Zi's Stag Do - 4 player tournament (Youtube) updated with Game 2

Hi guys,

Well, i'm off to one of my best mates stag do tomorrow and were having a wee tournament during the day. Only four of us. I'm bringing Ogres and there should be a Lizardman, Wood Elf and Empire list present.

I'm going to update this topic with individual links to the battle reports (Youtube), but for now thought i'd link to a video explaining my list and thoughts on what i'm facing

1) Unfortunately, firebellies do not qualify for the butcher tax. The butcher tax MUST be a maw butcher. So you need to replace the firebelly with a maw butcher, or use a maw slaughtermaster.

My suggestion for your army, go with a lvl 4 maw slaughtermaster and a lvl 1 heavens butcher. Maw on a lvl 4 slaughtermaster with fencers blade is amazing. He will be even harder to kill since he will be regenerating wounds with every spell he casts. And you are gauranteed an awesome spell on the heavens (blizzard)

2) I think the wailing banner is pretty steep for its points. Maybe banner of discipline or gleaming pennant for them instead?

3) I also like ogres with extra hand weapons.

4) If you are worried about purple sun, then I would take hellheart on the lvl 1/2 caster. Unless its too steeply comped. I don't understand this comp system really...

1) Apologies i wasn't clear - i'm using the Firebelly AS a L1 butcher as i like the model. My oppononet are all aware of this.

2) Yeah it's an expensive banner but the Standard of Discipline would have affected my comp too much. Itself being negative'd and also it would have freed up 35 points which would've like added more comp -ve elsewhere. I'm hoping it can terror some flanking unit away thus freeing up a flank for a unit. Or a WM crew fail a terror test and cant shoot if i dont reach them...that sort of thing

3) Hellheart is seriously comped

the comp system is summe dup best by the "bad dice podcast"...who said something along the lines of "it's like slimming world points". "You can have the real fatty treat but then have to eat a lot of salad"

So i have my L4, MFC and LB's, but cant get the hellheart, Dragonhide banner or Ironblasters...

Really enjoyed the Battle report here!  Your friend certainly was unlucky!  But he get's a big cheer from me for Morgan Treeman!  Just awesome.  Looking forward to seeing more Bat reps.

The the maneaters were woefully underused. I'd imagined them quickly deleting the eagle and then marching down his line but i shot the egle and didn't kill it and so it delayed em!

I'm putting the vox to the second game tonight so watch this space!
