Butcher Conversion

original thread ↗

Im sure someone must have tried making a Butcher out of a Bull... I though I would use the Bellowes head but point it upwards and let the butcher hold an orcs head or some guts or the like so it. Anyone tried positioning the head like that? Is it even possible?
yeah, sure it's possible.

I checked and the only thing you'll have to do is cover the throat as it will be clearly visible.
I suggest sculpting a big fat chin. File down the original chin a little and sculpt the new one underneath it, so it looks like a heavy blob of fat that's being pulled down by gravity.

Good idea... yea the bellowerhead is hollow so ill definetly try that out... Ill get started tonight with some GS-ing and repositioning of arms...
I also used the bellower arm, but repositioned the hand to ahve him holding some GS meat he was shovelling into his gob.

I've converted 2 butchers now and really enjoyed doing them both.

If you're looking for inspiration, the Games-Workshop website has a bunch of conversions of butchers from plastic bulls.

Wildcard u got pics of them? This seems to be harder than i though... im not very good with greenstuff on large areas and to reposition the arm to be held over his head I had to cut and file quite a bit.
If u want to do a quick Bull to Butcher conversion, make a green-stuff belly instead of the Gutplate, and give him a bellower head. It doesn't look bad (though when I did it I used the head from the command sprue with the skulls in his beard).
2 Pet Gnoblars! I dub them Itchy and Scratchy, for reasons that are too private to divulge.
here are a few pics - these were about half way on teh final paint tones, but the show the positions pretty well.  Hope they help!

Nice! Some lovely conversion work there! (and no GS that I can see)
*insert witty signature here*
The aprons were likely made out of GS, but if you can't notice it and it looks like part of the model, then the GS scupltors job is complete!

Love the cooking pot by the way! It looks like a steaming cauldron of baked beans and goblins (ew from heinz on the back of their sausage and beans success).

Hmm looks good. Easier to reposition the left hand from the bellower than the arm i chose, though im doing right hand high above the head holding a Gnoblars head... Ill have to reconsider here since my conversion will require some major GS to get the arm right and cover up all the gaps. Ill post a pic of how far i gotten last night when i get home.
I just got a nice idea.... Im thinking of using the facemask from this orc:

Giving one of my butchers a Freddy Kreuger'ish look. Im also thinking about using the sword/speartip conversion as a brutal cleaver.

Ill continue my GSing of my first butcher and hopefully post some pics of it soon. The repositioned arm is almost done, and now i need to do a nice apron (which will be a challenge since i kinnda suck at GS).
a tip for painting blood is to use red ink and highlight with blood red
my twin gnobler pets are called itchy and scratchy
no expanation needed
I kinda suck at green stuff to but i might take apart a bull and attempt converting into butcher (save $50) Aus dont hav heaps of money  :(
Me neither and I need 3 Butchers and the conversion was actually quite successfull. Ill post pics when i get home from work tonight... the only one thing i cant figure out is what it should hold in the hand that is raised above its head over the mouth... Greenstuffing guts or a heart just looks bad... Need some suggestions on that one!
Where did you get the cauldron?

Looks like the cauldron from Skrag's model?

Edit: nevermind, just found a pic of him and its most definitely not that.

I once accidentally declared a 20" charge because I though it looked like 12
the cauldron is a seige cauldron that I ordered from GW online.
