My arch nemesis is....

Painting... There I said it... I lack a certain something that ends up having all my models turn out like kindgerten finger paintings. I've given up on painting for a long while now but with the new gw paints I feel an urge to pick up a brush and get to it. So I come before you and plead for your help... I need a simple paint scheme that even I cant mess up and perhaps a few tips as well. I'll have to be buying new paint too, hopefully not many. Any and all help is greatly appreciated...

Oh and one other thing if possible is there such a thing as an easy ogre bull to firebelly conversion? If so what's the secret?
1, Undercoat in black
2, Paint your ogres tallarn flesh on the skin.
3, Paint the pants in 1 tone of whatever color you want
4, Paint the metallics in boltgun metal. Paint the boots brown and the belt brown.
5, This is the big one...COVER EVERYTHIG IN A THICK LAYER OF DEVLAN MUD, ESPECIALLY THE SKIN.
6, Highlight your pants with the original coulor you painted them with( its not hard just cover the raised areas and edges)
7, Paint the raised areas of flesh and the face with dwarf flesh. (basically just don't paint in the spaces between muscles)
8, drybrush the sword with gold, and paint the details on the gutplate gold.
9, teeth and eyes with bleached bone(TAKE YOUR TIME)

And done. Take your time, its really not hard. Its not how I paint my ogres because I paint em grey, but this is easy as hell.
And just leave the facial hair black if it scares you.
Great weapons make Great weapons.

Indeed you actually paint quicker if you take your time as you don't have to go back and make corrections.  If you find you can't concentrate have a break, get a quick drink.  It really can make all that difference!

Chuck Norris was the fourth wise man and gave Jesus his favorite gift, a beard. The other wise men were so hacked off, they got Chuck Norris removed from the bible. Mysteriously, they all later died of Roundhouse kick related injuries.
Any suggestions on a good fire color? Or how to get it to look nice specifically...

From the large man eater blog on Warseer.  This page in particular has a long stage by painting guide for a torch that may help.

An easy FB conversion could be done by by using the bellower parts and getting hold of some bitz with flames or smoke or similar.

Skaven and Vampire Counts have quite a few. I use this store when I need some bitz http://stores.ebay.com/Hoard-O-Bits/Skaven-/_i.html?rt=nc&_fsub=18593111&_sid=328531845&_trksid=p4634.c0.m14.l1513&_pgn=1

Corpse cart, Weapon teams, Skaven Chieftain, Plague Priest, Mortis Throne etc could perhaps be of use.

Just blew $50 on paint so I should be pretty set. Although I realize I ended up with skull white instead of bleached bone.... Is that a big deal?

You mean like this? Basically I just cut off the flame part and stuck it in the bellower's mouth.

But where did you get the flame part?
Flame part is off the bellower model.

You mean the Firebelly not Bellower I think mate! ;)

Yeah see if I had the model I would use it. I just have this thing about spending $50 on one model when I'm going to probably use two of them...
Buy a ticket to a GW run tournament, this is the only reason I ever paint anything!
Guinness.
Eh? Not sure I follow... In other news I just snagged a fire belly and butcher for $40 on Ebay :)
