White Dwarf CSM vs dark angels interesting tidbit...

Remember that great, iconic and gripping battle report in last month's White Dwarf between the new CSM codex and the Dark Angels, in which both players agreed to ignore the FOC and point totals, play with their collections, and in which (spoiler!) the dark angels snatch victory at the last moment with a lucky charge?

Interesting thing about that.

Turns out the Chaos list totalled 2953 points. The Dark Angels army equalled 3388 points.

Just pointing that out.

Its definitly a milestone in WD batreps. Just when you think they couldn't sink any lower they pull this.

And here I was thinking there might be some hope left for them when the Necrons lost their Inaugural Batrep against Eldar and Space Marines

Except no new Codex that contains space marines is allowed to lose ever. I should amend that to Loyalist space marines perhaps but yeah, Space Marines cannot lose!

Does anyone remember the new Lizardmen release where they pitted all the studio Lizards against all the studio Daemons? The relative youth of the latter saw them out-pointed at least twice over (though some of their units could return from play).

I don't suffer from mental instability. In fact, I enjoy it immensely.

And not only that, they kitted out the Lizardmen will all the anti-daemon stuff IIRC. Just made the whole thing worse.

Honestly, I'd rather they said "we're going to make two armies using every shiny new model we have painted" rather than "ooh, I think I'm going to take crappy unit X because they're so good"

White Dwarf battle reports aren't balanced and they favour the new army. If anything they're being more honest about it...

The sad thing is that the Chaos list was really, REALLY bad. With that scenario and against that list, I'm confident I could take 3000 points of chaos and kick the s**t out of 3400 points of DA.
