Gnoblog of the Stone Scribes/Protectors of the Mountain

original thread ↗

BACKGROUND:
From one of the highest peaks in the Mountains Of Mourne, the  ancient tribe of the Stone Scribes are a group of Ogres as old and as strong as the very mountains themselves. With their very strong builds they march to war to protect the mountain god Mourna, mother of all Ogres. They write down all the teachings of their very old and wise ogres into the mountains themselves. They have a very old arcane lore that can not only draw power from the Great Maw, but even from the Mountains themselves. They are known as the Protectors to local tribes as they would fight to the death against anyone to preserve Mourna's sacred runes. Despite them being so old, these ogres have the equivelant strenght of most Tyrants and are as tough as the stone they carve on.
Uhhm, most of my army is already painted so I will post pics of them, and any upcoming projects (like my ironblaster for example)
Unfortuneatly I came up with my tribe name a while after I painted most of my stuff so don't expect much conversion standouts, just some painting. I will regularily post pics so please enjoy!
So here is my Tyrant:

Here is Bragg and his rear view

The reason why there is a delay is because I first took the photos with early morning sunlight, and it was kind of a bad idea.
Don't worry I will post all my Lords and Heroes first, aswell as my lone Maneater.
After that, I plan on doing some pics for the units, then some monstour pics (can you guess wich one?) and so on so forth.
By now you have probably noticed the greenish skin, well I came up with a reason why:
Because the tribe protects the mountain so often from the greenskins, when these ogres ate them it had some side effects. Then along came the Chaos warriors of Nurgle, after being beaten to a pulp, the Chaos fled and the ogres ate their rotten, greenish flesh. (Do you notice a pattern?) And when some high elves came along, they revolted the ogres with their (rules) pointy hats so they didn't eat them. They just clobbered them.
Here is my firebelly, frint and rear:

Here is my Gorger, front and rear:

Here is my partially painted Greasus:

So here is the Tyrant Longbeard the Ancient one, Elder Scribe of Mourna's runes.

So here is my Slaughtermaster

Here is my butcher

So here is Golfgag Maneater with a Ninja maneater

Nice ogres, I'm liking the grey skin.

Keep Calm and Praise the Sun!
Oh right, I have been using my phone to copy the page urls, I see now. Okay, I will use a computer and change them. This blogging stuff is hard. For me anyway  :P
Okay, I'm gettin the hang of these now. So the Tyrant model is done, so I just gotta redo the rest. oh god, with my old laptop (my dad has a fast one for work, so I can't use it :( ) that took me ages, so now I gotta take even more time to do them haha. I must also cut my nails, didn't realise they were that long... So stay tuned, and hopefully by Wednesday I will have all my solos out of the way, yay!
Whoa, been a long time. Hopefully I can get up pics today or tomorrow. I finished my ironguts and a good few 40k stuff. Also made and built a new gorger. I like how he came out.
I really like the skintone of your Ogres; they look almost undead-ish, and I think it rocks! :) I think you've done a particularly good job on painting the fire on the Firebelly.

Keep up the good work,

After all, painting 100 night goblins is something you do in the morning just before you are off to work.

And I think you missed a 0 when you wrote 11 armies. The correct nr should be 110 armies I would think, based on your painting speed.

Thanks million! More pics are coming later today. I will fix the old links and try to post new ones!  :D
Okay I have added a poll as I have a question: Ironblaster or Scraplaucher?
Now for some this seems like an obvious question but for me there are limitations:
1: I only have 2 Ironblaster/Scraplauncher boxes. 1 is built already as an Ironblaster.
2: I would not be able to find the points for an Ironblaster in my army if I took the Stonehorn and Thundertusk combo.
3: I feel having 2 cannons might be a target for my opponent.
4: I also feel cheesy if I bring two.
5: I don't really see much crowd control for ogres (If you have any suggestions please let me know below) and I lack crowd control where the Scraplauncher fills that gap.
6: I am generally lucky with cannons but I nearly always score a direct hit with templates.
7: Killing blow over multiple wounds?
8: Generally I don't hit that much models in the bounce (usually 6-7) but I feel that the catapault could hit more.
So please help guys! Post your answers below. Thanks!  :)
Oh, yeah fixed most of the links into images and gonna finish the rest soon!  :)
To be entirely honest, it sounds as though you've already made your mind up... ;)

Did I? Could you tell me what it was?  ;)
Yeah; to me, it sounds like you've settled on Scraplauncher :') Personally, I would suggest a second Ironblaster, but your reasons are sound to go for the 'launcher :)

Whoa!
After 6 months I have not forgotten about this blog! (Well maybe a little...)
The reason being: 3rd=BIG EXAM YEAR So all I had time for was study in my life.
I am sorry guys, I don't pictures today but I can give you a list of what to expect:
Finished:
Lots of 40k models.
A few Warmachine models.
Ironblaster
In Progress:
I am building a converted Death Butcher
A converted Beast Butcher
A second ironblaster
A Thundertusk
Bulls (x5)
Maneaters (x5, also I am stuck for ideas as I don't have that many other army sprues and I am not very good at modelling. Any help?)
1 more Irongut
Uhhm yeah, thats it. As you can see it's a pretty BIG list to finish. Hopefully I can tip away at them and finish some. Others might not be done until the end of school :'(
Also I have a question for you guys:
I have a lot of 40k models painted and Warmachine stuff and my question is:
Do you want to see it? I am unsure whether or not to post it in my gnoblog but if you want me to, then I will.
Okay guys, peace out.
Thanks  :D I finally got the act toghether! Bulls tomorrow, due to a bombshell of a project I had to do today...
