Here are some oriental style conversions I was working on a while back.



This is a hunter conversion. I originally bought it in a lot from another guy. he had originally converted it with just a wad of green stuff holding the outstretched arm on, no breastplate, the feet with no shoe bottom glued to the tengu geta and topped off with a paper hat. I saw what he wanted to do and liked it so I broke the model apart cleaned it up some and them redid the conversion.





The first one is free and this one is it. My first plastic Ogre from GW. they gave them away to build for a contest at the now closed local GW store. It was for a pit fighting game with lots of different options for the models. Of course the options I picked are not allowed now so I play him as a maneater with a cathayan sword. The sword I sculpted out of green stuff and the gnoblar is an old goblin spearman.

I have been invited to play in a fantasy battle map campaign using 500 point armies. We get three banners and each is a 500 point army in the campaign.

I want one army to be lead by a Firebelly. I haven't picked up a firebelly yet so I will have to proxy for a while. Luckily I picked up a guys collection years ago and it had a reaper confrontation Dai Obakemono model in it.



It didn't come with its sashimono on it back so I will have to make one up.

I have joined a fantasy campaign and one thing I needed was a baggage train for my Ogres to escort.



So a search of my bits boxes and I turned up a celtos chariot. I mocked up the body and found that i could fit six of the casks from the bull sprue. I cut a piece of styrene and after greenstuffing the barrels glued them on. The styrene isn't glued on and can be taken out if I ever want to use it as a celt chariot.

I have assembled a unit of iron guts to add to the army. I was toying with the idea of an Iron gut horde but I think I will start with a Ogre horde. I had two boxes of iron guts and decided I could still use them to support the ogre horde. So i assembled the eight from the two boxes and then used two extra bulls to make a gutlord and a standard bearer. I did a weapon conversion on the standard bearer to have a flail but the Gut lord needed a great weapon. I raided the styrene and after a bit of trimming, pinning and sanding I had assembled a weapon for him. I added a couple skulls to the guard and one the pommel then finished it off with some green stuff.

I have been gathering all my Ogre Kingdom models and starting to build an army with what I have. A find I picked up a while ago, from a friend of mine selling some models, were two of the Grimhorn Rhinox Riders from Forge World. They have languished in the Closet of Doom for too long and I pulled them out and started working on them.



They are still in need of some heavy armor, iron fists and some ogre pistols. If my opponent is cool I will run them with the updated grimhorn rules from Forge World, and if not them I will play them as mournfang cavalry. If I break down and buy some mournfang cavalry, I will use them as champions in the mournfang units.

I pcked up some gnoblar trappers years ago and when i opened them I was missing parts.



I recieved some replacements but still wanted to use the extra trappers

So I came up with a couple plans

Plan B was the better one

I picked up a third Gorger off of Evil-Bay for $10 including shipping.



I ended up breaking it apart, cleaning it up and rebuilding it but it is a much better model than a finecast one.

I have two metal gorgers and six finecast and I do not know what finecast versions you have, but my are equal to the metal ones - at least.

And easier to convert.

It is just a personal preferance. I believe the metal models are more durable and I don't want to worry about the finecast warping if they get too hot.
