Naturally I'll pray for my life! )

Anders see's the ruffians rushing towards him and Cortez and again begins to offer a pray for Sigmar's aid.

(OOC - I'll attempt to Pray "Sword of the Empire" at one of the Bandits...
WOOT! I rolled a 9!!! So 9 + WP Bonus of 3 = 12. I then rolled 2D10 for damage and got a 3 + 7 = 10)

He raises his hand out towards the approaching foe. As he does so some of the energy surrounding him and now Cortez siphons from the shielding aura to the outstretched hand. There it forms a sword of brilliant light and golden righteous fury. Just as quickly as the blade forms it shoots forth, it roars through the air aiming for the bandits rushing into the fray.

"Purge the unbeliever!" Anders shouts as the sword it unleashed towards it's intended victim.

(OOC - Does praying only take up one action? If so I'll cast "Sword of the Empire" twice)
The Bandit realises his arm being cast off by the burning sword, but trudges on to assail his targets.
(Prayers take precedence so you must only pray once a turn as you "calm down". You may still move etc.)
I take a shot at the bandit charging towards the Priest.  34, and I believe that that is a miss.  I'll use my second action to reload.
You shall fear the warppuppies for the warppuppies have teeth and are hungry, and forsooth they have decided that thy are crunchy and taste good with ketchup
*Ok, MaanNaam and Darkminion still have actions to do, if you guys are able.)
I will attack the bandit closing on me and Anders:
I rolled 11 with my 2d10.  I believe that's a hit.

I rolled 14 for damage, so that is 19 damage (2D10+5).  With my second action I'll take a guard action/stance next to Anders.
There is only news.  There is no good or bad.
With your crossbow I assume? And I assume you multiplyed 1 dice by 10 before rolling? If so, good roll! So the bandit group closing in is thinning and then another falls to the ground. An arrow in the head.
(A guard stance isn't availeable to you unless your a Knight, you can Ready yourself, but Guard is better:
Instead of the normal "Ready" rules, the Guarded warrior recieves a +5 to his Toughness and doubles his shield protection. He also suffers no "Surprise!" damage.
Ready: The player who is readied may not suffer "Surprise!" damage from an enemy charging from the front.
Once you reach level 12 and Become a Ghost, you get this cool ability:
First Strike: The Ghost is allowed to attack the assailant once before they strike as a free action. The assailant will suffer "Surprise!" damage as normal.)
Very well, I'll take a ready stance with my second action.
There is only news.  There is no good or bad.
Probably should of asked this before, but how many rounds does my gun hold?
You shall fear the warppuppies for the warppuppies have teeth and are hungry, and forsooth they have decided that thy are crunchy and taste good with ketchup
Okay, waiting for Darkminion, if he doesn't reply he loses his action.
Torg your Hochland Rifle has enough rounds to last the battle normally, but for special missions there might be a limit. Same with crossbow bolts. Slings however have infinite ammo regardless as, rocks are free, and everywhere!
Ah, I meant how many shots can I fire before I have to reload.
You shall fear the warppuppies for the warppuppies have teeth and are hungry, and forsooth they have decided that thy are crunchy and taste good with ketchup

(ooc: quick post. Sorry guys, have some things going on IRL. Don't count on me much for a while, sorry!)

D...
Ogre Achievements: 20 / 101
(Ok thats fine  ;) I can assume you will keep on casting Fireballs for a while? If so, then I could test for you and that way it won't slow down the game, you can get experience and you can jump back in when ready)
So.... is it the next action phase?
You shall fear the warppuppies for the warppuppies have teeth and are hungry, and forsooth they have decided that thy are crunchy and taste good with ketchup
(OOC - Indeed, In the words of Anders "I have an itch to smite thy foe!" :D, what's the next step?)
Yep, Darkminion is quite busy so:
He manages to macro cast dual-Fireball, and he hits a bandit to incinerate him.
Bandits phase now and archers fire at Torg, hitting and inflicting 18 damage, so Torg, you have to pass an agility test to take cover and suffer no wounds. (Pick a d10 and multiply by 10 and roll another d10. Try to get under your Agility)
Bandits arrive at Cortez and Anders, (MaanNaam will be fighting one so a to hit and damage roll please).
Anders, you are caught off guard but the bandir misses regardless. MaanNaam you are hit for 3 wounds. (Dodge or Parry? One is Agility test other is Weapon Skill)
So Anders and MaanNaam you guys can attack back and Torg you can roll and fire back or reload some more bullets etc.
(OOC - Is my Shield Prayer still in effect or does that only last for a certain length of time? Also can I use my Sword of the Empire to attack people who are attacking me in combat?)
I use my short sword to attack the closest bandit with a roll of 19.

After hitting I do 5 damage... :|

I'll use my second action to take a ready stance.
There is only news.  There is no good or bad.
Mastero, it lasts for 1 enemy round. So it is now over. You may try to pray again, but the bandit will auto-hit you.
Wow  MaanNaam, your rolls are very accurate! Also you don't need athother ready stance as you are in combat, you can attack again with your hidden blade though.
(From your roll) The bandit is surprised at your speed, and suffers a blow to the chest, but manages to survive the blow
(I've been rolling 1 for my 10s die the past 3 times :D  let's hope it holds up)

I'll attack a second time with my hidden blade then.
First roll is a... 59... :|  I believe this time I've missed
There is only news.  There is no good or bad.
(OOC - I'll attempt to attack my opponent twice with my... sigh... WS 13 Dagger lol

1st Roll - 8 + 1 = 81
2nd Roll - 2 + 3 = 23

So I believe my epic combat prowess have failed me)
I will fire twice at who ever I can see
1st shot=93........are there penalties for missing that badly
2nd shot= 38.
So 2 misses.  Fantastic.
You shall fear the warppuppies for the warppuppies have teeth and are hungry, and forsooth they have decided that thy are crunchy and taste good with ketchup
Okay, MaanNaam, you are safe for now as the bandit misses with his axe.
Mastero, your epic skills have blown my mind XD
Torg, you can see 1 person, but due to rolling so poorly, the gun becomes jammed and you must spend your next action to unclog it and all other nescessary actions to fully reload it. (Roll over 85 and it clogs. 100 explodes.)
"Bah, they'll be butchered..." the Captain sighs, who proceeds to fire his revolvers at the bandit assailing Anders and Cortez.
I miss MaanNaam's assailant, but I kill Mastero's bandit.
(Also,
Torg: Achievement Unlocked: Head-Shot: +2 Bs
Mastero: Favour Returned: +2 Fellowship
MaanNaam: "What the?!": +2 Agility
Darkminion: Macro-Man: +2 Will Power)
Bandits' turn:
"FETCH ME HIS SKULL!!!" Torg and Darkminion, you both notice a substantially larger bandit arise from the ranks, barrelling through debris like daisies.
"CHAAAAARGE!"
1 Bandit is nearing Darkminion, (who is then set on fire)
1 Bandit races towards Torg and attempts climbing the walls.
2 Bandits fire arrows at Torg, both hit but only 1 hurts. Take 6 wounds. (Dwarves have 20 in total)
2 More Bandits run towards Mastero and Maan, but are out if range for close combat.
MaanNaam, your Bandit hits you and wounds you for a substantial 8 wounds. You may choose to Parry or Dodge. (Ws or Ag test.) (Humans have 16 wounds in total)
Mastero, you are fine... End of turn.
I will attempt a dodge.

Roll: 23 BOOYA!!!! :D

That is a successful dodge on unmodified Agility.

*Question.  Can we use a D100 (online D&D dice roller) instead of using 2D10 and multiplying one by 10?
There is only news.  There is no good or bad.
Anders nods towards their Captain with appreciation and then focuses on the new foes rushing towards him and Cortez. Again he raises out his hand and starts to mutter his heavenly chant hoping Sigmar will smite his quarry.

(OOC - I will again attempt to skewer one of the bandits charging towards Anders and Cortez with Sword of the Empire)

Roll = WP3 + 7= 10 So I pray successfully.
Damage = 5 + 9 = 14 (OOC - 'Av it! *cough cough* I mean Sigmar be Praised! :lol:)

Again a Sword of righteous force forms in front of Anders' outstretched hand and rips through the air at blinding speed towards the oncoming bandit.

(OOC - I was just re-reading the summary and had a quick question. Do I know ALL the prayers listed in the original post or just the 2 that I chose? It says in the summary I know them all.... that would be epic!  :D)
@MaanNaam, I suppose so, but it does take some of the random factor out.
@Mastero, Yep. You know them all. Had a quick flick through the book and you know the "Devotee" prayers. There are still the "Zealot, Matriarch and Arch-Lector" prayers!
The bandits charging toward Anders and Cortez only realise the sword until 1 of them is cut in half.
Darkminion will cast fireball at the bandits closing in on Torg:
It's casted and the bandit is set on fire, just a metre from the edge of Torg's cover.
"STOP DYING AND GET THEMM!!"
(OOC - *Drools* hahahaa awesome! I'm gonna have some fun with the next bandit foolish enough to attack me )

(Oh, another quick question - In the event I were to cast my prayer "Shout of the Emperor" (AoE 1D10+8) will this affect friendly characters. I ask because I don't want to end up blasting MaanNaam if I were to attempt it lol)
Noticing something burning I take the opportunity to light my pipe on the still screaming bandit.  I then duck my head, unclog my gun and reload it.
You shall fear the warppuppies for the warppuppies have teeth and are hungry, and forsooth they have decided that thy are crunchy and taste good with ketchup
Mastero, you can't hurt them with Voice of Emporor. So Shout away!
Torg, that is probably the best reaction ever!
"OUTA MY WAY!" Cortez and Anders see a huge, 7ft tall wall of bulging muscles clad in spike adorned armour burst through some bandits (Dammit, rolled to wound them and killed them. YOLO)
The hulking warrior takes two war axes into his hands, and charges.
Turn over. Guys, your go, and Torg can shoot now! (Mastero, he still would be out of range for your prayers. BUT don't be fooled. He's fast.)
"This be a true testament of their skill... Sigmar guide ye" the Captain murmered.
I shall shoot twice.  1st shot=87.......%$$#, using a fate to reroll that one. 47.  Still not a hit.
2nd shot= 25....miss by one.  Crap.
You shall fear the warppuppies for the warppuppies have teeth and are hungry, and forsooth they have decided that thy are crunchy and taste good with ketchup
"Appalling and despicable! This brute would slay his own underlings?! He has truly strayed from Sigmar's light. Cortez.... steel yourself, this one looks like trouble but fear not. Sigmar shall protect us and I shall aid you where I can."

(OOC - I'm going to pray "Shield of Gold" again. Your "BUT don't be fooled. He's fast" comment worries me lol)

Roll = WP3 + 10 = 13 (Talk about overkill but what a roll!)

Anders begins to pray once more beseeching Sigmar's aid and it is granted. Once again the prayer reaches it's peak and when he is done he claps his hands together. As before the golden aura surrounds Anders, it's light dancing and swirling around him like smoke in a ray of light until it finally takes the form of the golden orb around both himself and Cortez.

"We are truly blessed this day, let us hope our luck holds"

(OOC - Is there a brace, or aim action I can use with my first action to give me a bonus to my range attack in my second action?)
There is only news.  There is no good or bad.
No, but you can stand still for an action and you get +5 Bs.
" Brace yourself men! He is a man of the Chaos!"
"Blood and Ashes!  That bloke is as big as a mountain!"
Cortez drew his crossbow, taking his time to manage his breathing. Better not miss this one...
Rolling a: 23 Cortez fires his crossbow, the bolt flying straight and true, hitting the beast of a man
doing:16 damage!

"Take that ya spineless lump of man meat!"
There is only news.  There is no good or bad.
The bolt hit the brute, but shrugging most of the pain off, he continues to sprint towards Cortez and Anders.
Asaryman casts dual fireball on him, and burns the brute.
"I'LL KILL YOY ALL!"
Bandits turn:
The brute sprints towards Cortez and Anders, only 2 metres away now.
End of turn. Ok guys, your go.
Probably about time someone did something stupid and reckless...

With this thought Cortez grabbed his short sword and counter-charged the approaching brute.
Swinging down with his blade using all of his might (rolling 52) and missing his target by a mile, Cortez's sword hits the ground next to the bandit.

Oh ballz...

(OOC - Did my counter-charge attack thing take 1 action or both actions?  I assume it will take 1 action to move torwards the enemy and then my 2nd action to attack him.)
There is only news.  There is no good or bad.
The sword, fires from Ander's fingertips, and crashes into the Brute.
"THATS IT?! HAHA! SIGMAR FORGOT YOU BOY. AND YOU!!! COME AT ME! ATTACK ME!"
(0 Damage.)
I spend an action composing a song to the tune of the still screaming bandit for luck. I spend my next action looking for anything evil or vegetable related that might give this monstrosity a shield.

You could shoot the Brute?
That doesn't seem to be working but ok.  No one in combat with the brute, so at least I won't do any friendly fire.  1st shot 11.  Damage=25
2nd shot 45, miss.  I'm still composing that song though.

Brute has 1 damage left!!
"RAAAARGH! WHO SHOT ME?! YOU!!!"
*Throws axe at Torg. Hits and deals 6 wounds.*
"*pant pant*"
End of Turn. The Brute has 1 wound left!
FINISH HIM!
Shoot twice.  First=81.  Using a fate=72.  Second shot=35, miss.

Anders stands there with a look of disbelief on his face.

"How could this heretic still be standing?! Sigmar hast thou forsaken me? No I have done his work and done it without question! I shall persevere!" Anders thought to himself.

Anders attempts to smite down blasphemous Brute once more

(OOC - Sword of the Empire - Roll = WP3 + 5 = 8. Damage = 9 + 8 = 17. Now THAT's what I'm talking about!)

"This time you blasphemous scum, this time you shall fall!!" Anders cries as he releases his power once more.
"THAT... ugh... ALL YOU GOT?!!" (No Damage)
Anders again stands in shock that his might could not fell the Brute.

"He is an abomination, he must not be allowed to live beyond this day!" Anders cries out to his companions

(OOC - You weren't kidding when you said this guy is OP. He's a meathead!)
You neee to score 21 damage for a single wound. Highly OP for a begginer trial, but you all do get a sh!t-ton of Xp.
(OOC - 21 DAMAGE?!?!?! daaaamn! Looks like I can't even hurt him then lol. Wasted 2 turns beating on his armour.. Stupid Sigmar and his pansy prayers.... :| )
(Don't worry, you will learn better damage spells later. Use your Buffs!)
(OOC - I'm not really sure whether I've played this turn or not...)
There is only news.  There is no good or bad.
Nope. You still have 2 actions.
Cortez Gathers the last bit of his courage, although it might have been insanity at this point, he wasn't completely sure.  What ever it may be, he was going to use it.

Grabbing his short sword in both hands, he starts running at the brute from behind, jumping into the air Cortez swings down with his blade (hit:22) thrusting the sword into the Brute's neck with all his might doing (23) damage!

(OOC - I hope this gamble worked, otherwise I might be in trouble... :P)
There is only news.  There is no good or bad.
With a last gurgling sound, the Brute stumps over. His body lifeless, and the camp captured.
"Well, I never imagined a man of Chaos to be raiding the towns. The brute was a marauder, most likely that of Khorne. I fear this quest is more hazordous then before anticipated. Men, ye have shown your courage and loyalty is as strong as the weapons you use. I hand ye your pay, 300gold (gd) each."
"I must watch over my armies here. In the meantime, I want you to return to your homelands for seven passings of the moon. On the 8th rise of sun return here. Whilst you are there, I implore you train and that you further equip yourselves... And say goodbye to loved ones."
A TEST OF YOUR SKILL: COMPLETED!

Anders: +2 to the following: Toughness, Willpower and Fellowship.

(OOC)
Okay guys, over the next three days, each of us are in our homeland. I'll let those of you write fluff if you want on the original thread and you guys can include what you want to buy and I'll price it for you. The reason why we have three days is because I will not be here tomorrow and maybe not on Tuesday.
Price of Weapons: All weapons come under category, and all categories have a price. It's going to be up on the main thread.
