Lord of The Rings STBG

original thread ↗

Just wanted to ask, is here anyone other  than me who is interested in LoTR STBG? :)

I thought of starting an Isengard and Moria themed armies. (Goblins and Uruk-Hai..<3 ) Going to get the Mines of Moria starter set. :) just to get some of my fellow gamers to enjoy LoTR also. (It is going to be hard, they love the books and movies, but I really dont know why they dont like the game.)

Is there someone else who has an army or likes to start one or so on? :)
Discuss here and change ideas and scenario thingies and such. :)

(Reason for this new Topic is that I didnt find an old one...or I'm just plainly blind.)

I play dwarves and isengard.

The game is a real nice one. Good balance and mechanics.

Only problem with it is it can be difficult once you get past a certain size, don't try a couple hundred model size game. At least not with tons of heroes.
Current win streak: 10

Things Fluffy has flattened: Ancient Stegadon, Unit of 5 Chariots with Tomb king, Chaos Lord, Herald of Khorne on Jugger,

Thought of Staying in 500p games. :p max 700p.

Also the thing 'Warband / Battle Company' is the one that really interest's me. :) Starting from few models and in the end you have a 'horde' of soldiers with couple of heroes with a great background story. :D (From scenarios and so one, if they didnt die in the midway. X3 )

The hardest part is getting some fellows to like the game also. :/ (That is the reason I'll start with Mines of Moria and start the goblins from there and add some Isengard forces on the way. ;)

I played it way back before the whole war of the ring thing came out...bout 10 years ago. It was kinda boring to me. I played Isengard.
Great weapons make Great weapons.
NEVER YIELD!
I play both a Minas Tirith and a Isengard.

I used to play it a while ago however always struggled to find opponents however recently there does seem to be more people taking it up... May be it is to do with the Hobbit film just round the corner. It has an uncomplicated ruleset which means that it is fairly simple to pick up and play.

With the new people, we tend to play 300-500 points (So typically 2-3 warbands). Biggest game so far has been 750 points.
uuu..o.o

Anybody know where would be some batreps to be readed or watched? In youtube, there are quite few but I mostly like to read more than watch. :/

Have to get the money for that damn mines of moria starter set, so that I can start brainwashing my local fellows. =.=
