Ok, some of us might have developed a hatred to marines, but others like them. So who is your favourite chapter and why? Me? I personally prefer the Crimson fists. And I have a few reasons why: 1: I play as Crimson Fists. 2: I like their colour scheme. 3: They are heroes beyond legend. (Even GW admitted this!) 4: The only mexican that made it to space... Then became a Chapter Master. Oh, Pedro, we love you! 5: Apparently, Scouts are the Fist's way of the future. They are supposed to go through the training that a Space Marine goes through. 6: Hold the Line! Chapter Banner? Ultimate combo. 7: Some nice coversion packs. 8: On the Rouge Trader cover. 9: The new anniversary model. And all were short are master-crafted power fists. So what about you guys? Post yours below!

I love all Marines. Without them, I wouldn't have anyone to repeatedly kick in the head or entrails to offer up.
I don't suffer from mental instability. In fact, I enjoy it immensely.
Gutlord Inquisitor: FORUM FIGHT! Me, I'm betting on the stronghold. Sure, they're outnumbered with thick skulls, stubborn bull-headedness and an inflated sense of self-worth, but hey, they're Ogres.

I little bit obscure but I would choose the Minotaurs Chapter.
My reason for this is that I simply love Greek mythology, armour style shields and spears.
I also just love the miniature that FW done for Asterion Moloc and the way that they portray the best parts of the Greek armour style I find so appealing. With any luck they will bring out some more bits for this chapter at some point.
I like (and play) Ultramarines because everyone hates them. And I like the color blue.
And also because Mareneus is very fun to punch people with.

My favourite chapter is really difficult... I mean, I have always loved the Iron Hands. However, I do quite like the chapter heraldry of the Astral Claws. Not to mention the beautiful FW models...

After all, painting 100 night goblins is something you do in the morning just before you are off to work.
And I think you missed a 0 when you wrote 11 armies. The correct nr should be 110 armies I would think, based on your painting speed.

It's all about the renegades for me, throwing off the shackles of the corrupt and bloated Imperium and embracing the truth and light of chaos!
Although if I had to pick a 'loyalist' chapter, I think it'd have to be soul drinkers. No gods, no masters!

I like...
1st. Dark Angels.
2nd. Iron Hands.
3rd. Black Templars.
Lion El Jonson and Ferrus Manus were/are my two favourite Primarches. Otherwise what I like about the Dark Angels is their look and Bretonnian-esqe background and being able to field an all Terminator Deathwing Army.
I like the old story of why the Deathwing paint their armour and vehicles bone white, about how before then there were fourty Deathwing stranded on a planet overrun by Tyranids or Daemons or something and they all knew they were going to die so they reverted back to calling themselves their names and such before they became Space Marines and primitive customs like painting their armour bone white.
In the end they scoured the entire planet of the enemy, but only one survived, and lived to tell the tale, but he had had enough of war basically after that and had gone back to living like a primitive, and out of honour of their sacrifice the Dark Angels let him be and forever painted their Deathwing Company stuff bone white.
I like how when Ferrus Manus was like two years old he fought a C'Tann to a stalemate and drowned the thing under a lava waterflow to kill it, and from his forearms down became iron. After the Istvaan V Dropsite Massacre the Iron Hands, Raven Guard and Salamanders always seemed like underdog heroes to me, and Corax is a beast.
I like how the Black Templars structure is sort of based on the Crusaders and the Crusades to reclaim Jerusalem, and how like the Crusaders built great castles in the desert in places they conquered, the Black Templars do the same thing on worlds they purge of Aliens/Xenos. And also I like how Sigismund was the greatest swordsman of the Horus Heresy era, it wasn't a Blood Angel or a World Eater, it was the First Captain of the Imperial Fists! And they called him the Black Knight, and he founded the Black Templars.

Since I've been working on my White Scars inspired Space Marine army for what seems like forever (god are bikes a pain to paint), I'm gonna pick them.
When done right, the white and red look awesome. (Sadly I'm the one painted them)

The Salamanders are amazing!

Out of the chapters in the most recent codex, I chose the Doom Legion for my paint scheme. I liked the idea of a space-based chapter that wasn't the Black Templars, and I'm a complete fanboy for anything I can even tangentially relate to Victor Von Doom.

Check out forgeworlds goodies as they have brought back the space sharks and have a really cool character for them!!!!!! Ok they re named them the carcharodons but it's the same chapter and imperial armour books 9&10 have some background and rules for them!!!!
For me it has to be minotors or mantice warriors
It WILL happen I WILL paint a model Maybe!!!!!!

I absolutely love the fluff of the Space Wolves (just not so much the color scheme or models). The original three novels for Ragnar Blackmane by William King are some of the best 40k books written, and really put a relatable face to the Adeptus Astartes. A specialist legion/chapter, which follows it's own codes and experience (no codex astartes for them!), and will get the job done regardless the cost. Read Thousand Suns and Prospero Burns for an awesome tale told from two sides; it'll make you love the Thousand Sons and Space Wolves (although I loved the end of Legion more).
PLUS they are the only book to have a special Dreadnought character (and if you didn't know, I am an absolute dreadnought who...fanboy ). The novel Battle of the Fang is great too.
...curses to GW for destroying my Dreadnought army after having so little time to play with it...

Oh yes, the flamming outcast Dreadnough. Believe me, I've DEFINITELY though about converting up a model for him. I'm waiting to see if Forge World makes a model for him. At the moment, I'm busy trying to cast Contemptor Dreadnought legs for all of my ordinary dreadnoughts.
MaanNaam04 Sep 2012
For me it's probably the Ultra Marines. For the sole purpose because they remind me of the Terran Marines in starcraft, and Terran Marines are the second coolest unit in ALL DE UNIVERSAS!!! (old hydralisk being number 1)
There is only news. There is no good or bad.

I have been very attatched to the dark angels as they were my 1st army, I love there lore and there genral feel. I am sad to say i gave them up for Tau... although the new box set and focus of Dark-A means there might be some good models being made (be it fan or GW).
