New Ogres Army - Ice Theme

original thread ↗

Hey everyone.

Starting up this Gnoblog to share my progress as I build my new OK army from the ground up.

So far I know that I want to go with an ice theme, specifically revolving around the various beasts that the Ogres bring to war as I love most of the beasts models. I'd also like to have heavy magic, with less focus on the shooting phase.

So here's what I have fresh out of the box for me to start with:
( 8 ) Ogres
( 4 ) IG
( 3 ) Yeti
( 1 ) Bruiser
( 1 ) Hunter
( 2 ) Sabers
( 6 ) Trappers (Metal)
(24) Gnoblars

I'm thinking of mixing/matching some pieces to get 6/6 ogres/IG instead of 8/4. I would love to convert the hunter or bruiser into a BSB, and somehow covert the other into a SM/butcher. No idea how I will go about this though, any suggestions are much appreciated.

I'll be uploading some pics of my painting progress soon!
Did you get those from the battalion box. If so you can make 8 bulls and 8 ironguts or 7 bulls and convert 1 body to be a bsb.  Do note that you will need the highest leadership to be your general so a bsb is not a good option right now. 4 ironguts are good for start off games, and an infantry horde works well. Make the butcher into a slaughtermaster, (for a general in bigger games) and heres how you do it.
1: Make a butcher.
2: Glue the "goat" skull onto his face like a mask. (It looks very cool.)
3: Cut up some spare body bits and litter his base with them.
4: If you want, cut off his hand with no weapon and give him an ironfist(it looks epic).
There you go, an awesome sm/butcher.
Bruiser bsb
1: This guy is alot tougher.
2: Get a body and pick some arms and a pose. (Greenstuff maybe required for maximum awesomeness)
3: If an arm has a weapon, cut it off.
4: Find the thing he wants to hold.
5: Find a way to put that on him by cutting, moving, puttying, etc.
6: An idea my friend had was get an Irongut with his hands above his head, fiddle around by cutting etc to get him to hold thevmast. He then got a ton of bits from my friends armies, made an icon, made a chain out of putty (or buy some chains) and he hung the bits off the flag like trophies.
7: What I did was I got a metal bruiser model. Got the big maw thing off the thundertusk (see I built a stonehorn), made chains out of putty and a slot on his back out of putty, connected the maw pole thing with the pouch, wrapped chains around the pole and connected them to his gut plate like he was carrying it. Got the great weapon, took the ball off and glued on the tyrant's hammer and got some thunderthusk horns (the small ones) and old rhinox horns and glued them on to his armour. He now looks epic.
