Essential Tremors

Hello all. This will be the log that serves me as an insentive to keep on painting... Bit of a glacier painter. (Since I've started the hobby I finished, I think, 2 models, and started painting about a dozen - to give you an indication of my usual speed.)

I'll also try to post fluff and things like that in this blog.

I recently started Ogres and Fantasy. Started Eldar, 40k, 'bout a year ago. I must say, I enjoy Ogres alot more. A lot lot. Big thing they have in their favour is the model size. Also, I generally am more of a fantasy nut than a scifi geek...

In any case. This is one of my WIP sabretusks. Crappy photoquality, I'll practice that as well.

Update already. Second tusk is now in the same stage as the first. I need to learn how to work a bit less sloppy for starters.

I like the striped pattern! How exactly did you do that if you don't mind me asking?

The striped pattern was done with a brush (citadel yellow tip I think) and patience. I think the second tusk came out better than the first, as the first has been patterned in to many colours. Paint step by step for the second's fur is (IIRC):
- prime black
- base fenris grey
- drybrush astronomical grey
- asurmen blue wash
- drybrush astronomical grey
- drybrush enchanted blue mixed with skull white (bout 50/50 I think)
- paint striped with echanted blue mixed with mote skull white.

I just looked at it in daylight and it needs some stronger defined striped I think...

Up-date with some bulls. Some miss a weapon, or a hand, or a banner, or some zing. Anyways, took pictures to show you my self-imposed torture: trying to give my ogres tribal scarifications. Which is a bitch. I'm using liquid greenstuff and a toothpick. Actually works quite nice, though you'll have to put a counter-intuitively-large blob of greenstuff on the end of the toothpick in order to draw lines and such. Also, everything has to have at least two layers to get a semblance of the illusion of a raised surface due to scarification... They're a bit wobbly, as all my handywork is, but I think that a layer of glue, before priming, will be able to smooth out most of that.

Lemme know what you think. Suggestions for patterns and such are also greatly appreciated.

Very nice indeed.  And I think very effective on ogres!
