Generally the one-dimensional armies that don't need a huge amount of coordination to work well. Both WoC and Dwarven armies can tend towards this, usually through no fault of the players. I know there are some out there who feel the Ogres play this way too, some of our choice units and builds are relatively point-and-click in some respects.
I don't suffer from mental instability. In fact, I enjoy it immensely.
Gutlord Inquisitor: FORUM FIGHT! Me, I'm betting on the stronghold. Sure, they're outnumbered with thick skulls, stubborn bull-headedness and an inflated sense of self-worth, but hey, they're Ogres.

Skaven... no army should have Warmachines that benefit from misfiring. The book is pure filth, and I look forward to when it is redone.
The objective of the game is to win. The point of the game is to have fun. The two should never be confused.

When I was playing my Lizard army, I really hated my friends daemon army, mainly because he'd take all the filth in the army while I usually make softer lists. Facing Kairos every game isn't fun. Add in the Mask, Skulltaker and the Blue Scribes and you've got a pretty nasty start of a Daemons list. The onlytime he didn't run Kairos, he ran a Ld bomb set up. I still won more then I lost but ir wasn't always fun.

Tomb Kings and Wood Elves - plain easy to destroy and no matter how skilled the opponent is, I always get on top with very few losses. Dwarfs, while not easy, are too predictable and often boring.

Chaos Dwarfs. Just ridiculous amount of multi wound weapons. Kadii destroyer. Deaom engine that count as unique allowing them to have their high Toughness even in CC. Meh even some of their magic is just a little silly (granted some of the spells are rubbish but there some just seriously powerfull ones.)
But yeah Chaos dwarfs = nasty evil little men that hurts ogres proper good!

The traditional wood elves are just irritating as hell to play against. "I'm going to just run circles around you and plink away for 6 rounds."
Any army that runs 2 casters with Shadow. 1 is okay, but that lore is the most stupidly over-powered in the game.

WoC and DE lists. but maybe its cos i am sick of always facing 2-3 Psuns a game. WoC puppet means that the danger of a miscast is drastically reduced so its always 6 dicers...

I don't mind getting crushed nearly as much as I mind being bored, so my vote has to go with Dwarves. Even if its an easy matchup, its still a boring as hell game. Honorable mention to Gutstar, actually, as that army is basically just a check on whether or not you can take down a big blob of ogres.

I hate fighting dwarves because they are boring. If you play it right you will never lose, but it's the same every time. I have never played a dwarf player that did anything original. Gun-line or heavy gun line.
I hate fighting skaven because they are the hardest for me to beat. I like taking come all lists, but to beat skaven i have to fine tune a specific list.
The enemy of my enemy is my double enemy.

My dwarf friend runs 4 units of miners with the drills. Bit of a surprise once they pop up, but easy to beat.

I must not be gettign it or forgetting something here... I play skaven as well, but how do they benefit from misfiring in your opinion???

Daemons. Everybody and their mother has a daemon army. And they all look the same, with hordes of bloodletters and pink horrors and flamers. They don't even look that good either, it's like my army is fighting something out of a Saturday Morning Cartoon.

It's moments like this that remind me not to read forums in the middle of lectures. As for my opinion, facing an ethereal loremaster shadow Slann is one of the worst things to face combined with a horde of Saurus and lots of chameleons and my usual appreciation of lizardmen fades fast.

My list would basically go like this though I'm unsure of the order. All of these have a common tone to them for me from my side of the table. When I play them I feel like I'm just watching the game and waiting for them to make a mistake in a preprogrammed plan of events.
Vampire Counts - they seem to ignore the most core rules which I despise. Immune to psychology , new bullshit crumble faq rules , immune to non-magic weapons , herohammer , screams , everything flies......
Dark Elves - monster list plus untouchable lord on flying mount. way too much kill power for the frontage so you cant actually bring anything to bear against. Pre-won numberhammer.
Skaven - Given so many bonuses and benefit rules including some seriously underpriced units all under the guise that they are prone to blowing up ,which doesn't happen any more then anyone else, and have poor leadership , except they have a million rule to make that not matter.
High Elves - Great Eagles are too good a chaff drop to be able to bring twice as many as other people. Damn untouchable Whitelion horde with challanging untouchable can't misscast wizard inside rules ignoring powerbuild puts this otherwise good army in my most hated list.
haven't played some of the other armies in a long time or at a point value to really be sure. Lizards - haven't played Lizardmen in a long time or with the new book but i never hated playing them back then. Strong but fair army (grrr cold blooded is too much) but that might be in part becuase the player was a good sport. Warriors of chaos - haven't faced them at higher then 1000 points so i can't judge but then never bothered me. Hate their aesthetic and GW riding their d*** so much and feel that they have no excuse to have numbers that high across the board but I've not really had too too hard a time with them in the past so whatever. Brettonians - I've totally stomped them a few time and been utterly demolished by them once. Generalship made the difference so they seem fair to me if a little bit one trick. Different types of Knights need to look more different on the table and the army needs a rewrite for more versatile tactics badly. (way more then WoC needed anything damn you GW) Woodelves - I imagine the sound of arrows bouncing off mournfangs sounds like steel drum music. Never played them above 500 points so can't judge. Beastmen - you bring 3 massive hordes and always have 12 casting dice every turn ok. at least there is some table movement tactics and I'm allowed to actually fight you. Always a fun army to fight. Lots to eat and a good use of hellheart. Deamons of Chaos - never faced them above 1000 points. when i do it will be hordes of bloodletters I imagine so not too afraid. Slaanesh leadership bomb list i fear but never seen anyone play it. Stupid Crumble rule cheese would likely drive me up the wall at higher points. Empire - never played them above 500 points. Look like a blast to play to me. Dwarves - I always feel bad for the other player. Chaos Dwarves - never seen them Tomb Kings - never seen them Ogre Kingdoms - I'm the only one that plays them in my area far as i know. Mirror match doesn't sound too interesting to me anyway.
Did I forget anyone?
In the end it comes down to this. When i play your army do i feel like i played a game with tough movement choices and good back and forth OR do I feel like I was a observer to your build playing out in the planned for manner once more. Was the game played on the table or in the book.

I absolutely despise anything that brings enough cheese to the table to feed Skavenblight for decades, in short: mostly those silly carry-overs from 7th ed. Oh, and Warriors of Chaos for being a w**kfest for all those people who obviously need to overcompensate for... something.

Skaven. They are so annoying to play against. If its not my opponent forgetting one of the thousands of rules or my opponent rolling 120 dice for his Slaves' slings and managing only one wound. I don't give Skaven players (war machine/slave spammers) the benefit of the doubt because they tend to abuse the hell out of poorly written vague rules. I don't get frazzled when I play against filth like double slann/maxed out salamanders or ld bomb armies, just against Skaven.
Toad_Raider27 Jan 2013
By a country mile, Dwarves. They're boring to play against, and boring to look at. Just boring all around. I don't know why anybody plays the army, seriously. Is it that hard to play with a movement and a magic phase?

Plague Furnace, on a roll of a 6 the unit pushing gets to fight a round of combat again. The D6 losses are laughable.

I tend to play people who run a lot of variety in their lists. That in mind, Dwarves tend to come out as the most boring. I never see anything particularly unusual there, and I've seen some ridiculously strange Warriors and Skaven lists.
(Although I've yet to see a Vampire Counts list with much other than hordes of shambling dead. Variety my ass.)
Ogres - because who honestly likes 2 wound heroes?
ThegreatMawk04 Feb 2013
I don't like Lizardmen. Every Lman player takes a Slaan and to me alot of his special rules to rule the magic phase (taking away your 6's on casting, extra dice) just make the game less fun.
I don't really like playing vs. any undead army either....the crumble thing is just annoying, alot of strategy involves over running and timing. I don't like to make someone die in combat from crumbling and get no over run. Tomb Kings and VC's are kind of lame to play against IMO.
OK: 34-10 Recent Games 1) Win vs Empire 1500 points 2) Loss vs Empire 1500 points 3) Win vs Beastmen 2400 points

A good friend of mine (who got me into Warhammer actually) used to play a slayer heavy list, and with all the attacks he used to dish out it was actually quite a decent enough army when he got the charge (this, of course, was before 8th, and when I played an Eternal Guard Wood Elf army....my how I've progressed...haha).
I love the look and fluff of dwarves, but the army is so BORING it's almost unbearable. There's almost no other way to field them than shooting! They're supposed to be formidable and unmoving warriors, as well as the best engineers the world has to offer...but apparently they forgot how to attack. Or do anything for that matter.
