Winter is coming PICTURES ADDED 13/3-13

So, here we go for real!

Like I've already stated I've been a long time lurker and have finally returned to the hobby. What better start to finally figure out your project and joining the best forum he said? As it happens I've always been a fan of the north, snow and in general beards for some reason (don't ask me why, my lady just forced me to shave mine off leaving me with a simple yet stunning Van Dyke).

As you might've noticed I've been looking for some Teutogen models and have emptied my purse (the beauty of having a full time job, being able to pay ridicolus amounts of gold for just the right piece/-es) and found myself quite the collection.

As it goes I'll have about 46 Teutogen Guards including FC x2 (i.e 23 + 23), Ar-Ulric and The limited edition Teutogen/MIddenheim BSB.

Have as of today been ploughing through articles and articles of painting guides to get my skills up to par as what it used to be and feeling pretty ballsy. My main concern though is: Should I be fielding this host gamewise as Empire or HoC? I currently lean towards the WoC using the Teutogens as WoC with GW, Ar-Ulric as some kind of priest/sorceror and some converted marauder horsemen for cavalry.

Nothing much more than stating what come shall but would like some creative inputs regarding modelling/painting, bases and whatnots. Pics will be up in the coming weeks (as soon as they can be arsed to send me my nuggets!).

P.s. Also looking for a model that would fit the theme as my general. No need for a complete model, just some references/basic parts.

Sounds like a cool idea....I think if you do it right you could possible use the main units for both armies.
I'd perhaps start with the WoC as that will likely be a smaller army model wise. Also the current "best lists for Empire seem to be running primarily heavy cav and not many greatswords.

I agree with warlordsteve, I think the best way to represent this army at the moment would be to use the stats for the WoC army list, specifically Khorne. Can't wait to see some models! I love the Middenheim theme.

Currently working on a 750pts list to try out Vs a good friend of mine here in the north. Fooling around with it as a WoC list atm. Fielding them as WoC with greatweapons. Could use a few hints and tips at putting it together as a reasonable list at least (epic noob of doom).

Planning on making the trial-and-error trip come this januari (waiting for the shipments and would like to hit the fellas with a few batches of paint before we clash. Hence I'd liek to restrict myself to as few models as possible but still have a fighting chance ^^ (2x12 1x11 units of WoC + 1x Aspiring champion with great weapon). Shield might be a better option but I'm more of a aesthetic person. Looks and fluff before effectiveness if possible!

As do I. Also gives me the oppertunity to give them snow bases for the first time, do some NMM and perhaps a hint of "frozen/drunken" noses.

I've sorted out some of my issues so far. Been buying like a maniac across Ebay and so far have:

1 Avatars of War warrior priest. (Just need to swap the head for a more bearded one)

Since international shipping is a pain I'm thinking tomorrow I might grab myself some either fenrisian wolves or the thunder cavalry ones (will be pulling the chariot) + White lion chariot for a modelling project. Will be needing it for a upcomming 750pts match and better try out my painting skills so you guys get to see more than just me going bonkers on you

So, finally, all of my Teutogen guards has arrived par the charachters. I'm sort of at a crossroads atm. Have koads of ideas regarding the army etc but can't really decide on wether to go for the NMM, regular metallics or a cold/pale blue on the armours. Leaning towards regular metallics atm since NMM, to me, still is untried. Could try it out on a few chars and probably strip and repaint the teutogen at a later stage if that needs be.

Would love your recommendations so I finally could start posting a few pictures!

I haven't done NMM myself, but I think if you are investing the dollars into the Tuetogen models then you want to do something special with them...NMM might be the ticket.

That was my initial thought. Hell, I'll give it a go as soon I find the time and upload the attempt for CC.

Long time no seen!

Been pretty busy lately due to work issues and private matters. I have been painting a bit though so will ask my girlfriend to help me upload a few finished models this weekend probably. Will be having a lot of spare time since I'll be between jobs (a few pros and cons about that).

In the meanwhile, as to give this post some sort of substance I'll be giving you my idea of a 750pts army list for a upcomming challange Vs one of my best friend. He's an experienced WHFB and 40K general having tons of armies so not sure what he'll be fielding. Most likely O&G, mayhaps DE's or Empire.
