Devils painting log

Hey all,
Having just recently starting ogres and seeing as making one of these is an ogre achievement and hopefully a good way to get advice as im a bad painter id thought id show off my progress so far


The first model i painted is my test iron gut, i plan to do the unit like that but with slightly different skin and different colour pants.


The next 2 are my conversion on a giant ready to be primed, any advice before i do would be brill



And the last 2 are my first iron blaster that i just finished before coming on here, just gotta do the base (see first iron gut) then hes done completely

Todays WIP shots.
Not to happy with the darker skinned ogre but i dont want all the ogres having the same shade of skin so if anything has a good way of painting dark flesh that would be awesome




Sorry for the bad photos, all i have to taken them with us my phone with is 5.2 MP so if anyone has a cheap alternative to suggest that would be good to lol

3 completed iron guts, although i do plan on re-doing the bases once i get some snow flock and the turf things GW sell.

Have not had time to paint for the past few days but i have photos of some of my other models

These were the 2nd thing i painted, right after my objective marker.

And a little objective marker i made,


This was the first thing i ever painted using some bits from my bitz box and trying to make a metallic red. Just mixing boltgun and red left more a pinky colour then anything else. Also i couldnt find his arm so just painted (bad) flesh there. I keep meaning to repaint the whole model but i just like to look at it and see how much ive improved just over the few models ive painted.

Im not to fond of using a white undercoat so i wont be doing that again lol
I am however pleased at my first attempt on highlighting on their cloaks
