Swamp walkers. Updated on 2013 04 05

Just bringing  my ogres back to life. ( side note whats the best way to post pics?)

As of date I have painted...

13 bulls painted in a very pale flesh eyes having decided yet either red or dark blue. There pants are in a light grey blue, with green/brown boots. Metal trim layers of mixed metal with rust power coated on them.
11 iron guts same only difference is purple pants.

Thunder tusk is white, with deep blue glaze than metal white mix in to give it shining look. The two ogres on top are matched with the blue glaze trying to caputre the frozen numb look.

Cats are greens over coated with a red ink and grey undertones.

That what I finished sense I went shopping few weeks ago.

The bases are done in.  A swamp theme hence he name. Lots of water effects, only the tusk bass has hints of snow and frost, again to add to the numbing chill effect.

I didn't want to do the snow/mount/lava thing. It's over used IMO so I took a off shoot of he swamp tribe.
Once I win the battle in technology and figure out how to post pics. It will be easier to see the theme I went for.

Now here's the list of what I have to build/paint

2 iron blaster
1 stone horn
4 MF
2 Sm/butchers
2 skins wolves either used for gorges for if i get more used as yeeheets
1 Bragg
1 fire belly

Now what I going to convert
6 maneaters with pistoles
1 SM dule swoards to look like fencer blades, armour to match glittering scales and greedy fist.
1 BSB

What I plan to buy ( no set time line)
6-9 FW plague ogres to used as maneaters also respsenting the ogres Bragg has gutted
1 tamurkhan on toad dragoon going of used for what ever, the model it self hits as the right ruler of my list. Don't care about what his rules fluff. Mostly going to end up a center peice.
6 bulls never hurts to have more
6 iron guts same
1 fire belly

Spelling and wrighting are not what I am good at, so sorry no elaborate fluff behind my army. Just things I wanted to focus on.

once I get photos up I am looking for any all types of CC,  I am not very strong painter. So any tips would be help full. Also if something should be repainted tell me. Your not going to hurt my feeling by telling my plastic gaming peice wasnt painted good enough. Pointing out flaws will aid me painting, and after  seeing most of what's up here looks like I got a lot to learn.

As Davespaceman said, Photobucket is a great way to go. Create an account and upload them there, then copy the img tag from the image and copy it into your post.

Looking great! A light wash on the skin will go a long way I think.  I really like the bases.

I am unsure on the wash, have not found a good wash to mix with the dired blood, bloodless skin mix I used to make thier skin.

You know of a good wash to use? I don't want to make them too dark looking.

Yeah, I know.  I think you would have to re-highlight after the wash to bring it back up, but just leave the recesses wash coloured.

Black is the obvious choice, but purple might work too.  Try it on one before you do all!

Anyone else have any tips on washing grey skin?

A friend on mine has been painting his Slaaenshi Daemons grey with a very dark blue wash which turns out quite nice. Personally though I'd take a few spare ogre arms and undercoat them and test blue, purple, and black washes on them before committing to anything major

I tried out a light blue wash on two ogres that ride on a thunder tusk.
They came out ok, have a very light tint of blue to them. I will post up photos once I finish base coating the thunder tusk.

As for the black ink or nlun oil, I tried that as well for my iron blaster riders, obiv is dark but once I add spots of black weathering. It came out better has more of burnt look to it.

I was looking at secret mintures washes last night to come up with a one. There is a few that stand out, parchment shcroll is one, and fallout yellow might work.

But I going to try and re wash one in the drying blood than re highlight and see how that works.

Anyhow I am going post up photos of some cats, thunder tusk and fire belly and Bragg tonight once I get off work.

Need some more light.  Your beautiful models are completely covered in shadows. 

Yeah I need to retake them with either a flash or some backlighting. Been working on a few conversion for maneaters, going to post up few more pics tonight tomorrow time frame

It's been a while sense I got a chance to throw up some picks.

However my FW order came in while mainly stuff for death guard. I did get some units for either Yeethees or maneaters of the swamp.

So today when I get home from work going to post up

1) thundertusk just working on last details on base oil paint takes for every to dry. ( not to thrilled with the way the ice looks, heard about this crackly stuff some kinda of paint any one got the info on that)

2) my hunter I kinda rush him to get him ready but he stole the show when I feild him.

3) WIP maneaters. Going ask the forum what they think.
So here it goes ; for my maneaters/leadbleanchers there going to have cross bows and blow pipes. Mainly my list is swamp base, not much gun power to go around.  But I have iron blaster in the list. So I am get the wtf look when my other shooter have arrow weapons. But the goal behind is mimic my hunter so that's why the have no gun power weapons.

4) local OK players are quick to spot I have no gobos. On my bases A) I don't like them B) it's a swamp food is hard to come by. So being a lizard player I have left over sinks should I use them for gobos? It would fit my theme.

5) completed my SM with fencer blades and giltering scale. ( however I think he has two much color on him. When I post the picks I will let u all decide.

6) trying out different looks for my bsb trying to be original and stick with swamp theme.

Not 100% fan of the way the ice came out

There the TT, they base I am a little bit upset with, what had invasion and my skill level put out were to completely different things.

I did like how the blue  tinted the white and adds to the numb look.  I would had it done sooner but oil pants take forever to dry natural, but gave me time to work on my hunter, yeah I rush him a bit it can be seen in the photos.

So for the rest of my list, MF are the fouces for now. There riders are 90% done just hair spraying them and giving there metal a rusty coat.  Maybe tomorrow I will put them up.

Gave him a pose like he is pointing and calling out, to his cats who are getting ready to pounce on someone or thing. The cats base will mirro his and make if look like there on the edge if the tree line.

Also I am going do the maneaters/lead bleachers  like him as well, so it looks like he is training his spotter and maybe one day his replacement.

Been away for awhile job had busy as hell.

What major changes came about I seen chaos and deamons got a new book.  Looks like some good converison pices.

Anything else new in world, looking to jump to few events next week and don't want to get mopped
