chaos ogres / Maneaters

original thread ↗

Hi again

Trying to break up my painting for my ogres I started thinking about a second set of Maneaters for my ogre tribe, witch is based on a ogre tribe in the empire province of Wissenland.
The Maneaters I have already, are being painted in Altdorf colors, but someone complained  that all I did was convert some Ironguts and call them Maneaters.
This wasn't different enough for the one said opponent, so I added 2 converted Maneater models in as well. But to really make them different and with the new WOC Juggers coming out I had a couple of spare ogres and have tried to convert them in to chaos ogres / Maneater models.
please tell me what you think

the command group so far; all models will have great weapons in the unit and are based on a Khorne theme

standard bearer

I am thinking of taking the standards head off and changing it to a horned un-helmeted one

Looking great!  I particularly like the standard with great use of shields.  The paint colour scheme on the standard bearer has come out really well too.  :D  Looking forward to seeing more.

Hi again

thanks for the feed back Zolas.
I have used the brass rod and shields as all my standards ( i have tried to repair to many plastic standards), apart from the fist bulls i made still brass rod but i used the plastic standard.
my mornfangs were the first unit i tryed in on as i dont like the banner from the box

here is how the chaos / maneaters are getting on, i have finished the standard and base coated the others i didn't realize you could still see green stuff until i saw the photos i must stop undercoating with a brush

this is my other maneater unit with the converted Ironguts

and my leadbelchers aswell

I have just finished my Thundertusk he ended up brown like the mornfangs  because i just could not find a way of painting the polar bear color right, this i why my Yhetees might never be finished.

The Mournfangs look good. Their tusks are a bit shiny white for my taste but maybe the Riders take good care of their 'fangs. As for the Chaos Maneaters, they're pretty damn neat. Only thing I can't really get behind is the banner. With the way it is you can't see the bearer's head at all. It's entirely blocked by the right-hand shield.

The Belchers are definitely a WIP and that poor dude in front must have gotten a bad misfire if it popped his head clean off! Lastly, if you could get like a greyish white (Wolf Grey from Vallejo comes to mind) and just faintly go over the Thundertusk's fur with it, it's give it an awesome grizzled coloration. That'd break up the flat brown of its pelt nicely and give it some extra zing.

Otherwise, looks good man, keep it up!
My Gnoblog. It's just starting up and might be slow to update but here it is!
